Man the Revo’s are just amazing amazing kayaks!!!

Can't wait to get mine! Im getting a 2018 revoltion 16 seagrass green with: turbo fins, sail rudder, ama kit,daggerboard and the star sail supernova and gt sail combo. I choose the rhino bars and the rhino t-loader. I was hesitating between the revo16 and aventure island but the weight factor made a big difference. I will mainly use it for photography and keeping fit so the lighweight of the revo16 was more appealing to me vs the adventure island.

Great set up...yeah, the weight of the AI would mean you would need to use the Rhino Nautic Lifter. Have fun when you get the new rig. David

I have a 2011 Adventure Island and I have been using it primarily as a kayak with one outrigger deployed for my fishing on large reservoirs. Fantastic boat! I have the one trampoline on the outrigger side and it holds a lot of my extra rods, portable fish finder etc. Great fishing rig for trolling with the mirage drive. I run with a smaller all aluminum trailer designed for the boat (AI). I have also used it in pure kayak mode (very fast) but for all day comfort, storage you can get at and a little less speed, the one sided outrigger set up works super good for me.

You think it is as fast as a Hobie Revo 16 in Kayak mode with one person? Heard the revo can get up to almost 9 mph with the turbo 180

@@markybolton I don't know. Are the hulls still the same? The regular 16 foot kayak without sail etc. was called the Hobie Adventure back then.

16 foot is the only real ocean going kayak hobie makes.

I think I would go with a tandem Mirage Outfitter. Easier to get to stuff.

Boat has a huge tank well.

Hello. Would a hobie adventure Island which is also 16' stable enough to fish from without outriggers ? In other words the kayak alone. Thanks!!!

Hello Omar, yes an Adventure island is a very capable and stable fishing kayak without the outriggers and sail. The drop down dagger board aids with stability when in offshore conditions. You also will need to remember that the weight of the AI is approx 14 kg heavier. David

Yes. You get used to the thin hull quickly (maybe an hour or so). Just be careful reaching around for fishing poles in the rod holders behind you the first few times. You soon become one with the boat and don't even think about stability. I have been in mine in rough conditions and high wind and the boat acts like a battleship when you run into the wind/waves. It doesn't slap waves or teeter up and down like an Outback. The big sail boat rudder stays underwater and so does the mirage drive. You will make good headway in rough conditions.

It didn't fit in my storage... So 13 for me.

This revo 16 must be last year stock, no 180 drive.

Yes, when we did this video. The hull shape is the same and the MD180 drive adds additional effortless speed to the Revolution 16 and you can back out of tight spots. David

Rod Bendings World - Fishing & Beach Stuff . Do you mean to say it has some new feature that makes it go faster then the previous model or just that it can go in reverse?

Sorry, missed your comment , the hull design is the same but the 180 drive does perform better.

You got it, (go in reverse). I'm yet to buy the longer fins for it but I do have a 3 sqm sail for it.
