rather than an insertable piece to change its elevation, why not just make the heating element arm adjustable? this gadget is just 1 trick, a portable butane burner is useful for more than just KBBQ. its an actual portable cooking range with several uses, not restricted to the electric outlet. as a Korean, i would pass on it, there are better options with more functionality and different grill pan configurations for KBBQ

If the heating element is below or to the sides and aimed at a more solid structure to retain heat then yes... But why bother when you can do that with a small oven?

I have that same grill and it works great for me here in Korea. Sometimes it gets too hot and starts charring too quickly when cooking galbi ribs. Perhaps it’s a difference in voltage power? My grill is configured for 220V and assuming she’s testing it out in the US, hers is 120V.

Interesting product idea, but this looks more like a prototype with all of its functional flaws. Looking forward to version 2 after some refinements. Zaigle: - Make the heat lamp height adjustable and able to swing out of the way when loading up the pan. - Increase the diameter of the heat lamp to cover the entire pan and put a lip on the pan so food won't easily fall off. - When the improved version is released, send me one for free for helping improve your product and making it a hit seller. :D

they don't even have to do all that. Just add another stand in the package so the plate can be brought closer to the lamp. Problem solved. Or maybe even add a cheaper convex lens that is on a hinge under the lamp surface that will magnify and spread the beam of light. I mean there are quite a few economical things they could actually do to make this a viable piece of kit.

Used this in Korea at my mother in laws home for pork belly. While an interesting idea for a grill. When the the grill gets too hot, the fat from the meat (ie. pork belly) starts to splatter it gets into the heating elements and causes flare ups, from the top down. Not the best and a bit expensive.
