I enjoy the fact that the nitro deck is all one piece, which creates stability. I hate the wobble of the joycons while playing handheld. this is one thing that I loved about the lite, no wobble. I also can't help but think the nitro deck (when switch is docked) that it looks like an old school game gear, the king of handhelds (he said it!)

Does the bottom right analog stick get in the way of your right thumb when reaching for the B, A, Y & X buttons? Juts like the Joy-con's, the right stick is positioned directly below those 4 buttons, which kind of sucks. They had no choice really, otherwise placing it diagonally would of made the ND too wide. It's style and compactness over comfort. And i always play my Switch 95% of the time docked, on a 65" S90C QD-OLED, but it would be neat just to have the SNES NitroDeck + Switch OLED to play retro pixel art games in hand held just for kicks. That bulk worries me though! :P The lack of HD Rumble won't even matter in my case anyways since i don't like playing modern Switch games on a 7" WOLED screen.

Got mine today, and there are two things that no one is mentioning in their reviews. 1) If the Switch is in sleep mode and inside the Nitro Deck, you can't turn it back on using the home or any other button. You must press the power button of the Switch itself. Minor inconvenience, but still. 2) EVERY SINGLE TIME you turn on/wake up the Switch while in airplane mode, the system will give you the error message of needing to attach the joycons, which doesn't make sense since it's in the Nitro Deck to begin with. I have a different 3rd party grip controller that I use on my other Switch and don't have that issue. Just thought I'd throw this out there since no one's mentioning it.

With your second point, my Switch is always in airplane mode, and I don’t have that issue. No error message on my end at all.

I have it ! I have both Switch models and decided to put the 1st gen screen on it. It looks badass ! Everything works great, I just don’t like that it rumbles way too much during gameplay for my taste. Otherwise it’s way better than the joycons. Everything is high quality and mine came with a nice case and nice charging cable and extra buttons.

I haven’t had much additional time with mine but I’m looking forward to messing around with it more!

Would you recommend this to someone who is on the go alot? I have huge hands and a strong grip so I feel that the wobbly and flimsy joy cons never really felt too good. my biggest concern is the price being 100$ or 75$ without case (even though I definitely need a case)

How small are your hands? I think this would be great for me who plays handheld only and has big hands (i.e. I love The Duke controller and I type 1 handed on my s23 Ultra without issue).

I really like the concept. Would love to see it compared directly to the Hori Split Pad Pro.

I also got the SNES version of the Nitro Deck. I admit that im still trying to get use to the bulk and the right thumb stick is lower in placement than I'd liked but it is a more comfortable grip for me personally than reg joy cons.

Thanks for the video! I'm getting the same version on Saturday if DHL tracking is correct. I'm super pumped. I've been using the Hori Split Pad Compacts to play in handheld mode so I'm looking forward to the additional features of the Nitro Deck. I don't think I'll mind the bulk. I've got large hands so hopefully the bulkiness won't be an issue for me. I think what would make it better is if it had video output option. Then it would be a great to pair with a 3rd party mini dock while traveling.

I don’t see why it would be a necessary thing since it would need to have a hdmi port on it in order to allow it to work as a dock and you would have to be close to the tv/monitor OR have a long cable running through your room and it’s mostly meant to be a handheld sort of accessory and in that case running a long hdmi cable is the same as running the usb-c to usb-A to the switch dock.

@@Precise_Ant76 I’ve had a few hours to play with the Nitro Deck and the thing that stands out is how solid-feeling it is compared to the Split Pad Compacts. I don’t like the wobble with the Split Pad Compacts but I do think they are a better option for traveling with. Especially with the tomtoc case. It’s really slim and sleek and fits into a bag nicely. The Nitro Deck has amazing face buttons and thumb sticks. The triggers are pretty good too. I played some Mario Odyssey with the Nitro Deck and it feels really good. I wish the right thumb stick was a little higher and slightly to the left and I also wish there was some outward flare to the sides which would make it more comfortable for longer play sessions.

I was curious and the main gripe I have is the chance of the nitro deck scratching the back of the switch since I plan on getting a special edition Oled one and I don’t want the back to be scratched up and lol I hate hollow cheap feeling things like the switch pro controller so that good to hear that it’s solid!

I have tried both the Satisfye grip and Skull&Co grip. Definitely the Skull&Co is better for my hand size. Been using them for years and no problems with them. I prefer the small grips because it keeps the small profile of the console and it's better for travel with the case. The Nitro Deck looks comfortable but too bulky for my style. Kinda expensive too.

does anyone knows if it fits in the Skull & Co. carrying case?

