"true Jews" lol. There's no such thing as a true Jew in the bible, that word wasn't used one single time by any of the prophets or apostles. The truth about the word Jew is that it doesn't belong in bible translations because it makes people falsely believe that Jews and the Israelites who lived in Judaea are the same people, and they're definitely not. The only true transliteration of the word Ioudaios in the bible is JUDAEAN. And it's Judaean because Ioudaios refers to inhabitants of Ioudaia/Judaea. If there were any Israelites called Jews, the apostles would have used a Greek version of the word - "Iou", instead of using Ioudaios. This is such a simple deception to detect, but most people have no knowledge about antiquity, very little knowledge of the bible, and don't know how to think things through logically in order to come to rational conclusions. God's people are the 12 tribes of Israel, only a fraction of Israelites lived in Judaea, and Judaea only existed for a thousand years out of the over 3 thousand years the Israelites have existed. So, even if "Jew" was a legitimate name, it wouldn't make any sense referring to God's people as "Jews" since less than 1/6 of the Israelites lived in Judaea for less than 1/3 of their existence, and because the kingdom of Judaea ceased to exist 2,000 years ago.

In short the Hebrews mean anyone from the Hebrew ethnic group and Jews means someone following Judaism and israilities means someone from the country or nation of Israel

I watched the video and then read a couple dozen of the comments. Wow! I knew there were differences of opinion on this subject but I had no idea there were so many perspectives. I’d really like to learn more about this subject but I'm 78 so, only if the Lord tarries will I have time to learn about each of the perspectives about which I have read so far. Maybe I can ask people to respond to this comment who agree that: A: Abraham was Hebrew. B: Jacob’s name was changed to Israel. C: Israelites are people who have the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. D: Moses was an Israelite but he was from the tribe of Levi. He was not from the tribe of Judah and thus Moses was not a Jew in any sense of the word. E: After the death of Solomon, the kingdom was divided. F: The northern kingdom continued to be called Israel and the southern kingdom came to be called Judah (the land area occupied by the southern kingdom came to be called Judea) because the majority of the citizens of the southern kingdom were from the tribe of Judah. Eventually, the word, “Jew”, was employed as a designation for all of the citizens of the southern kingdom. Long after the death of Solomon and the division of the kingdom, many of the citizens of the southern kingdom continued to be Israelites in the sense of having the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel (Jacob). G: Ruth became an Israelite by being born again, i.e. by the miracle of her rebirth, Ruth acquired the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. H: Over a period of hundreds of years (maybe as many as a thousand) many of the citizens of the southern kingdom gradually abandoned the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel in favor of a religion based more on rabbinical traditions and traditional interpretations of the Hebrew Bible than on the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel and the instructions given by the creator through the Hebrew prophets of antiquity. By the time Jesus was born, those traditions and traditional interpretations had very nearly obscured the faith of the Hebrew patriarchs and prophets. I: The life teachings, miracles, crucifixion, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus accomplished many things, one of which was to encourage a refocus on the faith of the Hebrew patriarchs and prophets of antiquity and the discarding of SOME (not necessarily all) of the rabbinical traditions and traditional interpretations of traditional Judaism. J: In response to the teachings of Jesus, some of the citizens of the southern kingdom compared the life of Jesus with the prophecies in the Hebrew Bible and concluded that Jesus was the true Messiah that had been foretold by the Hebrew prophets of antiquity. The majority of the Hebrews still living in Judea, however, followed their traditionalist religious leaders in rejecting Jesus. In rejecting Jesus, they were “broken off” (Romans 11) from the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel and were, therefore, no longer truly Israelites. K: People who aren’t Hebrew can become Israelites by faith in the Messiah and are thus “grafted” into the Messiah. This miracle - known as the new birth - does not make them Hebrew or Israelis but it does mean that they are now Israelites (even if they don’t realize all of the implications of faith in the Messiah). L: In the first century A.D. an apostasy began that was similar to that of the citizens of the southern kingdom. Beliefs and practices of the religion of the Greeks, the Romans and others were adopted or adapted for the purpose of making it easier for non-Hebrews to profess faith in Jesus as the Messiah but the adoption of those traditions began to obscure the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, especially as ostensibly Christian “leaders” acquiesced to the hatred toward Hebrews that was rife in the Roman Empire at that time. Ostensibly Christian “leaders” even came to the point of holding subsequent generations of Hebrews culpable in the crucifixion of Jesus. M: Hebrews living in the twenty-first century are NOT culpable in the crucifixion of Jesus. N: It is easier for Hebrews than non-Hebrews to acquire faith in the Messiah. Faith is the evidence of things not seen and almost all of the evidence is acquired by comparing the life of Jesus with the prophecies in the Hebrew Bible (aka old testament). O: It is one thing to pray that many, most or all Hebrews will acquire faith in the Messiah. It is quite another thing to pray that Hebrews will adopt traditions that were never truly Christian but that, over the first several hundred years A.D. came to be regarded as Christian. P: A person doesn’t become an Israelite by adopting the traditions of Judaism, by using Hebrew names for deity or by moving to the modern political nation of Israel and becoming an Israeli.

