I just ordered the S700 Max 2x2L tanks. This 0,5L I just would recommend as backup tank. Just 0,5L tank would just be for fun in a pool to dive in 1-2 meters for a few minutes. But not for real long lasting dive sessions or deeper dive sessions.

I have also found my local pool wont allow the use of such a device (certified or not) due to policy requiring a) the space be booked b) you have a certified scuba instructor with you (which i have asked about and they won't do it for this device) c) even if they did (which they don't) the cost of hiring an instructor, and booking the space will be prohibitive for just 4 minutes. My record is 7 minutes on 110 bar (66L)

Didn't dive for over 10 years, I'm an paddi open water certified diver. I plan on using a 4 L tank as main and this 0.5 L for safety stop , besides what's left in the 4 L one. I intend on buying a dedicated compressor to fill them. I think I'll go with some underwater scutter also if I commit on spending that much. What do you think about this setup plan ? I remember using considerably less air than any of my buddies back in the days. Is it fair / reasonable to expect at least 20-25 minutes ( including safety stop ) of underwater fun from my setup idea ? Thanks and all the best !

With all the brands pushing the marketing to sell and make a lot of ads around the internet saying that it’s easy to use and doesn’t require you to have diving certification or any knowledge about it, I wonder how long would it take till somebody dive deeper than 10m, ascend faster than the recommended ascent rate and gets DCS.

Could you possibly use an air compressor and just pump air into it as apposed to spending a lot of time using something like a bike pump?

Please do not buy this. This bottle holds less than .5 liters. Some of these tanks can withstand up to 310 bar. But that can only be achieved with a special compressor costing a lot of money. Even at 100bar of pressure (which is impossible with a hand pump. Your car tyre is just 2 to 3 bar!), you only get theoretically 16 to 20 breath (a man uses 2,5 to 3 liters of air for every breath. 0.5 liters x 100 bar is just 50 liters. 50/2.5 is 20. 50/3 = 16,7). In practice, even fewer. Because it is impossible to breathe from a bottle with too low pressure. And the deeper you go, the more the air in your lungs compress, and you need even more volume of air to fill your lungs. Breathing air from a bottle is also more difficult than without. If you get 10 breaths out of this at best, then you will only last only 1 to 2 minutes. And then you have to repeat the process of filling it up again. You will do way better, just training to keep your breath under water. I wouldn't call this a scam, but it's highly overrated and, in practice, not very usable. Please do not buy this.
