It's a brilliant little car, I bought one for commuting and general day to day family duty. It's like a tardis, fits 4 adults in, a weeks shopping, does 50mpg and feels absolutely tight and together despite having nearly 100k on it. The build quality is absolutely light years ahead of anything European, some of the plastics might look a bit cheap, but no squeaks no rattles and everything works perfectly. Precisely nothing has broken or fallen off. And it runs rings round a lot of "prestige" cars in the corners, which is really really amusing. What's not to like?

I easily fitted _five_ adults in my fit Jazz, my jazzy Fit. I myself weighed 66 kg at the time. The weight of my 4 passengers i estimated to be about 90, 110, 59, and 68. So that brings the total to 393 which is just a little above the maximum specified load, is 8 kg above the maximum specified load, indicated on the door panel, and equal to 385. So the car is quite voluminous inside, had plenty of space for 5 adults, 2 of whom were rather fat, but it lacks weight-carrying ability. I didn't notice any handling problems at maximum weight capacity, no steering, brake, or acceleration problems. But my passengers didn't bring an luggage with them.

Put 100k miles on my '13 sport in just five years. Frequent road tripping, 24 states and 2 provinces, two band tours, one honeymoon, even moved apartments without renting a truck/van. Totaled it on a deer last month, loved it so much I got a 2020 Fit EX last weekend.

Short answer is yes. I have a Honda fit. It's not the fastest car, or the nicest in the world but one thing I can absolutely guarantee is if you take care of it, it will bend over backwards in reliability for you.

I liked the Jazz so much that I bought a new one for each of my two daughters. It's practical, economical and functional. Great little car to carry small loads.

The rear windo wasn't even obstructed

I have owned a Jazz for 11 years. 1.5 ltr engine 120 BHP, Thailand model. Paddles on steering wheel to change gears when I want to go manual.Only mechanical problem was, Mickey Mouse, a rodent bit through an electric cable, causing a clunk when changing gear. Quick fix by local dealer. Excellent motor. John

Hahah, you actually finally did one on the Jazz. I commented on your best small car segment a few months ago. Stating imo, Best hatch/small car ever is the Jazz. Mrs still driving 06' over 200k. Going strong, never had an issue with.

Must be a manual 2006 model because if CVT you'd be on your third transmission (damn starter clutch) 😡, Wheel bearings failed in a high proportion of first Gen (03-07) cars.

@@MrBenHaynes Automatic, must be one of the lucky ones. Cvt oil changed regularly myself though. Drain and fill x3, Every time I do it. Wheel bearing are still good. The Mrs still driving it.

That car looks like a tick but drives so beautifully. It feels big, spacious and safe. Great review.

As a 2010 honda fit's owner, it's hard to find a better alternative at that price point.

Mechanic was spot on , very reliable, love this channel , real car reviews after years on the road.

I've had a manual 2012 1.5 litre for about 4 years and it's been awesome, the fold flat seats in the back are super practical, best small car on the market I think

This was the car my driving instructor had (and still has but this gen of jazz instead of the one I learnt in) and it was a brilliant car to drive when i was doing the lessons with him and the manual transmission can take a fair amount of abuse from learners who grind it to find it. Can say the seats in his car were good but they could put your legs to sleep at times. Also an idea for when you guys hit the 50k subscribers mark is us your DJ and/or drumming skills and do a rap/song/track featuring all the cars you've showcased in the should you buy videos. Keep up the good work guys and as always I look forward to next weeks videos.

This review was a big part in why I bought a 2014 Fit, it's been about 8 months now and I love it. I go fishing a lot and this thing can take everything and then some. I've also found with the touchscreen stuff, you can quickly swipe up and down on them to make things go up in ~5 increments. For example swiping up on the aircon will bring it up 5 degrees, or swiping down on the volume will bring it down 5 points etc. It feels MUCH safer than just tapping on them. Not as great as a physical knob still, but far better than just tapping I've found!

I have the 2015 manual jazz, and everyone who has driven it loves it! It just a lot of fun to drive!

My 1st Kei car, with an 7speed DCT Hybrid power in Malaysia, the only country outside of Japan to have this electric model. It’s fuel consumption was out of the world to me & still impressed me since 2018. It’s able to travel in full electric below 100kmh for a few km. beside that it’s electric motor are good for short burst of extra HP to overtake some bigger capacity cars too. So far it gave me ZERO issue with both its battery & DCT.