I was on board to pre order one as I literally do all of my gaming in handheld and needed something a little more robust, but some reviews came out and said that the right joystick is in an odd position. I would be curious to hear your thought on that matter after a few days. That’s the only thing holding me back from purchasing.

Yeah just depends on ones preference I have giant hands , my hands would cramp up with the switch until I got the satisfye grip for it , I also got the split pads but I don’t like the fact it doesn’t have rumble or gyro which is why I ultimately stayed with the satisfye grip. Hopefully this one fixes the issues I had with the hori split pads. I find the steam deck to be perfectly fine but I know those with smaller hands find it hard to hold or too heavy.

Just got mine and honestly, unless you have small hands, it’s not meant for anyone with big hands and I’m only 5”8 so my hands aren’t huge but it cramps using the nitro deck.

Fr all of the others are of the game cube purple color and this snes one I was most interested in lmao 😂

I thought this piece of art is capable of docking the switch to the tv but instead it just an accessory for handheld.. the quality of the nitro deck seem top notch but to solve the grip and wobbly joy con issue you could just get neogrip from skull & co instead.. still can insert to your dock and is still pocketable.. just my 2 cent opinion.. overall great review

I was initially disappointed but after using for a few weeks ill admit its pretty good. Especially with the OLED its a great way to play..I will say i still do not like how it inserts/ releases ....if you plan to switch back and forth to your dock I dont know if I can recommend it as i can see the screen getting damaged and the back definitely getting scuffed up. If you mostly use handheld id say a great option

i regret mine and it's not returnable. it seems high quality but it's too chunky and loud to me. the joycons definitely have their problems but i misinput way less on them than the nitro deck. i installed hall effect sticks on my joycons and haven't had any drift so i should've stayed with that

This is the first "negative" review I've seen. The positive review I did see really sold me on it, tho. Still, great first impression. It's interesting how people are so different. I hate the feel of the joy cons while you do. That heft and bulkiness is what I'm looking for.

I got the exact one and I cant deny, I'm let down by this. I play a lot of handheld due to travel which is why this appealed to me. I really hate the shoulder buttons they feel off. The unit looks good yes, but does not feel great to use. Also had the same sticker residue issue. Removing the switch is terrible !! You literally have to put pressure on the screen, whoever designed it that way is a fool . I have a Switch Lite and its still much better. I actually wish they would just make an OLED Switch Lite so i can be done with it

It was between this and the new Satisfye Ronin. I went with the Ronin because I fell in love with the previous iteration of their grip and it's dock-able. I have a feeling a Nitro-deck 2 is coming with the way Limited Run does business.

It makes the Switch more stable and the comfort is probably there. But I’m not sure I like the bulky form factor. It appears bulkier than the Wii U pad.

Some guys like me can't stand the form factor of the switch. I don't really have big hands but my hands do cramp when using the switch. Only time it didn't is when I was using the binbok slim controllers. But they don't have hall effect joysticks. So I can't wait to try the nitro deck.

The ergonomics of this thing leave much to be desired especially if you like playing games that use the D-pad or the right stick. If they were going for a Steam Deck like experience as the name implies then they should have moved the d-pad and right stick to the top or they should have flared the sides out at the bottom and moved the right stick up higher. Also, I disagree with your comment about the Nitro Deck being unique - there are already several attachments out there similar to this that have been out for about a year now, the Retroflag being one of them.

Nobody has answered this question yet, what is the play time using this controller??

Try it with Xenon Racer and you will likely get the hang of back buttons ZR & R just make sure to flip them and you nolonger have to use your palm to operate Right Stick. I still feel a better conformed grip will need to be added for completely comfortable FPS Shooter operation. And I say that because maybe ppl will use it on other systems too. for me I own an xbox and a Mayflash Magic X, this handy adapter also allows wired controllers! So you know what that means.. Oh! I disable ZL & L back buttons...duh

I can still buy it today from Amazon so I guess it wasn’t limited 😂😅

There are already alot of offbrand, one piece usb c controller hubs like this in amazom; and while this may be a bitt better; it doesn't seem that special. The name made me think this also had a built in dock and could connect the Switch to the TV (a missed opportunity to be special). The fact that the next gen Switch, may be next year; doesn't make me want to buy accessories that may not fit that model.

Thought about that too but what are the chances you won’t use both switches and this has everything the joycons have plus turbo and I highly doubt the next switch will be much bigger so I’d say it just might fit

Look at your left thumb when playing SMW?!?! That looks crazy painful. I can't hold my thumb like that to play games. The D-pad and right stick are HORRIBLY placed.
