Just to compare. A ninja 250 weighs 151kg. The superleggra is 1kg heavier than a ninja 250, that's insane

You have to appreciate a company who pushes engineering and technology boundaries to the limits just based on their passion and devotion to the sport. How many times have we seen the innovations from these elite machines filter down into the mass production bikes. Cheers to Ducati!!!

@@deanbankes2548 I don't think many if any of Koenigsegg's technologies have tricked down to normal cars in the slightest. They build things on an unlimited budget that can never trickle down. With bikes it's different, because even the most expensive ones aren't THAT expensive. I think most superbikes today owe their traction/wheelie control to Ducati introducing it in the 1098R IIRC and later the more affordable 1198S.
Worth every dollar, what a beast, the Ducati Superleggera V4, an Italian masterpiece. 🇮🇹🏁

I would not ride it either, every scratch or stone chip on this bike would make my heart sink..............Some bikes are just made to be saved for prosperity and this is one of those.
Ducati lovers dreamed about this bike a long time ago... Perfection
For the ultimate value/perf, I own a higly modified V4S corse (price paid:28K). Instead of buying the full akra for 7K, I buyed the arrows exhaust for 2K and a pair of Rotobox bullet carbon rims for 4K. I removed all stock mirror, Turn signal and legal stuff. Monocoque carbon subframe (2,5K) was added and 520 chain conversion (0,5K). The result? 230 crank hp on dyno and weight saving is 14kg. This translate in 160kg dry weight. The final result: power to weight = 1,43 for less than 38 000€, which mean close to superleggera perf for a down to earth price. Can you beat that price to power ratio ? 🙂 It's ton of fun to ride on legal road and a weapon at my local track !

Alex D to be fair its one of the most expensive bikes and only 100k thats really not much if you think of it as the super car of bikes. 100k really isnt alot interms of cars bikes have always been good value for money since its a smaller market
@deanbankes2548
4 жыл бұрын
@@freerider8737 agreed. anything that is at the pinnacle will be exponentially more expensive. That last 10% of quality and performance can often cost 5-10x more. That's the case with almost anything. Cars, motorcycles, boats, watches, guns, etc. For some people, having the best is worth it, and for others, having 90% of the quality/performance for much less money makes sense. Either viewpoint is appropriate. It's what is important to you that makes something worth the money, not what's important to others.

I wish you talked about the MV Agusta F4, one of the special editions. The last one I believe only about 100 of them were made at around $100k so it would have been a good option to compare against in many levels. Also made with lots of carbon and crazy power, and even more limited than the V4SL.

Cool. Now when I lane split doing 50 MPH, I can knock of car mirrors with me winglets! The real test of this bike is whether it'll run after the first 2000 miles.
@rsajay6256
4 жыл бұрын
I still want to see how the winglets affect traction in a high speed sweep when the down force is pushing the tyres in an inconvenient direction... These Ducati winglets sound like Aprilia's first gen V4R and Dorsoduro fuelling system that altered AFR on the fly. Mine's locked up it's back wheel a few times at speed because of the fuelling changing in a corner. An interesting idea that wasn't thought out to it's conclusion of "Oh fuck, maybe we shouldn't do that after all"

I cant afford it nor I'd buy it even if i could afford because I love riding my bikes to their fullest potential. But I'm really glad that this piece of art exists. Really happy for the people who buys it.
The rims on the bike were designed and produced by BlackStone Tek, not by V4Evo.
If I could afford it.... I’d buy it. It’s stunningly beautiful 😍
Firstly I just want to say awesome video! As a owner of a V4, unless you were planning to do major track days with this new V4 superleggera I don’t think the value is there (just for the bike). The standard and the s model are so good it does not make sense to spend that kind of money on a “motorcycle“ (for which there such a small market for motorcycle enthusiast). However, I don’t know if you knew this, but Ducati says if you buy one of these bikes they will fly you out to Italy to do training with a professional Ducati rider and you get to ride a Ducati sbk bike.... For me, that’s where I found the value; in the bike and the experience.
Very nice although I'm not keen on it in the red !
V4 r Spend the rest on track days learning to pilot the damn bike so I don't kill on the road
You would think those front spoilers would push the bike laterally across the road when leaning into corner... Unlike a race car where the spoiler puts force straight down into road giving better grip on corners

The Ducati hands down dude
I know it's meant to be race ridden, however, it's such a work of art that I'd just keep it in my living room for show.
Ducati beauty is the best!
Bikes like these deserve to be made
If I had the money, I would buy 2. One for in the livingroom and one for driving. What a dream this bike is.
this is a statement piece more or less i know lots of rich snobs who buy bikes and cars for status purposes. if you take a normal v4r switch the catalytic converter for lightweight performance pipes, ecu remap and and carbon wheels you'll get about the same power to weight if not more.
Wouldn't have the garage space for more than three bikes, so maybe I would go midway and keep the Change if I had the funds in the first place.
looks sick
I hope he went to rest after the recording. Which is great btw. Subscribed
perfect, i just got my motorcycle license

I wonder if other manufacturers will come out with a new model where they clearly just threw the kitchen sink at it
this bike looks insane and my dream to be own one day .
Good God that thing is gorgeous!
The wings though probably efficient look absolutely ridiculous. Overhead a few people at London show saying they’d plump for the V2 over the standard V4 purely cos it doesn’t have the wings
V4r is capable to generate 238 bhp after installation of akrapovic kit 😉
The carbon rims are coming from BST and the titanium exhaust is included in the total price. The real good bargain is to buy a V4R because its price is limited by the WSBK regulation (a little less than 40 000€ for the street legal models needed for an homologation, while it should be closer from 55 000€ according to Ducati's usual prices ).

To answer the question at the end ... A V4 Superleggera or the stable of Scramblers? How about a V2 loaded with the track accessories, a 2020 Multistrada 1260S also with add-ons, and still some left over, maybe even enough for a Diavel 1260S with a couple add-ons as well. Hmmmmm one ride that I won't be able to use too often, or three bikes to go along side my Monster ... I'll take the triple package instead.
You'd have to compare the Ducati Desmocidichi RR with the Honda RCV213 (Not the superleggera).
Unless you expect a good return on investment, there's no bike in the world that's worth 100K. I do admit, however, that the bike is gorgeous. I guess I'll keep my 2019 ZX-10R.
If your yearly company bonus would pay for it, then it's definitely worth it! If I had that sort of cash I'd put it in the front room, enjoy it as art and use a V4R as a track bike. But for any normal person, it's not worth that because you'd never be able to use the performance, wouldn't dare ride it incase you crashed it and there would be so many other cheaper bikes that would be at least as good at normal speeds. The wings don't only stop wheelies. Apparently, they aid high speed stability and grip and feel during braking and turn-in. Apparently.