I may buy a used one this week. Also love love love the blooper reels! Keep it going

Owned the 1st gen 2003-2007 Jazz VtiS and clocked 130K kms in 4 years and had zero faults ... even took it onto a race track once, was actually super fun. Got written off after being hit from behind while parked :(

I’ve owned a 2011 Jazz for few years. This car is brilliant what it does. You can fit sheet loads of stuff in this vehicle. People have doubted me what I could fit in this little car. I have stuffed single mattress and even a decent sized TV unit. Seat configuration is just amazing. Only thing that bothers me is the noisy rubber door seals which makes scuffing noises while driving. Apart from that love this car hence don’t want to sell it even though I want a different car lol.

I just bought a 2016 Fit, and for what would typically be a "boring" car, I'm quite happy with it! The lower-trim models (here in America, I have the LX) have the old-school "hot/cold" type of climate control and they're still physical knobs you can turn, and the non-premium stereo is also all physical knobs and buttons, so there's certainly some value in saving the money off the higher trim to get the lower-tech but more reliable physical controls.

As Jazz owner , I have over 200k km on my 1.5 5 speed , . The handling mail me , sweet ride so I drop it 30 mm , stiffer shock and spring. And Tires . Sweeter. A enjoyable time driving a slow car fast . Large enough to sleep in . Did 10 k in 2 week across the country , very comfortable car and 6.5 litre per 100 km . Easy to over take road trains. Research says you can expect 400k From the engine , no issues just oil every 10 k . A car with out issues. For me. Might up grade the frontbrakes

I rid off my first new Honda Jazz rolling it 360 and 180 landing back on the tyres at 2:30am in Healesville, Melbourne. Every panel was damaged. The tow truck guy said that out of all the cars in the world, the Honda Jazz cars have the best chassis and thats what saved my life. I now have a new Honda Jazz. I love the low running cost and the great space for carrying stuff is incredible.

I had a Jazz 2013, and now I have a 2019, I love them and have not complained at all.

Love my 2008 Jazz. So practical and never had an issue when in the shop 👊

The Honda Fit reminds me very much of the very first brand new car I bought: a 1973 Honda Civic. I recently purchased a 2017 Honda Fit LX model with 21, 150 miles on the odometer at time of purchase and am very pleased with it. Needed a more economical 'daily driver' to replace my thirsty 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche truck in that role. Great fuel mileage, plenty of pep, and best of all I can fit an entire drum kit (yes I am a drummer) inside it with room left over with the rear seats folded down.

I love my little 2015 6-speed Fit, it's a very fun car to drive! The manual transmission instead of the CVT makes it go from boring econobox to sporty hatchback, and although the stereo is absolutely horrendous (especially coming from a nearly 20 year old Subaru that has a better stereo than a GMC) the steering wheel buttons make it mostly usable. Also the Fit sold here in the US has actual climate knobs instead of that weird touchscreen, though we don't have those nice projector beam headlights just halogens. Very good car, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and fuel efficient first car!

What this car lacks in character, it definitely makes up for in versatility. I can say from personal experience of an old and slightly battered 1st gen model. And yes, you can move house with one! You actually have a small family car (with space to rival a Focus) and a small van in one package!

I've got a 2019 50yr edition which I bought new, and use to drive to and from the railway station during the week plus some town driving on the weekend. Love it, am 6'1" and have plenty of room just like the presenter. Totally recommend them for many reasons. My one has dials for air conditioning and buttons on the steering wheel for volume etc.

I have a Fit (USA) from around 2012 (?). Anyway, I also use it to load musical equipment for gigs. I can fit an 8' 2x4 inside the car and still shut the hatch. I've actually hauled 10' and 12' lumber by just hanging them out the back and tying the hatch down on top of the boards. Inside, it measures at least 7' from the hatch to the glove compartment. I've considered removing seats and converting it to a camper (many KZread videos on this). I had a leaky head gasket and a faulty electrical switch (related to shifting) but really small issues for a 10 year old car. Kind of a rough ride but at this same time, rather fun. Handles very well and has good power. I'm modestly tall (6'1") and large (300 lb) and find it very comfortable with plenty of head and leg room. Has buttons! :-)

I've owned a 2011 Fit automatic from new and it's the perfect grocery getter- versatile, quiet, reliable, easy to park, holds a lot of stuff. At 100k miles it's on its third battery, second set of tires, and original brake pads. NOT having touch-screen climate controls is a definite plus!

