Is the Holy Spirit a person or a force? | UNLEARN the lies

Who is the Holy Spirit? Some people seem to think the Holy Spirit is an impersonal force or influence while others deny His very existence, and some simply don’t know who or what the Holy Spirit is. However, I believe the Bible is very clear on this matter.

Can a person be poured out? (Acts 2:18) The Holy Spirit is the “Power” of the Father (Luke 1:35), that is why we worship Him in Spirit and Truth, because the Father is Spirit (John 4:24), the Father is not 3 persons but he is omnipresent all powerful (1 Chronicles 29:11), Yeshua could do nothing of Himself without His Father’s “Power / Spirit ” (John 5:30). In (John 1:1-3) it says that there were only 2 in the beginning the Father and Word (Son). Also, Yeshua said I and the Father are one (John 10:30), not 3 persons are one. The Holy Spirit is the holy attributes / power of the Father that are manifested to the world, not a distinct different person. In short the Holy Spirit is the omnipresence of God the Father.

Another vese to consider is “By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by holy spirit, by love free from hypocrisy.” - 2 Corinthians 6:6 Why is God and Jesus missing from this verse? The context is revealing. This verse lists things of a "non-sentient" nature. Love is not a person, purity is not, etc, and holy spirit is thrown in there, in 'absense' of God and his Son. This is very telling.

@@colingr318 Thank you for your kind words, but I don’t study oneness. I simply understand God is one and so in that regard those people have it down, in another sense God is 3 in 1 according to scripture and I’m tired of people making names for this. He is one God, 3 in 1 the Father , Son, and Holy Spirit. However, according to scripture we should be being baptized in Yeshua’s name(not Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), so whoever started the other thing is confused. We need to get back to Bible and do our research according to how God leads us not anyone else. I have a book called the Holy Spirit in you, it went well with what God showed me in scripture when I asked him to clear up the oneness understanding. He showed me the time our savior got baptized and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove and the heaven opened and God the Father spoke. So there is a Father, a Son, and the spirit of God. Yeshua sits at the right hand side of the Father but they are one. Like we are a body but are one.

The scriptures personifies the Holy Spirit as it does with wisdom. The Bible also compares God’s spirit to water and associates it with such things as faith and knowledge. These comparisons all point to the impersonal nature of the holy spirit.-Isaiah 44:3; Acts 6:5; 2 Corinthians 6:6. At Acts 2:1-4&17 the Holy Spirit is said to fill someone and the Holy Spirit can also be poured. Can a person "fill" another person or even people? Or can a person be poured?

Well said! Also, consider scriptures stating that the tongue or mouth speaks (Isaiah 9:17, Jeremiah 9:8, Psalm 37:30, Psalm 17:10, Psalm 49:3, Matthew 12:34, Luke 6:45). Applying the same logic in saying the Holy Spirit is a person because it "speaks," we must conclude that the tongue and mouth are persons...separate entities from the person they're attached to. In the Garden of Gethsemane, Yahshua prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as You will" (Matthew 26:39, Mark 14:35). Yahshua had his own will, but chose to do his Father's will. Does the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit) have a will of its own ... can it choose to obey or disobey Yah? Or is it an immutable part of Yah ... an instrument of Yah, like a mouth, rather than a separate entity from Yah? What would be the purpose of Yahshua sending us the Ruach HaKodesh if it has a will of it own? How then could it help us overcome our own will?

