Metroid Prime Remaster actually looks really good and has very good image quality honestly. They did a TON of work to it and it runs at an essentially locked 60fps.

In System Shock the horror is more the atmosphere maybe. I can't really remember the original that much, but I don't think it had like jumpscares. It was just more "they're out to get me" and music intensifying etc.

Sherlock holmes: the awakened is a remake of the original game from 2008. some company did a Kickstarter to remake it.

I was really interested in Wanted Dead but some of those points were definite deal breakers for me, way too frustrating. If some of it gets ironed out post launch or if I can catch it on a deep sale I might still check it out.

Overall, the game's execution was done poorly. The difficulty is unbalanced, and the gameplay does not feel tight enough. Sometimes they try to make minigames and breaktime like in the Yakuza series, but they are linear sections and do not blend well with the main game and the pacing. The narrative conclusions are unsatisfying. Even their promotional materials, such as the music video on KZread, tell a more compelling story than the main game. Furthermore, the game only lasts about five or six hours. But the game is still enjoyable, has its charm, and feels like a Tarantino film or a B movie. I agree to wait for a deep sale if anyone wants to try this game.

In Europe even Breath of the Wild is already 70 bucks (even now years after release), so I am surprised that this is a first in the US.

As for Hogwarts Legacy JP. Spiders! A metric ton of spiders, so not your cup of tea.

Wanted: Dead has two difficulty settings. normal/hard/. HOWEVER, there is a 3rd hidden difficulty setting. if you do too many times it will get unlocked.

Metroid 2 was released Nov 1991 (NA), and EU/JP early 1992 30+ years (i loved these games too.)

Title: lol can we stop pretending gamers are actually price sensitive? Every time we see price increases the impact on game sales is minimal or nothing. Indie games have SHOT UP in price over the last year and they are doing fantastic...despite the price increases vastly trumping anything in the AAA space by percentage. Nintendo could literally DOUBLE the cost of Zelda and they might lose out on 10% of game sales. The overwhelming majority would still pay. We had tons of people paying $1000+ for the PS5...when there weren't any games out for it. Just goes to show how not price sensitive the market can be.

Imagine if Cohh, Zeke and JP said "Just open Twitter to see all the news and information about God of War and Elden Ring, that's where you can go for all that news and information". The way they showed zero respect to a high profile game release is just.. mind boggling. It'll be in game of the year lists for many people. It's one of the most faithful video game adaptations of any book series.. ever. not worth talking about? aiight. I understand they have their biases, but they're really showing their age with not even giving Hogwarts Legacy a segment (or any of them seemingly playing the biggest release of the year so far).

The difference is that they all played Elden Ring and God of War. None of them has played Hogwarts Legacy, so what do you want them to say about it? "Yeah, none of us have played it, but we heard it's good." That wouldn't be a good segment, to say the least.

Hard disagree.. I have 12 games on Steam with 100+ hour playtime, 2 of them at 1100+.. 70 bucks for any of them seems like solid value no matter how you slice it..

@@Wirenfeldt1990 Playtime isn't the only factor that determines if a game is worth it though. If it was you could argue that almost any game is worth any price. Call of Duty? "Well I've played 1200+ hours of it. If the average game is 20 hours long and costs 60 dollars, then they should charge roughly 3600 dollars for it." That's fair right? Cause more playtime = charge more? Nope. An industry standard has already been set for games to cost 60$. Based on a mixture of length/quality/cost to make. Nothing in the industry has changed to cause the 10$ price hike besides greed. So yea, any game charging 70$ isn't worth it. Because it isn't providing anything more than a 60$ game could have.

Some games may cost more because of the license for the tools they are using. talented employees; the cost of marketing. The greedy publisher is the worst-case scenario. At the end of the day, it is difficult to justify the price. People value different things.

@@simplynoah5034 video games have not kept up with inflation at all. A NES cart would cost $50 in 1990, and inflation is 120% since then. So realistically, if game prices kept up with inflation, industry standard would be over $100. It's one of the few industries so far behind inflation adjustments.

Plus everyone who complains not to buy-it, you can just get Gamepass and let Microsoft pay Mundfish royalties. He might have to go Sub mode, though. I'm surprised the Discord settled down for Hogwarts the week of release as I thought the modding team would have to crack down.