I have owned several GD1 Jazz's. After 700k KMS (combined over 4 cars) the only maintaince issues I ever had was my fault for not knowing the idsi had 8 spark plugs. So I never changed 4 of them. Which made it run a little funny sometimes and didn't help the fuel consumption. A CV joint that was damaged during a shock absorber replacement. Still have copies of the service history. Apart from oil, filters CVT oil. Shock absorbers (at 150k km intervals) brake pads and rotors tyres. The CV and diagnostic fees for the sparkplugs was all I spent money on. Averaged roughly 17km/l over 4 cars and 700k km

Fit/Jazz is my favorite car. It's been through a lot. It still runs like a charm. Just change the oil.

Amazing cars these. I bought mine brand new in Johannesburg 2019 (called Jazz here in South Africa) Manual transmission, Radiant Red in colour. Have 80 000kms now and nothing but praise for this "big little" car. From safari / camping trips with kids to Kruger National Park, to long haul beach holidays in Cape Town up the West Coast covering 5 000kms, mountain trips, gravel travel and daily 110km commute to work and back. Have hauled bales of hay, washing machines, kitchen stove oven combo, mountain bikes, lawn movers, five boisterous dogs and a house move. Was not my first choice of vehicle to replace Toyota Corolla, but have never looked back.

Here in the US. I just bought a used 2016 with 58000 mi. Great car. Tons of cabin space for small car. Handling is second to none. It can take be pretty zippy on flat terrain, but bogs down a bit on hills ( its a 1.7 L. so no surprise there). Great day to day car. My fiance loves it because "its so cute". I love it because i can fill the tank for $20 and, like the man himself said, its practical with a capital P!

I know someone who owns a Jazz 1.2. It SCREAMS on the freeway ,has a very good sound system, is very comfortable and is an absolute STREET POUNDER. Absolutely love that car

Just drove a Fit across the United States and back again, then down to LA and back up to near Oregon. Not even a cough. The thing is a tank. And you can sleep in the back quite comfortably.

I’ve just bought a 2016 used one with a 7 speed CVT automatic gearbox at the 2nd highest trim level. Although I won’t be allowed on the road until next year due to Complex Partial Epilepsy (I need 1 year of no seizures with the medication I’m on) I love the assisted practise sessions I have been getting in big empty car parks. I purposely bought it for practically after my 2009 Polo was written off from a seizure which happened for the first time when driving (it’s only been happening at home particularly over supper time) although luckily no else got involved and was injury free. What helps is it’s only 0.5 inches wider so the dimensions are similar but with blind spot check windows which the VW Polo doesn’t have

Excellent review. I reviewed a 2017 Honda Jazz 1.5 Sport CVT, and while it is really practical, build quality and use of materials weren't great. The Jazz is also quite Expensive in South Africa. I love the look of the new Fit though. Can't wait to get my hands on one.

I used to own a 2006 model, until it was rear ended at the red light. Extremely reliable car. Issues i encountered: 1. CVT shuddering.Xado cvt protectant every 5k and factory tranny oil replacement every 20k. Issue caused by incorrect tranny oil replacement by the dealer or prev owner. 2. Front shock absorber mounts required replacement at 150k. Cost around $300 to replace. 3. Hair line crack under the roof Side plastic stripes leading to water leaks into the boot. Cost $350 to fix include sorting out rust. 4. Burning about 0.5L of engine oil every 10k from 150k. 5. Air con not cold due to a blocked cabin filter. The filter is located inside glovebox.

@@omega1575 try removing the cabin air filter. If it still not cold, then there cud be a leak or something else is wrong. But if it gets colder without the filter, then your filter is probably badly blocked and requires a replacement.

@@iquiax hmm... alright, i checked the filter mid august and saw it was decently clean, and got the AC recharged early September. ill make sure to try that before i use the AC next

Love my 2019 Fit Sport. 6 speed manual, real buttons and dials for the HVAC and Radio, as well as Apple Car play and Android Auto that always work.

6 Spd Manual is the way to go, got the german 2018 dynamic trim level an love it. think it has firmer suspension than other trim, but still a bit jumpy. no problems on autobahn as well. fuel consumption is around 9,2L /100km near top speed of 200kmh indicated. could be lower.

