Regarding the meat though, if you live in the towns in provinces (not big cities), there is a local market with fresh supply of vegetable and meat everyday. The butchery sells meat processed on same day (usually 4am then bring to the market by 6am) . In our town, you have to go to the market the latest is 8am because around 10am, all newly butchered meat and fresh veggies are sold out by then. I guess the ´imported meat’ is more prevalent in Metro Manila due to high demands.

I was walking around the different neighborhoods around Lahug, apas, I.T. park etc. I even had Filipinos telling me that I shouldn't be walking around at night but honestly I never even had one moment where I felt in danger. I absolutely love it here, the people, the culture (some of) the foods. The point the gentleman from Honduras made about the quality of meat is on point but I eat imported U.S. beef mostly so it's all good. Philippines is just like any other country in the world. Beautiful islands, nice people, nice malls, nice towns, nice provinces, nice cities paired with corruption, poverty, low wages, scams, frauds, thieves, gangs, bad politics, etc. The rich steals from the poor, how do you think the rich stays rich, right? Every country has dangerous places and areas of course, you have to do research and ask people around where is safe to stay. If you're a drinker and like night life then be cautious, as a foreigner even though you're not a troublemaker trouble can find you just round the corner if you're not careful enough. Thank God I don't have that issue as I personally don't smoke and drink drink so I avoid those places far away. This type of video is very generic, the Philippines has thousands of islands and a population of about 100 million people, asking 5 or 6 people in a vlog about these questions won't give you the full picture just a very thin generic view. Girls just as much dangerous as guys and sometimes they work together to use you or scam you so you have to be vigilant and careful. However the general consensus about the Filipino people being friendly is true indeed but then again don't think every single people you meet on the street are friendly. Most people yes and most people not, it's just the way it is. If you can find a good Filipino girl - which is not impossible but again be vigilant and careful - who loves you for who you are and takes care of you and looks after your "money" , & has good family too who loves and respects you, those type of girls are gold and worth settling down with.

Just like anywhere else on this planet, Criminals, murderous crooks and thieves, drug addicts, sex offenders exist. And Philippines is no exemption.. However, generally speaking we Filipinos for some weird reason look up to foreigners, thanks to 300 years as subjects under Spanish colonization..Be honest and nice and you will have a blast here..On a side note,if youre not used to traffic forget our major cities..Its hell here! Go to the islands..

to be frank, the answer to that last dude's question (expat living in the Philippines) is yes. he specified scammers and pickpockets and things like that. generally if you keep your wits about you and don't walk around like the Philippines is some crime free island then you will mostly be fine but if not then you will be susceptible to scammers (ESPECIALLY the taxi drivers near the airports when you come in or almost any main tourist attraction/hub). just try to stay away from areas that look sketchy but again you just have to have street smarts in those instances and be able to read people who come up to you asking for things or if you need a ride somewhere, things like that. even Filipinos themselves will tell you they don't trust their own people when it comes to scamming. they can be very creative to get money out of you. remember that it is a 3rd world country. 😅

Most countries are a mixed bag. Some parts of the Philippines can be unsafe. I don't like the animal welfare due to neglect and dogs are mostly not trained/trained well and the somewhat conservative culture despite the increase of liberalism amongst the youth and those who are disillusioned with Philippine society.

Philippines is categorized as a dangerous country for tourists but they don't do mass shooting here instead a few cases of thief that are common to individual, and if you want to be safe stay home when it gets dark, that's how simple when it comes to crime.

Due to past presidential decision, religious turmoil, political tension, high death due lack of safety standards, natural disasters, and poverty, not to mention western media portrait of certain areas of the world. This video highlights the opposite. It promotes Philippines as a safe place to visit.

The crime rate is very high. The intentional homicide rate is at 6.46 per 100k population which is the highest in South East Asia. If you plan to visit South East Asia, Philippines is the place where the chances are the highest to be murdered.

True. Everyone has a different experience. I guess it depends on the type of activities one is evolved on or the people that they surround themselves with.