There are also differences of opinion and many perspectives on the shape of the Earth. but there is only ONE TRUTH. In the case of the subject matter here, the "differences of opinion" are a result of criminal robbery and appropriation of the Israelite identity by the founders of Christianity, and deliberate FRAUD and Misinformation they spread around the world like a viral infection, AND the desperation of victims of Christian Imperialism and Slavery to attach themselves to an identity of victims who were resilient and proud, and in our generation, fought Empires and Armies and WON and took back (some) of their homeland and established a successful modern sovereign State. Israel's Modern History inspired an "awakening" of groups of victims to identify as Israelites. @@777atys6 Most people simply believe what they have been taught without ever questioning it. Many think it is “dangerous” to question what they have been taught. So they just repeat what they have been taught without ever trying to even find better ways to express their beliefs. Anything that sounds different is rejected as “heretical”. Perhaps it was providential that my father repeatedly urged me when I was a boy, “Read for yourself, study for yourself and think for yourself.” I have no college degrees and I’ve never attended seminary classes but, when I study the Bible, I try to be a CAREFUL student. One example is trying to find BIBLICAL definitions (rather than merely dictionary definitions) of key words and phrases. One time, I called a clergyman who I assumed didn’t know me from Adam. When I expressed the assumption that he probably didn’t know who I was, he said, “You’re the theologian.” I don’t know whether it was intended as a complement but I took it that way. I watched the video you suggested. I found it difficult to understand. Enough so that I still don’t know whether Michael Idarecis is encouraging people to adopt the working definitions I posted earlier. Do you think so? Or do you think he is suggesting some other definitions? Michael Idarecis seems to be making a distinction between Israelites and Jews. Do you think he is? If so, for what purpose? Also, do you think there is some implication (perhaps not stated) intended by that particular distinction? Do you have any idea what it is? Matthew 24:14 and Mark 1:14 are examples of the use of the phrase, “the gospel of the kingdom.” I’m aware of how most protestants use the word, “gospel”, and I’m aware that LdS (Mormons) use that word to mean something entirely else. When I say Jesus can never be a political king, I mean something more specific such as a: relating to the things people do to gain or keep power or an advantage within a group, organization, etc. OR b: An adjective used to describe actions or statements which are self-serving. Almost all of the civil governments in recorded history have employed coercion in one form or another. Jesus is an entirely different kind of king. His kingdom is not of this world. If his kind of kingdom could have been established by the use of coercion, he could have chased the Roman soldiers out of Judea, ended the taxation of the Hebrews by the Romans or/and forced the Romans to pay tribute to him One of the things that was demonstrated on Calvary was that he would rather die than be that kind of king. In the twenty-first century, all or almost all observant Hebrews are still looking for a political king. Probably most of the “secular” Hebrews more or less still want and expect a political messiah. Muslims expect Jesus to return to Earth. For what purpose? To coerce everyone to become Muslims. Sadly, the majority of professed Christians also want and expect a political messiah. Which means that they are ripe for deception by a political messiah. To such Christians, the gospel of the kingdom is decidedly not good news. It means that, instead of the return of Jesus giving them the political power they have always craved, their desire to enforce biblical principles (as they understand them) will be thwarted.