Got a 2007 Fit Sport with 200k km and going strong..love it.

I've owned 2, a 1st gen that I bought that had 220k miles it needed a new cat and plugs and coils drove great after that before I sold it. And currently have a 2nd gen that has only had a few issues where it blew out two plugs and melted coils, Caught it before it did to much damage my 2nd gen I got at 50k now has 122k drives great.

I did and glad I did. My 2013 Fit hybrid only had 45k on the clock and the battery health is 77%. Very good for car that is around 8 years old. Paid $12k for mine. Strange you don’t have the fourth gen in Aussie when we have it here in NZ. Btw the seat issue affected the 2015-18 models if I remember right.

so i have a 2009 fit Sport with 340,000 miles on it and counting. had it since 250,000. Only had to replace the starter, and AC Conpressor. Been a great little car. My wife has a 2015 with 109,000 with no issues yet. great little tanks.

I owned a 2017 Honda Fit EX 6 speed manual US model and it was a pretty good car for the money. Regularly got 38-42mpg combined. He mentioned the it jumping around when it hits potholes and he is correct. The suspension could be much better.

I would say the only two mechanical issues make sure if it's a cvt transmission make sure it is in good working order and keep up with the oil changes every 20k. The other is the ATC actuator that is notrorious on the Honda's for going bad, there was a recall on certain years of the fits and accords. I plan on keeping my Fit for years to come. love this car

had a 09 Japanese ge8 fit manual for 10 years, just bought a 17 gk5 jazz manual in Australia, fit/jazz is such a great and reliable little car

I've owned a 2012 Fit Sport since brand new. It is unbelievably reliable. The only ticks in the armor of this great car are the sub-par mileage and the A/C. I know several owners of Fits who sold them because at least here in CA they are not mpg champs. Expect 25 mpg in mixed driving. The A/C is weak and is notorious for mysteriously leaking freon over time. Many of the Japan made fits in 2012 were shipped with low freon levels that caused compressor freeze up on long hot drives. Mine had this exact problem and was refilled 5 years ago. No issues until recently when the A/C was blowing warm again. Luckily not on a long trip. My mechanic told me that Fits are notorious for this and refilled the system, finding no leaks. So if you are considering getting one I would say do it but have the A/C checked before buying plus know that you will not be a hyper-miler when it comes to mileage.

Just bought a 2012 Jazz the otherday. Really love the car and I'm surprised by the mileage. I manage to get 5.5l/per 100km. It's weird when you trip computer shows you 800km range on 42l tank. AC is strong tho.

I drove From Adelaide to Townsville and back (2012 model) in mine, no problem. My old landlord had one and she drove from Adelaide to Darwin and back in hers. Bullet proof.

My first car was a 2011 Honda Jazz 1.2 (EDM) GE, manual with 140000 km. Drove highway, countryroad and city, it's super reliable good to drave, safe and extremly reliable and practical. Genius car

I watched this video months ago when I was considering buying a Jazz for my wife. I bought a MY17 Jazz RS with 50,000ks on the clock. After owning it for a few months now we couldn't be happier, it's a brilliant car. My first drive was an 800km trip home as we bought it on another city. I found the seats on the trip fantastic as did my adult son who came for the ride. I used 39L of fuel for the 800km trip so a touch under 5L/100km. Since then it's used 5.8/100km as a mix of winding open road and City driving. I always serviced my own vehicles and this is the easiest car I've serviced in 25 years. The engine oil filter is on the front lower section of the block and the drain is easy access. I also changed the CVT fluid and that was as easy as the engine oil. 100% would recommend this car to anyone

Bought the jazz back in 2005 and the car was awesome. Even more frugal than the toyota yaris which i bought for my wife back then. Alas, a cvt problem made me sold it and the nvh never settled in with me. Im using the vw polo at the moment and loving it. the 7 speed still holding up after 10 years and after changing the engine gasket, the polo still drives premium.

I had a 2007 Fit. It was the best car that I ever had. I bought it used with 54,000 miles on it. I used it as a delivery vehicle delivering medical supplies. I put 70,000 miles on it the first year that I had it. I changed jobs and no longer needed it so I sold it. It had 270,000 miles on it when I sold it. The car had all the original belts and hoses. It even had the original clutch! The only parts that I replaced were the alternator, the battery and an ignition coil (besides maintenance items like brakes and tires and light bulbs). People were surprised when I go to the hardware store and buy an 8ft 2x4 with the car. I could put the 2x4 in the car and close all the doors. I would definitely buy another one.

