    I have this device and for me it is the absolute best one I could have purchased. I am a 3x cancer survivor and am disabled so i do not have a huge budget. For me any purchase like this takes time and research but this was the one. I do not have a PC so this is my home PC. I have an Xbox so when I can sit up and play I play on that. Once the pain sets in and I have to lay down I have this. Its the best of both worlds. I have a doc and a switch that i can switch from xbox to this and whichever i use the keyboard, mouse and monitor work great. Anyway thanks for the video i enjoyed it.

    I almost got this, but got the Deck Oled instead and I am glad I did because I have a gaming laptop, but I like the console experience more (hassle-free). It looks cool, but I don't want a pc handheld because windows gaming can sometimes be a pain and I had it restart mid a paladins match to update (schedule for night time and got the update message same day). I like the form factor more on SD Oled. I can still play my PS5 and PC games all from the Deck and Switch on the Switch, so no problem. The thing I wondered was how the detachable controls would hold up with use because the Switch with its controllers can feel flimsy without a case to secure how it fits.

    Eight months isn’t long enough to have that same wear that I’m used to with my joy cons but eight months in and it feels about like 99 to 98% the same as it did when I first used it But that could be because I don’t really detach the controllers all that much

    @@JustSomeJacob Makes sense and that is a nice feature. I almost got it, but the size and weight of it on my wrists is something I didn't want since I will be using it handheld mostly and that's when I saw all that the SD can do. The Go does seem well put together and has good specs, the fan is loud though and I am enjoying the Linux interface on SD.

  • @JustSomeJacob

    @@NexXxus86 me personally I would wait the ally x isn’t gonna be that much of a performance increase you we’ll see you like an extra three or 5% more FPS, which can be the difference for a game on the edge of playability and the battery. Life is nice, but it doesn’t offer anything. Other than that I would wait until there is a truly next generation handheld think of steam deck two a proper RG Ally sequel or even a legion go sequel.

    I think you will have buyers remorse ...... The change is drastic when going down to the 7 inch huge bezel displays on the other handhelds. Just buy a portable battery that has power delivery at 60-140w.

    Rog ally x and its not even close. Legion go is slow on software support and not tye best ui. Plus no vrr screen the 144hz is useless. Rog ally x got a huge upgrade with 80wh battery and 24gbram which should imprive performance by up to 10%, plus asus officially came out with a statemnt regarding rma and are working to fix the trust.. In my opinion either get rog ally x or steam deck oled.

  • @jhonrock2386
    @jhonrock2386Ай бұрын

    The fact that it does not support VRR is a reason for me to not buy it, cuz I think VRR, in devices like this one, is a must. It does not have the hardware to run games at a fairly good graphic quality with good and stable framerates, even with upscaling methods factored in. And that's when the VRR comes in to make a difference.

    I have a top of the range Laptop that has VRR and a top range Samsung TV that uses VRR whilst gaming and a Legion go and i don't notice any problems with screen tearing or stuttering in games on either. p.s I would obviously prefer VRR on the Legion Go but to say it makes a 'night and day' difference is simply not true. Legion Go with no VRR compared to Asus rog Ally with VRR video = kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqCZ3KSQmpu6ZJM.htmlsi=bXK__duqQduztZH-

    @@bigtrousers4287 I also though the same, until I experimented the VRR implementation Bethesda used on the console version of Fallout 4. The difference in running it at 30fps to running at 40fps was like night and day. The feeling of smoothnes increased by a large margin.

  • @volcalstone

    Not having VRR on the Go isn't that big of a deal cause of the portrait display. This is why we don't see a lot of tearing. Yeah it sucks to have to use V-sync but it's not the end of the world. This is coming from someone that has VRR everything. I got the Ally w/ an XGM as well but I like the Go better overall cause of the bigger screen which is a better display as well. It isn't OLED like all of my TVs but there is nothing wrong with LED still if it's a great display like on the Go.