See how the word game is played. Israelites spoke Hebrew, the Greeks called them Jews. They got nothing to do with Jewish. They man said it correct, he never said the word Jewish which are Khazars.

Many of the comments below are more accurate than the video. The terms Jew and Judaism came MUCH LATER than the ancient biblical times. Hebrews and Isrealites are correct. If anything their religion 'could' be called Hebrewism.

Eber from Abraham, ( Ibra)him sounds familiar as a prefix. In the (Iber)ia peninsula one of the biggest rivers is the Ebro River. Again the same names. And just to finish in Lisbon Portugal there is the Mount Abraham ( Portuguese: Monte Abraão ) which have some of the oldest ruins in that country, and together with Spain form the two countries of that peninsula. Much more can be added on geography alone in that area, but the person must have studied the Kabala otherwise will not grasp it.

Grateful for your insights in this video and others. LOVE BSF and their mission! One thing, which I suspect was an unintential misspeak... EBer was not a descendant of Abraham... but rather an ancestor. Strangely though, according to the timeline in the genesis genealogy EBer outlived Abraham. Maybe it is presumptuous for me to suggest a reason for you to mention that Eber was an ancestor of Abraham but maybe it is because there is a biblical reference to Abram as being Hebrew. (Genesis 14:13)

If you're trying to find out who Hebrews are. Why not look to the Nigerians, the Igbo. They are called the Jews of West Africa...I believe the one of the spellings of their name is even phonetically similar to Hebrew. It's Heebo... just missing the R.

According to the Israeli historian Arthur Köstler they descend from Khazaria who were Turks and therefore descendants of Japheth. There are records that show their conversion to Judaism. They are called Ashkenazim because according to Köstler they moved towards Germany and Germany is supposed to be a descendant of Ashkenaz who is a descendant of Gomer.

I will still say: That is not the true Isreal. I too use to believe that they were chosen by God. Perhaps, some remnants of the true Isreal have decided to move back there later. However, the new occupants since 1948/1949 are not the true Israel. You must ask, what happened to the original occupants? Judaism, like all other "isms," is not of God. It is a form of satanism. So who are these people? Gentiles. They converted to their own made up religion years ago, which is a mixture of Babylonianism and their own ritualistic practices; taking parts of the Old Testament Scriptures, then merging it with the Babylonian Mystery Religions. Perhaps, they converted to their own religion of Judaism as a way to not displease their neighbors the Roman Catholics(who wanted all to convert to catholism or be destroyed), or their other neighbor, Islam of the Ottoman Empire. So to not be the enemy of either, they invented Judaism as a way of escape. Are they god's chosen people as in satan? Yes. Are they God Almighty's chosen people? No. Didn't their Babylonian Talmud states that Christians are Idol worshipers because they call Christ Jesus, God? Didn't the Babylonian Talmud states that all idol worshipers including Christians are guilty and punishable by beheadings? There is no “pure” arab. Thats like saying pure creole or pure mullatto. Arab is an old world term meaning “mixed tribe” for the settlers and merchants that moved around in the Near East in ancient times. Over time the look of the ruling classes has changed like much of the world to favor the more caucasian looking arabs whos genetic origins are of Turkish descent.

Respectfully, I would like to point out an inaccuracy in your video. The term Jew might have started as being related to Judah, however, it quickly became an all-encompassing name by which all Israelites were known. Paul is called a Jew repeatedly though he was a Benjamite of the diaspora and Levites and priests are called Jews even though they were of the tribe of Levi. I hope this is received in the spirit it is written.