Just bought myself a used 2016 top of the line VTI-L model, with leather seats and all the possible bells and whistles available for the Australian market, for a really decent price. I jumped the gun because of your review. Coming from a 1996 Mitsubishi Lancer, this is a perfect sized car for me. Cars has gotten so big, a small sedan from 20 years ago is now the same size as subcompact. Really loving the car, the visibility and practicality are unrivaled in this segment. Was torn between Mazda 2 and this, the driving experience and handling in Mazda 2 is unrivaled, but everything else, Jazz is the clear winner for me. One thing I do really hate is the centre console and everything touchscreen.

I have a 2019 Jazz Sport Navi CVT, which is like the EX you feature, but has manual a/c (SE spec) which is 3 rotary dials that are notched and are super easy to use while driving and don’t require you take your eyes off the road, it also does 0-60 in 8.67s (quicker than the manual). It’s rated as a supermini in the UK, yet it’s the physical size of a A3/Golf/Leon, cheaper to insure than a Ford Fiesta 95ps auto and with the seats flat it has 1,314 litres of boot space, the Fiesta barely made it past 900 litres. I get 45mpg on urban town roads and 57mpg cruising on dual carriageways. The only downside is the sports suspension as UK roads are poorly maintained as most councils employ contractors that use chip seal repairs rather than asphalt. Ergonomically, it’s what I consider to be ‘peak car’ - there is nothing currently available that is better - most contenders have the air vents in I what I consider to be in the wrong place, ie: below the midpoint level of the steering wheel (most VAG group cars, Kia, Hyundai, Ford). My previous Fiesta had this, super hot UK day, a/c on and my left hand is freezing. Compare that to the Jazz with the air vents on top of the dash: cold a/c in my face and no frozen arm. A lot of manufacturers prioritise the infotainment system which takes up the entire centre console and has a couple of thin reedy vents on either side. From circa 2018 onwards Honda also starting burying the temperature controls on the CR-V within the infotainment as well, like the Volvo XC40. The Jazz has safety ‘features’ you switch off once and they stay off: start/stop and LKA. As to condition, it looks like you found the crappiest example you could find. In the UK, they’re rated as a dependable used car, regularly getting 78% from owners (Source: Which? Consumer magazine).

I bought an Ex-Japan 2014 Honda Fit last year, it is doing great so far. However, I've noted it tends to slow down faster than I had expected, which, as I was told, could be a problem (or a feature) of the transmission

My 2016 Honda Fit is equipped a little different that the one you reviewed. I liveb in the US and my Fit was built in Japan. I have the mid-trim EX model that came loaded with lots of nice standard features. and the AC controls are the traditional knobs and buttons. You forgot to mention the excellent sound that the radio pumps out. When I go to the beach, it fit three chairs, a table, a cot, a dog pen, aand a 10' x 10' shade canopy. All this includes the three of us with room to spare for personal belongings.

Love the Jazz; I wish they made it electric as I’m looking to replace my own 2014 Jazz. We also had a 2008 model Fit in the US. Used it for several moves; impressively, it fit more things than a 2007 CRV!

the chevy bolt is basicly a fit EV, im sure honda will get around to it too at some point. but part of what makes the early subcompact hypermilers like the insight, echo, and fit, so good is the light weight. just with the way battery tech is right now an EV fit at the same weight would be substantially heavier or significantly less range. that could change though in a few years if one of the new high density battery techs finally makes it into full scale production.

I have a 2015 model that has only covered 17,500 MLS and drives like new, I'm glad mine is a 5-speed manual without the touchscreen, it's a 1.4 ltr 101 bhp, great car.

