Thank you for being honest and accurate with your review! No added biased and usless, Karma bashing. I have a Karma, and I have a Mavic 2 zoom. Is the Mavic a better drone? Of course it is, solely as a drone. It's more forgiving of the lack of experience, more advanced programming and far more manouverable, but as is always pointed out, that camera stays on the drone. FOREVER. The karma's removable camera and stabilizer added to the Karma grip are an undeniable bonus! I'm afraid I had to learn all the things NEVER to do with the karma the hard way, most notably, never push return to home without being fully aware of exactly what is about to forcefully take place!! Know this drone well, fly it with care and not even the Mavic 2 zoom can produce video as beautifully smooth as the Karma. (But damn, will that DJI bird fly!!)

Hi James, Sadly the Karma is a good drone but the Mavic 2 is an awesome drone. But the karma is more fun to fly because there is no backup like the DJI drones. When I'm flying with the Karma I have to remember to keep clear of trees etc as unlike the Mavic the Karma will just keep flying. After seeing the DJI Osmo Action which is a copy of the Hero7 with better features and cheaper, its hard to see Gopro lasting very long 😭

@@DarrylCarey I was thinking the same thing on my way to work this morning. If this was a game of chess, DJI just made a brilliant move and I believe they already see a forced "checkmate" regardless of GoPro's best possible response. What if this new camera, or variations of of it, is used on their new, conspicuously absent Phantom continuations? DJI, using an easily removable camera that could be used without the drone, would be a horribly ironic scenario that would end GoPro, using their own ideas.

Very good video, straight to the point and very informative, tempted to purchase this drone!

The Velcro strap is for when you have the karma grip extension on the L grande stick

Its pretty cool they give u diffrent plug types, they assume ur going to be traveling when u buy the drone

What do you think of the Multicam editing ? First time using the Multicam setting in FCPX which is using Audio to sync the footage from 4 different cameras.

Karma is an amazing system. Multiple times I've gone out to shoot but because of environmental, law/regulation, or just unsuitable conditions for flying any drone, I was still able to capture amazing video with the camera and Karma Grip. With Karma, you can get great areal footage, but you aren't limited to just 20-30 minutes of just views from the sky.

Brilliant video. Just got a karma few weeks before.

Unfortunetly GoPro announced that they pretty Sure won't create another Drone or at least a Karma V2 because of the Big Problems and the lost money :/ nice Video!

I love my Karma and truly hope that it never falls out of the sky. I'm real close to pulling the trigger and buying another one just to simply have as back up since the prices are right. My only concern is.....do you think if GoPro does indeed release the new 7 this year do you think it it will work the drone? My concern is with the lack of software updates that will never come for the Karma now, future GoPros will not work?

Rich Kline go pro said they blocked the firmware from the ones that where not replaced ... so u will know if it flies it has been returned :) and is the version that doesn’t fall lol

It works with the grip. Had to do firmware update. Haven’t done it with the drone yet, but I did see a video on KZread showing that it does work.

So the answer is yes, Karma works great with the new HERO7 Black.

To the people who have been complaining about Karmas “crashing” I have logged about 200 flights with my drone and have experienced almost no issues. It is a great drone, and I’ve had more little issues or hiccups or “mandatory updates” with my Mavic Air than with the GoPro. Though both are great. Essentially, don’t knock the GoPro! It’s compatible with the Hero 7 and they added a bunch of new functions to the drone along with it. The ability to swap out cameras and have new features added makes it a great deal!

Well look on my KZread page and you will see for yourself one flying away it cost me almost $300. to get it to fly again

It would be great if GoPro made a smaller drone with the same gimbal insert and same ergonomics as far as how the legs flip out at the bottom and the arms flip out at the sides. That would save set up time and create something portable. Use same control pad. Maybe they could team up with DJI to do such a thing? 🤔 But I also think GoPro should have linear mode across all the resolutions and frame rates to avoid fisheye if desired.

now there is a pretty decent bargain on official gopro site, karma with hero6 and gimbal included for roughly 630euros. debating with myself whether i should pull the trigger or not. really confused about it loosing connection and falling down, that would be inconvinient

i also bought karma recently think it was a good deal :)

The worse downside to Gopro Karma is the GoPro Karma Stabilizer it breaks every time you crash i know I have replaced two at $249.00 each plus tax $260.00 . They will just fly away or drop out of the sky still buy the drone kit and through the drone away. software don't work correctly

GoPro HERO cameras have a wide angle lens but can shoot in different FOV. The older cameras have Wide, Superview (4:3 stretched to 16:9), Medium (less distortion) and narrow (only using the middle of the sensor. Newer HERO cameras (HERO4/5/6/7) have Linear (flat, non-distorted) FOV as well as Wide and Superview. The HERO6 and HERO7 also feature digital zoom.

hey! im thinking of buying the karma drone, but im scared about some reviews i saw in amazon talking about how the drone falls from sky when it loses connection, At what altitude does it lose connection?..... also they say that is a poor quality drone. I need a drone and a hero 6 with that amazing gimbal, however i don't want to lose money with a drone that can crash at any time with the risk of losing the go pro and the gimbal to. GoPro fixed that problem. I had mine since April 2018 and only crashed once due to my fault. Easy to fly and the videos and pictures are awesome.

Since I have GoPro camera - yes. Mav Pro 2 looks nice and sure its a good drone. But its one device. With the Karma you get three devices - drone, camera and handle stabalizer that can be used together or separately.

If the battery falls out it's a 2016 model

My Karma 2 fell out of the sky two weekends ago. Need to replace two arms and undercarriage. Batteries not damaged or undercharged. Have to prove to myself that this is 10n% safe. And, there is US sectonal charts in drone. There are numerous helipads around me that prohibits operation. Is getting progressively annoying to fly in area. Anyone finding same issues?

Sorry to hear about your drone, never had a issue with the Karma Drone. Only good part about the Karma is you can buy the spares and fix it yourself, sadly with DJI you have to send it away to get fixed.

I own the karma, and a DJI Spark. If it weren't for karma's 4k, I'd say the spark is better. Every time the karma goes flying, I'm sweating bullets that something might go wrong. Not with DJI

nice im defently intressted in the go pro drohne , i dont like the style from dji ... but the new mac pro2 should be good , ive heard . so the go pro should be a second one and i would be amazing

how high does karma can flight?

My karma keeps loosing gps and i panic and take over the control do i leave it to find the gps again or do i try to land it my self. It has happend twice and borth tines has crashed

Multicam is using different cameras from different angles and using the footage to make a video while going from one click to the other ... everything was shot in one take :)

I’ve been doing some research in the past weeks because I want to buy my first drone but I also want to have a camera that I can take to places where I can’t take my drone, so I think this would be the perfect fit for me plus I’m thinking on getting gopro 7 which everyone is going crazy because of the new super smooth feature and the great price, but I want to ask you Darryl Carey or anyone that has flown this drone if when it gets to certain distance would start losing connection with the control and can crash, and if that happens how far can go without starting to do that? Anyone? I ask this because I heard on other videos that’s the main concern....

I have never flown the karma a good distance from the control, as I have heard bad things about losing connection.

I just hate the fisheye lens so I’ll go with the Mavic air :)

I own one and I will not fly that thing again!!!! I should have bought a DJI. Not a good reason to buy a GOPRO. Mine crashed in the ocean and innlost everything. Even though GoPro ran the flight log and deemed it their fault and sent me a new everything including gopro hero 5 I will not lunch with my camera again. Putting a hero 7 in there? Kiss it good bye. Gopro is no longer sending out updates so why would you buy one ???