The tribe of Benjamin was part of Judah,therefore it would make sense to call them Jews.Levites were called Jews because the conquerors referred to all inhabitants of Hebrew descent as Jews beginning with the priestly class.I seriously doubt the ancestry of Ashkenazi are all in fact Jews,rather history has dismissed the lost tribes.People that call themselves Jewish are in many cases only Jews by religion ,nothing more.

Peace be with you, reader. The Hebrews were the ones who received the ten commandments from Moses out of Egypt. This was done long before Judea, Judaism, Jew, and Jew-ish were even a thing. The term Hebrew comes from name Heber or Eber, which was Abraham's ancestor who came from Ur of the Chaldees in ancient Sumeria, modern day Iraq. Hebrew is means wanderer or nomad in old Akkadian, the ancestral language of modern day Hebrew. "Eber was a great-grandson of Noah's son Shem and the father of Peleg, born when Eber was 34 years old, and of Joktan. He was the son of Shelah, a distant ancestor of Abraham. According to the Hebrew Bible, Eber died at the age of 464." Abraham was a Hebrew, he was not considered to be a Israelite or a Jew, because those terms refer to his descendants, where as the term Hebrew predates Abraham. Jew comes from Judean and was shortened to Jew after the Babylonian conquest of the Kingdom of Judah, the northern tribes of Israel were already dispersed by the Assyrian Empire at this point. This is why in the modern day descendants of Abraham call themselves Jews, but this term only refers to one of the tribes of Israel, being Judah, even though some Jews claim to be descended from other tribes.

Correct. I would suspect after the dividing of the ancient kingdom of Israel into the northern and southern kingdoms, there would be left over animosity between the Southern kingdom of Judah and the northern kingdom of Israel. It does not surprise me that "Jews" claim the holy land exclusively for themselves, and would not recognize the claim that the northern tribes hold in dormant.......... why? Because where the northern tribes have dispersed to after the Assyrian empires conquest, gives us an idea as to who these people are. Hint, they are not Jewish which will make things very interesting in the final days. True, the house of Judah holds the royal line to where the true future king will spring forth but, where does that line of royalty currently lie? It is defiantly not in the holy land, and defiantly would not be considered "Jewish".

When Messiah, of Ephraim/Israel, manifested on the earth, He was slaughtered by the children of Esau, who were and still are, a "law" unto themselves. The children of Esau are awaiting their moschiach, who is the man of sin, satan in the flesh. The seat of Satan (Rev 2.12) was removed from Turkey and re-built in Berlin, Germany, which is Assyria. @@andrewlee9508 He is the rightful King of the Judeans, because they are living in the land given to Israel by God. Jesus is the rightful king as per David's lineage. But Jesus was not a Judean, he was a Nazarene as the NT expressedly shows us. You have to understand that the word "Jew" does not mean a descendant of Israel per se, but Jew is short of Judea, meaning a Judean, and/or one who follows the religion of Judea, i. e. post Babylonian Judaism, which is based on pharisaic traditions.

That Jesus the Nazarene, of the lineage of Judah, was incorrectly called a Jew, which has only to do with the locality of Judea, but nothing about the lineage of Judah? The premise of your argument is based on your understanding that "Jewish" has nothing to do with "Judah" but has everything to do with being "of Judea". They are in fact one and the same. The Greek text reads, "Βασιλεύς εἰμι τῶν Ἰουδαίων" which literally translates to "Leader of the Jewish nation," in which Strong's Concordance does indeed attribute "Jewish" to "Judaean", however contrary to your argument, "Judaean" means, "belonging to Judah" Now to really throw a wrench in your pursuit of splitting hairs for the term, "Jew", another school of thought claims that Jews do not share a common ancestry, and that people can convert into a "Jew", not convert to "Judaism". That waters down the Jewish identity even more. I'll leave that for you as random food for thought.

