4:04 is literally my reaction in pretty much every single match at these tiers

Joobs "bad day" is me on a good day

If you want to use the aim54 you have to climb to 10k and launch at mach one while aiming 20-30 degrees above the horizon. the missiles will dive onto the targets from straight above and you'll get a bunch of kills.

I unlocked the f14's a few weeks ago and it has been my best performing top tier jet by far for me. 3-1 k/d so far with minimal effort. I spam 6 phoenixes every game then dive back to base and rearm with full aim7 loadout. I get so many kills using this method my highest kill game with it so far is 8 kills. The best thing about this method is its good for grinding too since u get more activity time. The phoenixes are soo good if u figure out the best way to use them. I can regualry get 3+ kills with them right off the bat. I just find the biggest blob of fighters get fast and launch all my missiles then slow down and let them track as far as possible then i cut back and flare back to the airfield. The thing that sucks about top tier jets is no matter what plane ur in u have to get close to the fight to get kills and doing this theres always some random plane coming out of the abyss to ruin your day. So being able to get kills without risking yourself too much is so op and definitely the direction top tier is gonna go once better fox 3 missiles get added. Gotta play to your strengths whenever possible.

Some don't know this, ACM PD if it's says 5400km/h or a speed instead of a distance it will lock any range as long as they come at you, the F14B ACM is 9km locked but still PD ACM, another odd feature of the radar is while locked you can switch between PD and SRC while maintaining the lock.

What's crazy is how much better a real life F-14B would perform, some major things being -TARPS(IRST)- (correction by Berserk4575), real engine power and acceleration, fuel tanks, AIM-9M, Mach 5+ smokeless AIM-54C, and of course a trusty old RIO

F14a is in a really good place now, infact i find myself playing the A more then the B nowadays ♥️

Got it a week or so ago and it is absolutely amazing. Full up tiers are very rare because of how saturated 11.0-11.3 is, and even in full uptiers you can comfortably dump hundreds of flares with no worries of running out. The 7M's do have the weird problems of just flying into the sky or ground sometimes with perfect locks but the radar itself is still very nice.

Do you think you could make an updated video for tips on improving with jets, specifically once you get into that 8.7 area where missiles start coming into play more. Finally getting to this Br range and struggling most games

i don't know if i'm just particularly lucky in air RB or what but i actually get plenty of phoenix kills, my friends are always asking how i do it but i always just tell them the same way to use them, optimal distance, when not to engage to begin with, how long to hold lock, etc.

could yo do a updated ja37d viggen because i feel like its at a lot better of a spot now

Hey you think the Bravo should get 9m’s? They gave it to the AH-1Z, which will eventually have the 9x if that’s added. It did use the M’s and people who have flown it say this openly (Ward Carroll)

My radar to this day keeps bugging out and can’t seem to get enough locks with the strong radar but oh well

I hit 3 phoenixes in back to back games a month ago it’s on one of my shorts

honestly, the most fun I've been having in pretty much any plane, period, has been in the Mirage 2000C; either the event or the Tech Tree version. they feel absolutely lovely to fly, the missiles work enough to make it fun, the flight performance is very good (obviously you're not hanging with an f16 but stuff like Tomcats and Fulcrums are absolutely dogfightable), radar is VERY good.. and obviously they're the best looking fighter jets in game. duh

Sam here, S4/S5 are at a very comfortable BR with a decent kit and excellent performance. I tried the 5F the other day and 12.3 is rough with much more common up tiers. While it’s an overall upgrade to the C-S4/S5, games are quite a big tougher at that BR range so I think I’m going to stick to 11.7 for the time being.

AIM-54s are only viable for attacking low flying,targets with 40km range, but it got wrose after the recent update

I run 4 54As and I'm able to get 2/4 kills with them quite often. And even 4/4 sometimes, in 11.0-11.3 games. Also 2 9Ls and 2 7Ms help a lot. I enjoy Phoenixes so much, can't wait for AMRAAMs, they'll be even cooler. And I got Talisman for this plane today yay 🥰

​@anthonyzx6180 I physically loft the 54Cs myself. Get lock on someone while in the climbing routine, usually 80-60km out, and at 8-10km altitude while 0.9-1.1Mach, pitch up to ~20-~30 degrees and send it when target is near 55km or less in range. This usually results in the phoenix dropping down on top of a target, making some RWRs not activate for it. Also makes it harder to dodge due to the extra energy. But this is just my method, I usually get a kill every other game and I run 2 54Cs

Hey Joob! you should play the T-62, it's really overshadowed by other tanks but it can be really fun to play!

the 12.0 matchmaker is crazy, i got three downtiers to 11.3 in a row with three- four kill each in the normal mig 29, it has to be PAIN for any 11.3 premiums out there rn, but at least they cant see 27s anymore.