I can't believe they are not bringing the Jazz here anymore (as well as . I'm on my 2nd Jazz now (took the first one across Great Central Road). It's a humble simple car that doesn't try to be anything fancy but serves you well. Best parts: - I can fold the back seats down and sleep in diagonally. - I bought a fridge home in it. - Seats are comfortable, I do 1000kms a week and no issues. - Current Jazz has 340,000kms and still drives as if it were new. I'm sure it will go to 500,000kms Worst parts: - If you like doing your own maintenance its a REALLY tight 'fit' in the engine bay and to get to the spark plugs you need to disassemble half of the car. It's low so you'll need to jack up the front to get an oil catch pan under. - You put your foot down and wait a while to get up to speed then ease off the accelerator. - Paint fade despite being kept under cover (and its not red either)

I found it's quite twitchy in high winds when going highway speeds.

🟢 I purchased a 2019 Jazz 50 year Limited Edition in 2021 with 2,000 km 🤗 replacing my 2015 Jazz ~ looked at other options in the same class 🥸 if you take out the boot tray you can fit 2 large samsonite bags ~ 1 horizontal and 1 vertical ✅

I've owned a 2015 GK5 LX 6 speed for almost a year. I love it. Fun to drive, lots of cargo space, good MPG, easy to maintain, and as simple as you can get for a modern car. My experience with the seats is good, and I do a lot of driving, often a few hours at a time. My complaints? The 6 speed is geared very short, so it buzzes at 4000 rpm at 80 mph, often cruising speed here in the US. Also no temperature gauge, I think those should be required. Also the LX not having fog lights and not having the provisions for them from the factory. Still, I love this little car. I wish I bought one years ago. I'm a Honda guy and I've owned several Civics, but I like the Fit even more. Fantastic little car, I definitely recommend it. Easily the best subcompact here in the States.

Super, super, picky is right! Totally happy with ours: we have two. Simply the Best cars we've ever owned and have no intention of selling!

My wife has a 2015 hybrid, upto 750 klm per tank of gas, It out performs all expectations. An amazing car.

Own a 2015 EX Fit since 2019. I am over 100 000km. I have a slight rattling noise on cold start-up (VTC control rattles when oil pressure is low, quite a known issue but nothing broken). No other mechanical issues. Hard to overstate the practicallity. I had so much fun that I upgraded the suspension, tires and brakes, air intake and a few things here and there. After market support is there, albeit far from what Civics get. I would not necessily recommend to modify it and you would not get significant power gains with either a tune or bolts-on and definitely not a reliable engine to boost. It is made for durability and gas economy. Totally recommends the Fit 3rd gen. Great economy car that outclasses other cars in the category in terms in practicality, reliability and driver engagement such as the Kia Rio, Mitsubishi Mirage, Hyundai Accent, and Nissan Versa. Probably gets outclassed with the Mini and Fiat, however they're far more expensive. Forget the CVT and get the 6-speed manual transmission. Also, get a 2016 or 2017 so you get physical buttons for climate control. They're as future-proof as it gets.

I bought one as a family car with newborns. Tall roofline meant easy access placing kids in carseats. No smacking your head or visits to the chiropractor!

Simply put, the Fit or Jazz, seems to work, and work well. No fuss, no special treatment, it just goes and holds a ton of stuf!

I feel the same way about the Mk1 H-RV, one of my favorite cars. I love the design also

Hood latch & rear hatch latch alarm sensors eventually misfire and the security system activates all nite looong…. This kills the battery. My car is now named the HOnKa F-it and my neighbours hate me enough that one helped me set the negative on my battery to hook and unhook quickly without a wrench. Every time I get out I have to pop the hood unhook the negative and lock with a key. (2009) other than that great car but ‘that’ is a pretty major issue with many folks having it, and then being overcharged for diagnostics / repair attempts that don’t fix the problem at their dealers.

Recently bought a 2007 model as my first car. Took a 200k trip and got n 5.1L/100k, was super surprised and actually exited as I am a student. Great vehicle, although my yes the seats are not comfortable for long drives.

Best Car Ever! I had one for 11 years and ~150k miles with 0 issues until someone crashed into it but then I just immediately turned around and got another one. I'm hoping to get 15+ years out of this one.

My girlfriends mum hazz a jazz.. She has half her house constantly stacked in it. She once attempted to empty it in my GFs Civic RS.. Pretty sure the RS was full and the Jazz still had more stuff to go. It gets serviced when something goes wrong, which never happens. Shes abused and belted it to death, its hit curbs, walls, mailboxes, a Rodeo and unknown potholes. I am of the opinion that car will never die...

I have a 2010 fit sport manual transmission. It just crossed 200k miles. I’ve had constant issues w the ac and I know it’s a common problem at least here in the states.

