How does this affect your cars battery life..? I have heard that it drains cam your car battery. I am picking up a thinkware today. I’m hoping it does not drain my civics battery overnight

Hey Isaac, The little packet included in the dashcam box is silica gel. It absorbs moisture so in a way I guess it helps keep the electronics fresh, or at least uncorroded. I wish the car companies would make dash cams a part of the standard equipment. They could design them to be fully integrated in the interior And much less noticeable. The next accessory for my Tacoma will be a dashcam. Thanks for a very good review !!

Loved your video. It looks like a great cam from Thinkware, but, what were they thinking? The rear camera just placed in the bottom of the box with all the rest of the hardware!! One would think a camera, in order to protect the lens, would be placed in a secure location like the main unit. To be honest, I’ve seen better packaging on cheaper no name brands. Still, a great video. Thanks.

What is the Maximum Sized Card you can put in? 256??? I've had an incident where someone broke into my Garage in the middle of the night, but when I pulled the 16 card out it had already been recorded over.

The rear camera plugs into the front camera.

Does this offer live view? Because I’ve seen reviews from sellers that say it doesn’t and videos that say it doesn’t but this one it does say that it has a live view

Yes, I have been able to pull up the live view on my phone.

I enjoyed this review. The thing he mentioned about lens being to the right of the camera causing something to block part of the picture-in watching another review I saw that he could have mounted it upside down and corrected the image on the phone app (problem solved).

You still plug it in via the OBD-2 plug with hardwire, but you hide the wires. You can also connect it to the battery directly if you want.

what parking settings did you have it set for? Also brightness settings?

That’s what I’m trying to see cause my car was broken into and didn’t catch anything till the morning when it was bright

I read you can plug it into the odb port, but what about if you need the obd port one day for diagnostic? I asume the camera will loose connection until you plug it back into the odb port correct? also, since I have a garage to park my car, is there a way I can not have parking mode on during this time and then reactivate?

I have my car parked in the garage as well with my dash cam. If you have parking mode enabled, leave it on that. The camera will switch to continuous mode when you start your vehicle. You do not want to deactivate parking mode because if you do and you go someplace and park and parking mode is not enabled and something happens, then that footage will not be recorded.

I'm leaving for a road trip across the country in 5 days. I've been watching hours of dascam reviews, and I've watched a few videos of this particular dashcam. Key features I'm looking for (besides what it offers akready). 1- Does the Thinkware app allow you to view what the camera is filming if the G-sensor is triggered? 2- I'd like to get an immediate notification on my phone when my car is parked and something triggers the dashcam. 3- When this notification happens, I'd like to be able to view what the camera is filming, "live." Imagine I'm overnighting at a motel on the road, and I don't have a direct view of my car, this would be very useful for safety. 4- Is there a setting to adjust how much footage will be kept permanently upon being triggered? ​Like set ​prior to trigger and​ ​2 to 3 minutes "after"? 5- Will the car battery drain due to having TWO camera plugged overnight? 1. Yes there is a live view. And it does save clips when the G-sensor is triggered. 2. I don't know about the immediate notifications. I'm gonna guess it does not do that. 3. Like I said there is a live view you can check whenever you want. 4. to adjust how much footage will be saved you need a larger memory card. 5. Depends on the car, some cars will, some will not.

So many of these dashcams have upsetting layouts. My car has a really bulky rearview mirror and the rain sensor is to the right. By the time I leave space for the lefthand power input, the righthand camera lens is nearly a foot off-center on my car. The mount itself looks incredibly cheap, too. Blackvue puts the lens on the left, but the mount is way on the far right side which means the curve of the windshield will have the camera pointing towards the right corner of my car. There's no winning. My Mini 0807 has the most compact design but quality and reliability are unacceptable.

Do you have to pay every month fee or service ...??? ...

The only think I don’t like is you cannot monitor parking mode unless you actually are connected to the app. I wish f200 pro was compatible with their other cloud app

I just bought the F200 2.5 months ago had it installed. Install was great, dashcam not so much. Just try to find the data on it after a day of driving. Needed to find footage from yesterday and there was nothing. What a POS. Like your post though. LOL

Well, they told me to be honest and never got back to me after I posted this lol. I promise I was fair, the only compensation I received was the dashcam itself. And it still works great to this day.