I bless you as you continue to share what Believers in The ONE TRUE GOD need to UNLEARN. Topics on the 7th Day Sabbath and the PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, are bold and courageous to impart particularly to those who are in denominations that have accepted the mandates of the Roman Catholic Church, that has been intent on destroying the CHURCH of our LORD for. nearly 1700 years by changing the Sabbath to the 1st Day (worship of the Sun), and raising a mere man above GOD to be prayed to, worshipped, and used as a mediator (in repentance & confessionals) for the forgiveness of their sin(s). I have always enjoyed being a Messianic Jew but I would love to find a Bible believing church that are Sabbath Observant according to The Ten Commandments. It's virtually impossible to find one. Your channel is a beautiful gift, and I pray that many. will actually reconsider the things you share. I am enjoying your anointed ministry. Be encouraged as the. churches MUST eventually step out of Babylon. I consider those churches that hold Sunday as the Sabbath of the Commandments as Babylon, simply because the Day 7 Sabbath was changed & mandated to the 1st Day back in the 321 AD by a man, a pope... and I believe that The BEAST is Catholicism which has dominated Protestant denominations (Methodists, Baptists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians... GREATLY As in the Days of Noah, when the rainbow was GODS SIGN and has since been hijacked by homosexuals...now in these present days of NOAH, the Sabbath on the 7th day is also GODS SIGN that has been highjacked by the agents of satan. I pray for a mass return to Saturday Sabbath observance among all of the Protestant church denominations, and those who do not realize that they are NOT following GOD's Commandment, but rather the command of The Vatican and the POPE. GOD BLESS YOU. If the Sabbath is not to be on the 7th day, then all of the Commandments are null and void, and/or ALL of the TEN have been broken by the congregants of these who have bowed down to the Beast. Amen.

I do not want to ever be determined to rebel against our Redeemer. I believe He has delivered me from all evil in my life no matter what. I live in perpetual worry (which is sin) that Hebrews 10 is me.

Yahushua ascended to heaven He was given the promised Holy Spirit... Does that mean Yahushua was given a person? We know it's the Power that was given to Yahushua after He ascended We read in the Bible where the Holy Spirit is called the intercessor and again we We Yahushua called the intercessor Do we have 2 intercessors or 2 mediators ? We know only Yahushua is our intercessor The Holy Spirit given to Yahushua when He ascended into Heaven is the one that Yahushua uses to reach us... That's what we call Yahushua in us And if the Holy Spirit is another Spirit what's His name? Where is His Throne? The Holy Spirit is the breathe, presence, power of YHWH .... Right, but the Hebrew and Greek word literally means power, force, or energy. So when you bring up verses that the holy Spirit spoke, literally that's God speaking through his Force power or energy. Yeshua could do nothing of Himself without His Father’s “Power / Spirit ” (John 5:30) (Matthew 10:20). In (John 1:1-3) it says that there were only 2 in the beginning the Father and Word (Son). Also, Yeshua said I and the Father are one (John 10:30), not 3 persons are one. "she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit." Define a person here rather than God's force and you have some really perverted theology. Or do you define it one way here and then another way somewhere else? Even young children could figure this one out. The spirit is one of the many manifestations of his power. The Holy Spirit is the power he uses, sends, distributes, or gives, to fulfill his promises. Thus these spirits are made 'Holy" as being set apart from his other manifestations of power and used specifically for God's purposes of fulfilling his promises to those who he will adopt as his own children. But as regards my love the Christ the scripture tells us, "‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’"

As for myself and my spouse, we studied our way out of the Trinity belief. We are Protestants that continue to actually protest the Catholic church and all its false pagan counterfeit doctrines. The Catholic church boasts of herself that she changed the 7th day Sabbath to the day of the Sun (Sunday) and they boast the Trinity as their central doctrine upon which ALL their other doctrine's are based. No way do we accept either of these unbiblical teachings. We do not accept a metaphorical Father and Son who are said to be co-equal and co-eternal with a 3rd God the Holy Spirit. This does not mean we don't believe there is a spirit. We do! But no where in Scripture is there a single verse that states God is 3 or that the Holy spirit is a separate entity. It is the actual spirit of the Father and Son. God bless. Hope you will study this deeper.