I have a 130km return commute to work every day, the Jazz does the job nicely. Getting nearly 700km to a tank.

I love my Honda Fit!!! I lease, so I've had a 2016 and now a 2019...lease will be up soon..I read the new models aren't coming to the USA...the driver seat is adjustable for up or down..I love that feature and the many configurations of the back seats..only thing that I don't like is the gas tank is under the driver seat..I still love the Fit... hoping the Fit or Jazz will make it's way to America..

Love my '17. 90,000 so far and zero problems. Best thing? It's paid off!

Bought one of these new in October of 2008 - a dark metallic blue (aka: "Vivid Blue") top-of-the-line 2009 Fit Sport with 5-spd manual transmission. Total out-the-door price including taxes: $22,345 Canadian. Gave it to our daughter four years ago at 312,000 kms. It now has around 345,000 kms on it (she doesn't drive as much as I did) and has been mostly trouble-free - but not perfect. First, the good: Very good fuel economy, with a steady 110 km/hr highway drive producing a real-world 40 miles per imperial gallon. Tight suspension and quick steering that produced more fun and better handling than any of the six 1st-generation Mazda RX7s that I used to own. More luggage space than most medium-sized SUVs - but without the fuel penalty. Legendary Honda reliability and durability. Excellent visibility. Quite peppy with the manual transmission. The 117 hp combined with the 2500-lb weight, variable valve timing and lower gearing/final drive ratio produced zero-to-100km times under 9 seconds. (the automatics took over 10 seconds). Lots of leg room and head room for rear seat passengers. Very ergonomic placement of controls, knobs (yes, these older ones actually had knobs) and amenities. Cup-holders galore. Not one but TWO glove boxes, the lower of which was large enough to hide a body. Very well-laid-out instrument panel. Seat pan heights that were high enough to mistake for that of a cross-over SUV for good viz and ease of entry/exit. Still feels tight and rattle-free even at 345,000 kms. Now the bad: Too-firm seats with head rests that continuously pushed your chin into your chest. Heater fan switch that became glitchy at around the 300,000 km mark. No fun running the control lever back and forth several times to get the heater fan to come on in January in Canada at minus-motherf***** Celsius. Poor protection for AC condenser located down low in front of the radiator - directly in the path of road debris. One such rock punctured the condenser undetected, resulting in loss of all refrigerant and destruction of the pump. Not willing to risk debris scattered throughout the system I replaced everything - at over $2K. Lots of luggage space does not equal lots of weight-carrying capacity. Over-loading eventually cost me two rear shocks at around 200,000 kms. That under-front-seats fuel tank location combined with a filler tube with what seemed like the internal diameter of a drinking straw translated into long-ass wait times to fill the tank. "99-bottles-of-beer-on-the-wall..." Shift knob wore out at around 80,000 km. Found a much older-but-better one from a wrecking yard. (no newer Hondas there, only newer Fords, GM, Chrysler and German). Paint quality sub-par. Easily scratched/blemished, and corrosion beginning around rear wheel wells at around 250,000 kms - a common Honda issue that similar-vintage Toyota cars just don't seem to suffer from. So would I buy another? Absolutely - but only an '09 through '12. And only if not one of the ones built in China. The later generations with the latest whiz-bang displays and non-user-friendly infotainment systems leave me cold.

A note on the early (Mk1) Jazz models (UK version at least), the clutch release bearing does tend to be a problem after a (long) while, and there was a problem with the boot hinges letting water in, but that's easily fixed with a bit of outdoor sealant. Ours had a fairly weak aircon, but probably would have been ok with a re-gas (it was wear on the clutch that finally killed ours). Other than that, can only recommend them for being cheapish, but bomb-proof reliable cars, and a hoot down back roads!

I live overseas and I still own a 2005 1.4 model and still driving smoothly with not a problem except minor scratches I caused. Yup the exterior design is boring but it’s a very reliable car. A friend has replaced his car thrice already 2x of a Yaris and now owns a Honda Ballade in the same length of time I’ve owned my Jazz that’s how reliable this car is. The dashboard I have in my 2005 is not like as demo’d here. If you maintain it well it will serve you well for a long time, my one has only been serviced by Honda service centers. This year I’ve decided to get myself the 2022 Fit, as much as there are loads of funkier looking cars out there; the Fit has lots of lovely and safety features, very quiet drive, same magic seats, keyless access, led lights etc. The only complaint I have on the 2022 Fit is its actual boot space is smaller than my older Jazz (which is a bit annoying), that was to compensate for the other upgraded features on its nice dashboard. However it still has the magic seat design so on the overall the 2022 model still has loads of storage space as the previous model. So yes it’s boring in its design, BUT when you’re looking for a reliable travel companion the Jazz/Fit won’t fail you and won’t break your bank account.

