OMG didn't realize it was that bad, our Airstream had about 6-7 panels with dings and our rock guards were pelted by 50-70mph winds, our rig is going to Dallas shop in Sept. But the Rally was a Blast and we were ok, looks like you all were ok just our Rigs. Keep the Faith it will be all ok.

I really feel for you guys when my son was 18mths old we had a huge hail storm my husband was at work so my baby and I hid in the bathroom we lost half our roof and a dozen windows. It was horrific the noise was so out there. It's now 40yrs on and hail storms only bother me a little now. As long as the three of you are safe. You can always replace stuff.

oh my word! But like you said, nothing you can do but find that silver lining (or silver trailer ahah), and keep on rolling! I am glad you guys are safe! Stuff can be fixed!

So sorry you guys got this damage, however you could have been driving and lost windshields and side windows. So glad your family is safe!!

Its understandable glad you're safe thanks for sharing i like your rv van its big enough and like you said you wont be in it all day with good weather and its fixable which is good

You need to check to see if the camp site has a bad weather shelter for you to go to if the weather gets real bad

The stress is understandable. It’s a brand new RV. Yes there is insurance but I can get how upsetting it was.

The hailstorm that you got at the Rawlins KOA also hit the early rally attendees at Rock Springs (us). It was a wicked storm. Thankfully, the hail was not large enough to cause any damage.

Aww! I feel your pain. So hard to go from brand spanking new to such major damage. So sorry, hopefully it can all be fixed good as new.

Now the van has character! Some dents may disappear with heat/sun on it. Hail is tough on rvs, not just ASs .hope everything works out, stay safe.

Like you said, you need to stay positive and look on the bright side - the dimples in a golf ball make it more aerodynamic so it goes farther. Just think what the ones on the van are going to do for your fuel mileage! See positive! 😂. Safe travels my friends.

Hurricane Ian 🌀 came through a few weeks after I got my new TT. I hadn't purchased my truck yet so moving a 40ft TT was not happening. I took the dogs and went north and we rode it out in one of my condos. I had called my insurance company and they said that I would be covered at up to MSRP if it was totaled. Luckily there were just a bunch of limbs and a ton of Spanish Moss all over the place, but there were trees down a few lots down from me. Dodged that one, bought a truck, and now I can hook and book if we get any hurricanes 🌀 this year. This will be my last year in FL for a while. Guess I'll have to watch out for hail!! Glad you all are safe.

Hopefully after your RV is fixed, there will be no more hail storms. I am thinking that after you report it, you will be on their schedule for the repairs to be made in a timely time.

Dash needs a jump seat with a car seat so he can be closer to mommy and daddy.

I love it the sliver Airstream you In a nice storm and winter freeze in Texas Naya Chris and this one in a hailstorm in Nebraska they're both airstreams they both got winter what do you expect❤❤😂😂

I feel your pain. Hail destroyed my van on I-76 90 miles outside of Denver. Literally destroyed it. The insurance company totaled my new van as well. I had glass literally inside from the destroyed windshield. You can see video on my channel here of what happened. I hope it all works out for you.Based on my experience I think they will offer to fix the dings and cosmetic stuff that broke. Mine needed an entire new roof so they decided to total it. They almost tried to replace the roof before they thought better of it.

I’m so sorry about the van, but thankful y’all are ok and didn’t get caught in a tornado. Btw is the bed comfortable? My husband and I trying to decide which luxury van to get 😊❤️❤️❤️

OMG, you poor guys. Spring storms in the mid west. Usually hail somewhere. I think this year there were some places even in Mississippi that had softball size hail. Usually during spring, I was always looking for those green clouds haha.

We were in a hotel room during Hurricane Charley and our SUV was totaled because the hotel room had gravel on it that pelted the vehicles in the parking lot. Glad no broken glass so everything inside ok and driveable

I used to live in NE and it hailed all the time. Everyone had a garage. Car dealers had BIG garages and would pull every single car into buildings off the lot and hail damage was the top claim for cars and roofs. It’s not typically as BIG a storm you went through but hail and rain combo was common.

The reason why your RV got all those dimples during the hail storm is because the the body is all strutted aluminum, almost the same as the trailers they manufacture. I've been an Rv owner for over 30 years, all my RVs have been class A made of fiberglass, never have I had a single dimple during a hail storm and we have been through many. I love the Airstream look, but what has kept me from buying one is exactly that... the strutted aluminum they use on the body that makes it prone to quick damage, basically you have a body made of a sheet of paper. I would never pay $300,000 for an rv that has such a fragile body. The Aluminum they use today, specially during and after covid is so paper thin! The old airstream trailers hold their value for many reason... 1) the aluminum was much thicker than the crap thin material they use today and 2) they overall quality of the older Rvs was much better than it is today, specially since there's so many Chinese junk used in the manufacturer. Another thing that has lowered the overall quality of the Airstream is that they are no longer the old family owned Airstream of yesteryears, they now belong to Thor since 2020. Quality since then has taken a real dip! If I ever buy an Airstream it definitely will not be one manufactured after 2020!

OMG 😱, I live in Sidney, Nebraska and I’ve followed you since day 1 and we’re snowbirds in SW Florida. We have our AS International always in a barn to protect it from hail… every year. Being wheat 🌾 and corn 🌽 farmers we loose crops to hail every year, insurance is a must in the High Plains.

Oh, Jim, that’s a terrible story. Sorry that happened.

Your insruiance company will total it out and cut you a check ... then you can buy it back for 1/16th oif the price and still get to keep your home... What ever you do make sure you buy it back...

Are you in Rawlins RV park up on the hill? We stayed there earlier this year after fleeing Longmont CO after an overnight hailstorm, and they were calling for even more the next day. We boogied our 28RBT out of Longmont and headed towards Teton. Good luck with the insurance. We've got a claim going, but waiting to get back to SC to have our local Airstream Dealer give us an estimate on all the dings on the front and rear caps. Truck got some dings on the hood as well, but I can live with that I think. We'll see.