Also mountains and trees will sing: Numbers 22:28 ESV [28] Then the LORD opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" Job 38:35 ESV [35] Can you send forth lightnings, that they may go and say to you, 'Here we are'? Revelation 10:4 ESV [4] And when the seven thunders had sounded, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from heaven saying, "Seal up what the seven thunders have said, and do not write it down." When the bible addresses God's spirit, then refers to a "him." I believe it's just referring back to God. Because God works through his spirit. Just like God works through his word/yeshua. I believe God, his word, and his spirit have always co-existed and have always been one. I think this matter tends to be made overly complicated. As long as you acknowledge the father and the son as God in different manifestations and their spirit protrudes from both manifestations for specific purposes. I believe the Father and his Word/Yeshua are both equally God and the same being. If God can answer prayers and be everywhere at once, I see no problem with God dividing himself or manifesting himself anytime or place he wants at the simultaneously. God bless.

The presenter seems to be unaware of the wide use of personification in the Bible and argues that impersonal forces cannot speak. Yet there are dozens of examples that can be found easily by reading the Bible .(Psm 98 :8). Having completely miseld his isteners with his false claims at the outset, he proceeds to list a number of scriptures, out of context, which appear to support his thesis. But here are some things to consider : How many scriptures from he OT did he quote to show that the Spirit is a person and not a force? Given that the OT makes up 3/4 of the Christian Bible, and that Jesus and his Apostles-indeed all the first ChrIstians- were Jews, why did we not have a discussion on how the Spirit is presented in the OT. Could it be because in the OT the Spirit is presented more as a power or force emanating from God than a person ? Why was there no discussion of verses in the NT that seem to show the spirit as a force? Why was there no discussion of verses that call the spirit 'it'? Furthermore, why was there no discussion of the nameless person of the spirit; or of the fact that the spirit is never mentioned in any visions of heaven : It is always only God on his throne and Jesus at his right hand. The Spirit is never present in these visions. Is he just shy or modest ? Why was there no discussion of the greetings found at the start of Paul's letters. Paul always sends greetings from two : The God and Father of the Lord Jesus and the Lord Jesus(ie The LORD God and the Lord Messiah). There is never any greeting from the so called 'person' of the Spirit, the third member of the supposed triune God. And so we could go on. Instead, we got the typical biased, misleading explanation.

The fact you start with "Who is the Holy Spirit ?" discloses your own preference! Just one of many reasons why I DONT believe it is a person is: Jude wrote in 65AD " The faith which ONCE AND FOR ALL, God has given to His people". Why at pentecost when the Christian congregation was formed was nothing said about the HS being a person? to the contrary Peter quoting Joel said "I will pour out from my spirit" ( which was distributed amoung 120) Hardly a 'person being subdivided! It was not until late in the FOUTH century that the notion that there are '3 persons in the Holy trinity, inculding the Holy spiri' So this rather contradicts what Jude, the brother of Jesus said that the FAITH was given once for all timet to His people'?