Good review on the Jazz! This car is so practical and reliable that you can expect it to last into the 300k km range with regular servicing. Honda does require its own fluids and can be a little more expensive, but is well worth it! Even the base model VTi has paddle shifts, blue tooth and custom pictures on its screen. If you're looking to keep a car long term, the Jazz would be a nice 'fit', as it is cheap to operate, reliable and practical. Disclaimer* I own one for 5 years with over 100k km on the clock. Still drives like new. I am however, looking for a more sportier and exciting car to drive . Something like the Lexus IS 350.

I've never driven a CVT before aside from Prius in Granturismo series, what's the paddleshifts for in a CVT?

@@andrewst12 Hey Andrew, I rarely use the paddle shift, but for the times that I have its fun! I've driven the Subaru BRZ and Lexus IS350 on paddle shift and its a whole lot better because it has more power. There are 7 gears on the Honda Jazz paddle shift and you have to upshift rapidly. CVT transmission fluid has to be changed every 40k km with Honda Fluid at about $140 I think. Hope this helps

@@andrewst12 the paddles mostly seem like a gimmick since the transmission on a CVT is usually just better left in Drive. The main time you'd want to use them is to get a bit more engine breaking while decending longer slopes.

Great car to eat in. That "lint and dust" spot is a perfect holder for fast food dipping sauce cups. And the dashboard cup holder keeps your drinks hot/cold with the climate control. If you're stopped, you can fold back the passenger seat to make a lounger.

I own a 2008 fit that u bought used with 145k on it already. I commute 50 miles a day to work and it has been flawless. the fuel economy is worse than that of a comparable Civic but it's infinitely better utility makes up for that .

This is for those who can't afford CRV & Odyssey or just want a smaller version of those. Great all rounder car. This car looks isn't boring. Come to Malaysia, Indonesia, & Thailand 🎉

Wished you got specific about what happens in an actual crash (later models have "good" safety ratings but I wonder if it means "merely good considering how tiny & vulnerable it is." Also I've read there are acceleration & braking issues. Some used Fits I considered buying showed a history of what looked like an awful lot of brake checkups. As you mention, some of the tech stuff works only sometimes. With so much relying on tech, I have to wonder what kind of problems can arise. I also read that, in damp climates like mine, problems arise with electronics or electrical stuff. Yes, we've heard of the uncomfortable seats but I wonder if some seat cushion could help that. Honda should listen to it's Fit drivers & to you, make some changes & put this car back on the market. Not sure why they dropped it - maybe because the US is SUV-crazy now. The price put me off & I got a 2004 Honda Civic after my cherry 2005 Civic was rear-ended/totaled.

We own a 2007 Jazz with CVT having done 187k. Has been very reliable, having only to replace a rear wheel bearing and ignition coils once. We like the car very much and intend to keep it for several more years. The seats can become uncomfortable after about an hour for the driver and passenger which I put down to lack of cushioning in the seat and lack of thigh support. Changing the headlight globe can be a bit tricky for me as it is only accessible by peeling back the inner lining under the fender. Sad that Honda Australia is abandoning the cheap end of the car market and not bringing in the interesting Honda models available in other countries.

Bro, Honda is not about fancy blinky shit like Minis. Its about reliablity. Our Jazz from 2003 got more than 500k km on the board and its running like new

We have one and very happy with it. Only downside is Honda's expensive service charges.

To be fair, when the third gen came out people said the 2nd gen one looked better. It's kind of a pity it's not being exported to more people. We're still getting the new 2021 gen here, and each of these are just brilliant. Note passenger comfort: Jazz does not have air conditioning blowers at the back seat. On hot days turn it up to level 3 and point the blowers at the back.

It wasn't only look unfortunately. They went back to rear drum brakes and CVT on 3rd gen which must have been a cost cutting measure, considering that fuel economy is roughly the same.