@@andrewlee9508 Again, the word Jew does not mean a descendant of Jacob, Israel or Judah. It means a person of Judea or a follower of the religion of Judea, i. e. post Babylonian Judaism. Thus, a Jew is neither necessarily an Israelite, nor necessarily a follower of the OT religion. The gospel tells us that many of the people who believed in Jesus dared not do so openly "for fear of the Jews" , meaning those who devoutly followed the religion of Judaism. Moreover, Jesus left Bethlehem of Judea, went into Egypt and grew up in Nazareth of Galilee. Hence, Jesus is called the Galilean, or Jesus of Nazareth. This was intentional on God's side. Nazareth is outside of Judea. Hence, it was God's will to call Jesus a Nazarene, not a Jew. The Christians were called Notsrim, or Nazarenes, by the Jews, or Judeans. God saw fit that Jesus would not identify with the Jews, by making him a Nazarene and a Galilean.

This is a no-brainer question... ALL believers who read the Bible knew that they are the descendants of Abraham thru Isaac and Jacob and God made a Covenant with Abraham thru his Descendants... God changed Abraham's grandson, Jacob's name into ISRAEL... then, God took them away from Slavery in Egypt and led them to the Promise Land thru their EXODUS... God created the First United Kingdom for the People of Jacob/Israel (Israelites) and put King Saul as their first King, followed by King David... The Kindom was SPLIT into 2 due to the Sin of King David, the NORTHERN Kingdom retained the original name ISRAEL and the people were still called Israelites, while the SOUTHERN Kingdom was called JUDAH, taken from the tribes of Jacob's 4th Son to Leah, named Judah, their people were called JEWS (derived from the name Judah)... to distinguish themselves from the People of the North still called Israelites... When the Babylonian Empire came, the Northern Kingdom of Israel was conquered and Solomon's Temple was destroyed, leaving the Kingdom of Judah in the South unconquered... thus, the People in the Kingdom of Judah called their Faith/Religion in God, JUDAISM ... while the People were called JEWS, to separate themselves from the People of the Northern Kingdom called ISRAELITES that was taken/exiled to Babylon including Prophet Daniel, even though they are all Israelites from the beginning... The kingdom did not split because of the sin of David. There is no proof of that. when did King David commit grevious sin? Is it not his son?

I said, "The Kingdom was SPLIT into 2 due to the Sin of King David."... That was the curse of David from God due to his 2 SINS in 1 account... "ADULTERY resulting in MURDER."... that curse continued to David's Lineage, but that was only stopped when God sent His only begotten Son (Christ Jesus) from David's Lineage through Solomon, David's son to Bathsheba... Fourteen (14) generations from David to Christ Jesus... both Mary and Joseph were direct descendants of King David through Solomon according to the Gospel... Not all Isrelites are Jews. Jews are those who practice Judaism., and they are from the Tribes of Judah, Benjamin, and few Levites. Also, not all Jews are Isrelites, some of those who practice Judaism are Ashkenaze Jews, they are from other Countries, they are not belong to the tribes of Judah, and Benjamin.

I asked, "who were the first Hebrews?" According to Strongs Ibriy - ib-ree H5680 (also from H5677) was an Eberite, a descendant of Eber, a woman! Isn’t it small minded to think God would choose a favorite child? IF were all created by God then we are ALL God’s children and this human created concept of one race or people being better than another is just plain WRONG. Religious texts and people’s past beliefs are interesting introductions to God but reading books or listening to others including myself do not create relationships with God. Other’s’ experiences are interesting but if you really want to know God then walk your own path.

There is a significant difference between "favorite" and "chosen." Once you understand Lucifer's rebellion and God's plan to correct His plan (which the fallen angels mucked up), then you will understand "chosen" (they have a "purpose" instead of being a "preference").

You are free to believe whatever you choose. I don’t see GOD with human egotistical and selfish attributes and “choosing” favorites is a human trait but understandable considering how different people are. We all have the same choices to serve others or serve ourselves but in the big universe we live in a servant of God is no better than a non-servant and since many many many people have been killed in the name of God it is Very questionable what type of man is the better man on a general scale so still boils down to individuality Not a “Chosen” group of people… But I could always be wrong which is why everyone is free to believe as they choose.