The Trinity is none biblical God is all Spirit, God says He is not a man nor the son of man. “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: has he said, and shall he not do it? or has he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” - Num 23:19 (AKJV) “I will not execute the fierceness of my anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the middle of you: and I will not enter into the city.” - Hos 11:9 (AKJV) We are sons of God, not sons of Christ. “Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not.” - 1Jn 3:1 (AKJV) Jesus is the Som of God not God the Son! “He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” - 1Jn 3:8 (AKJV) John 3 (AKJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ¹⁷ For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. ¹⁸ He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. ¹⁹ And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Jesus Is NOT GOD but the SON OF GOD! 1Jn 4 (AKJV) ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ² Hereby know you the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: ³ And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof you have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. There is always a separation between the two. Jesus Has A God: The setting is the Last Supper, right before he was arrested and crucified. He prayed for his disciples, saying, “Father,… This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17.3). So, Jesus says of the Father that he is “the only true God” and then distinguishes himself from that one God. Both of these points clearly indicate that Jesus himself cannot also be God. Jesus identified the Father as the only God. Earlier, he told his Jewish opponents that the Father is “the one and only God” (John 5.44). And again, at the Last Supper, Jesus distinguished himself from this one and only God by commanding his disciples, “believe in God, believe also in Me” (14.1). The other two NT passages which irrefutably establish that only the Father is God and distinguish Jesus from God are in Paul’s letters. He writes to the church at Corinth, “There is no God but one…. yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him” (1 Corinthians 8.4, 6). Here, Paul clearly declares that for Christians there is one God, who is the Father, and there is no other God, so that Jesus is not God. irrefutable NT text which establishes that there is God, who is the Father, and distinguishes Jesus from God is in Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. He writes, “There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all” (Eph 4.4-6). Here, Paul implicitly identifies Jesus Christ as “one Lord” and distinguishes him from the “one God,” whom he unequivocally identifies as “the Father.” Paul is a unique author of NT literature in that he exclusively and consistently calls Jesus “Lord” and the Father “God.” Therefore, he never calls Jesus “God.” other NT passages which confirm that Jesus is not God is his encounter with the rich young ruler. This man sincerely asked Jesus, “‘Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone’” (Mark 10.17-18/Luke 18.18-19; cf. Matthew 19.16-17). Many Christians have been confused by this saying, thinking that Jesus implies that he himself is not good. Yet the NT often declares that Jesus was such a righteous man that he never sinned (Acts 3.14; 2 Corinthians 5.21; Hebrews 4.15; 7.26; 2 Peter 2.22). NT passages show that Jesus was not God. For instance, the NT often declares that God sent Jesus, God was with Jesus in his mission, and God raised him from the dead. Peter preached about “Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst” (Acts 2.22). Peter later proclaimed about “Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him” (10.38) Glory be to the Most High and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

Matthew 3:17 read as follows : And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Would God the Father say that Jesus is His Son if Jesus is not God ? This is the direct declaration from God the Father on the divinity of Jesus but many overlook the verse and even don't believe what it says . It is now up to us to believe what God the Father said or still try to find elsewhere and not believe in His own words . Is there any human father who ever acknowledge a baby monkey as his son ? A baby monkey which is not human being and of the different species from man ? Think about it ... God the Father declared Jesus is His Son because Jesus is God even though at time He was in the form of a human being .

The Bible never refers to God as being "3 persons"... If God is 3 persons like Lex, the other guy & myself, then that's outright 3 Gods or Trithiesm. The "Son" is simply the very same God taking on humanity & not a "God the son" or a separate person from the Father.. Didn't God say, he's "alone, by himself, no other, he is the King, the Lord, one person (Job 13:8)???.. As a one God believer, I teach that God did operate simultaneously as Father, Son & Holy Spirit for our redemption sake without being separate individuals of a group called the trinity. I'm a son, a musician, a preacher, will be a father, a husband but I'm still the same & my name is Brandon. We cannot make his coming in the flesh, to mean a separate person or someone other than The Father.... Coz the Father is the only true God. (Jn 17:5/ Mal 2:10) If Jesus is not our Father, then Jesus isn't anything else to us. (Is.9:6)... As a man of time, he acted like God was apart from him. (Phil 2:5-10). But he did reveal Himself in Hints saying to see him was to see the Father. Why? Because Jesus is the Father eternally & is not a "God the Son". People confuse titles for different persons of an unknown Trinity.. The Son isn't another divine member revealed to us. The "Son" is the Father taking on humanity who's been revealed to us. (Hebrews 2:16) "The Father that dwells in ME DOES THE WORKS". (Jn 14:10) "THAT DAY I will plainly show you of the FATHER" (Jn 16:25) What's there to show? I and my Father are one. I Jesus, am the Father. "Unless you believe I AM HE, you will die in your sins" (Jn 8:24) Who he? One of 3 sandwiched between 2 other persons? NO!!!! "unless you believe I Am the Father, you will die in your sins"
