you might need to check and make sure you are putting your Playstation in the right mode, it seem like if the ps5 isnt already on your account than it cant access it.

It's not internet speed (At least at home), is more about your wifi connection, so your router and the distance you are from it. Even with a 15mbps connection it can work fine.

Fasho I mean when I was at target I was getting 15mbp but I was barely able to get a good gaming experience in or get a full 1080p resolution. But yea fasho if you are at home on your own network you should be able to have a good time fasho 💯

I wanna ask one thing what if im using it away from home will it turn on my tv like is it a tv but in ur hand or just streaming the game from the tv ?

So essentially this is mirroring your ps5. So you need internet for ps5 and portal. As far as the TV goes. If you are away from home depending on your TV it may turn it on. But it doesn't have to be on but the ps5 will need to be on for the portal to access it. If that make sense? Hopefully I answered your question.

@BaryonMode-Gear5th yes from my understanding if you put the ps5 in rest mode properly than you should be able to remove the hdmi cord from tv.

Power on PS5 > Turn off HDMI Device Link > Enter Rest Mode > Leave home

Me give you a honest review on the PlayStation portal when it first came out picked one up. It worked terrible. If you did have one when it first came out you would know this after the latest update that just came out a little while back before the new year, the PlayStation portal works awesome now even if you had good Internet before the PlayStation portal did not work at all it was just bad but I do have to say after this new update I’m having a blast on it Two major problems still touchscreen still is terrible for the controller part. Second thing that is a major problem is trying to turn on your system when it’s in sleep mode. Sometimes it works most of the time it does not. I have to literally go in there and turn it on myself .

Yea for me from launch day I didn't have much problem, but I also only bought this handheld to play cod and yea was very very disappointed. But I mean hey the portal is streaming to the ps5 and the ps5 is streaming to the internet so I mean hoe fast can this thing even be But I mean it is what it is, for the most part it's a good handheld when I'm playing anything normal like spiderman etc.

my internet speeds is 840 mbps downloads and 230 mbps uploads so for the most part pretty fast.

I bought it and it worked fine at home. Decided not to test further and just go to my parent's. It didn't wake up the ps5 at all even tho it's in rest code 😂. Seems the issue with me is having set up a password and the ps portal doesn't have the UI options to select profile and enter password. Truly baffling lack of effort by Sony.

Yea I have experience this once before. Yea the only solution to this is just making sure before you leave your ps5 you are log into your account and than put it in rest mode. I think along as it hasn't been turned off it shouldn't boot you all the way back to having to log back in.

To be honest I like tech, diy projects and setup and so I normally buy and do these kinds of things so I figured why not see if I can make videos about it. I'm already some what experience with editing and using cameras and the goal for me is to get big and get products for free and hopefully make some money along the way and providing information on stuff which I hoe can be helpful to people.

@@PartyBoyyTv Lag has nothing to do with data that's stored. Lag is your network connection, ping, and the game servers. Local performance is dependent on your GPU and CPU, then RAM, and last is storage.

Yep I understand but the portal game is lagging because it is mirroring to the ps5. And the ps5 is streaming internet. It's almost no way to stop that form of lag. However if the game was stored on the portal it would be streaming directly from the portal like a ps5. The reason I said put maybe 200 g of storage. But sony probably didn't want to go that way cause people would have than hacked the portal and basically made it a fully functional ps5 handheld without the system.

It doesn’t matter if it has onboard storage. Give it 100TB it will still not play any game locally. That Snapdragon is not up to the task, and neither is any other component, and it’s not supposed to be. This is a streaming device pure and simple. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad device, I love mine, it was just never designed to run games locally.

T-Mobile hot spot doesn’t work 😞

Or your family has a ps5 but you wanna go to college and game but you can’t bring the ps5 so you buy this because it’s $300 cheaper or you just don’t want to have god of war or grand theft auto or other M rated games on the tv where your kids could see it using this makes it less likely there exposed to the violence or bad language. Or if you don’t mind hot spotting but want to hook up the game on the go just other reasons to use it

Playing on an iPhone using backbone loads faster. Like 5-10 seconds fast based on my experience.

It was one of the worst products I've ever bought. Returned it after an hour of use.

It’s terrible. If you have your PlayStation in sleep mode 90% of the time it does not wanna work it does not turn it on literally have to walk in the other room and turn it on and it literally always takes usually 2 to 3 minutes for it to turn on the system if it does want to turn on the system in the first place, so no it’s not fast it’s majorly slow and that’s if it works or not

Yes and I definitely understand playstation need to do something with how this handheld wake up the ps5. Like you said sometimes it works but alot of times it doesn't which in result you would have to turn it on. But in the case could Ruin the whole experience, say if yoy out of town and don't have the option just to go turn it back on. Than the whole result for bring the handheld would be a waste 😮‍💨🤦‍♂️

$200 for latency, no bluetooth, can't use a bunch of wifi networks, no PS+, and you need a $500 console for it to do anything

​​@@joelmeza123i have both. I think ps remote app is flawed or broken. Remote Play on daughters ipads , galaxy tab and Samsung galaxy ultra using the backbone stutters like hell on my local network. I even upgraded my router and still having the same issues. Get this, when remote on another network or stationary on mobile 5G ps remote play works beautifully. That does not make sense! On my portal it works beautifully on my Local or remote on another network. This tells me they prioritize the portal and or ps remote play app on 3rd party devices is broken.
