The new hosts have their own presenting style, and will come into their own in time. Tony was a brilliant combination of enthusiastic host and everyman asking good questions that allowed the experts their moments to shine. He wasn't an expert presenting a documentary, he was just passionate about what they were doing and glad to have experts fill in the details for him, and us.

Phil was pretty dishy back in the day! 🔥 It's so fun to see how young they were and the how rudimentary the technology was. How amazing that they worked together, respected each other, and were able to produce so many episodes of this show for us to enjoy.

I'm an American, and a retired evolutionary biologist, and I worked for several years on an archaeology survey team as their osteology consultant and field crewmember. I've been watching TT episodes for abut 3 years now on KZread, and I love them. and once in a while, I stumble on an older one, and and the original cast is there. It's like running into a group of old friends. Watching TT makes me really miss my archaeology days, even though the world was grueling.

I’ve been watching Time Team for as long as I can remember- sometime in the 90s I think. I discovered British crop circles at some point then too and it certainly provided me with intelligent fascinating investigations I could never do myself. Now at 76 I still watch every Time Team I can, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. ❤ Thanks Mick, Phil, John and a cast of thousands for brilliant work that is timeless.

Yes indeed. I love the humour and jibing. You can only have that with a team who know each other. Alice Roberts almost certainly has a sense of humour but it humour cant be used when the presenter is visiting dig after dig for a day or two, and interviewing an exhausted dig leader for whom enthusiasm has long worn off after a month or two. the Time Team knew each other and benefiitted from "early days" excitement. Their work revealed what would repay digs lasting months