It's better than before 12.7. In 23mla and 23ml I had 1 downtier per 50 games. Now it's 1 per 10 :D

Join you have to try 11.7, I played 110 games in j8f and only got one full up tier, j8f with python 3s at 10.7 is crazy

As of late due to the BR decompression, 12.0 has kinda become how 11.0 is but at top tier. In my experience, most times i find myself in a downtier to 11.3 or a full downtier with a few full uptiers to 12.7 sprinkled in here and there. Its quite forgiving

@_Joob Yh for real. It's just a sea of free RP every time I hop into the 29 9.13. Feel kinda sorry for them for having to put up with it but, remembering all those 10.3 matches I struggled through that got butched by of all the bomber dads in their F4S... I have a little less sympathy when I manage to slam one of them before he manages to bomb a base. It's cold but man this game is absolutely frustration

Yeah I'm grinding with the F-4J and most of the time I get uptiers to 12.0, rarely get 12.3 and 11.7 matches compared to 12.0s. Its gotten even more frequent with the F-20A getting added, hopefully I'll finish grinding on the Phantom and get the F-15 soon because I dont think my brain can take any more R-27ERs in the rocket brick. Definitely going to grind out the Tomcats before the F-16s.

I enjoy playing with F-14A more than the B model. Enemy planes are easier to kill with this radar which can’t lock from the rear and you have to go to SRC mode to lock. And playing against Mig-29, Su-27…..is pain. F-16C can handle them easier

The f14a is actually viable again and i enjoy it quite a bit now.

With the F14B it’s mostly climbing to a decent height and then raining Phoenix missiles on lower targets. They work best on flat maps. Usually stay high as long as possible before turning and decreasing altitude. I always get 2-4 Phoenix kills at the start of each match this way.

what i dont get is, how it is modelled in game. is it fire and forget or do you have to keep the enemies locked? how do you engage multiple targets at once? is track while scan, headon the right mode to use? do you have to lock single targets to increase chances? when do the phoenixes switch on their own radar? do the missiles use doppler or how dies the phoenix active radar work in gsme? my phoenixes do not seem to work 99% of times…

​@@Siddichalso firing in stt does give a better chance of hitting but keeping a lock that long could leave vulnerable and unlike tws the enemy will get an rwr warning the second u fire, with tws they only get an rwr warning once the missile gets close and goes pitbull

Not joob but run flares only. Don't climb in f16. SARH is useless when you can have 6 heatseekers. Play low.

Preflare is the only way at 12.7. If you just pop 2 flares and they can’t get a lock on you it will save you losing speed and more flares dodging the missiles. Just don’t let them lock in the first place. At downteirs you can just cut the afterburner and you flares should still work but preflare is still recommended.

Flare pods only come with the AIM-9 rails.

It's still quite good. Especially now that 12.7 is the new max. And the aim54s work wonders in grb lol.

Hey,you need to go in your settings and find the "rectangular radar" (or something similar) and switch it on. Its not a command. Have a nice day

If you are talking about ACM (Aerial Combat Maneuvers) mode the hotkey is in the controls, under "Radar/IRST beyond/within visual range combat" - set it to whatever you like and then use it to toggle. Only works on planes that have ACM mode obviously, basically all high tier jets have it, both F-14s have it, but most earlier radars do not. I suggest you also become familiar/proficient with the other radar functions though since you are severely limiting yourself when playing the F-14/top tier in general if you don't understand the radar on your plane. There are some tutorials on YT - I'd recommend the one from Tim's Variety, although Jaek just released one a few days ago but I have not watched it.

every match I get at least 5-8 kills with only the aim7 and aim 9l's. its absolutely good even in 12.7 matches

@@BarryAllen__1A23 They didn't i was wrong... The latest data-mines indicated they nerfed the AOA of the missile by almost 50%... But i just missed the part where it was buffed by the exact amount on the previous data-mine (which was never applied to the game - only the dev server) and they decided to not apply the buff... So nothing changed, false alarm 😅 i mean i've played like 10 matches after i unlocked the phoenixes, i get 0-1 kills with them... And i get killed by them like once every 10-15 matches. People know how to avoid them these days, they aren't that great...

I don't understand how the F16AJ is still 12.0 tbh. It's Sparrows don't work anymore, it only gets 9L's and it's basically no flares. Should be 11.7 or 11.3

What about the f-14 A

I kinda don't even like using the F14 I think the F15 and F16 are more fun and more manuverable. The F14 feels quite clunky for some reason. Joob always makes it look easy though 😂

brother the phoenixes are much more reliable than people give them credit for. 1-2 kills per match almost guaranteed with 3 or even 4 kills happening quite often. Its all about the launch parameters.

I was the same way till someone taught me. When getting into dogfights pop airbrake and lower yourself down to .95 Mach. At that point you can retract the ab and hold a turn without bleeding much if any speed. Once I learned that it became such a fun plane to fly

same but I've always been an eagle fanboy so when that bad boy was added my tomcat friendship ended and begun with f15.(I still prefer the feel of the tomcat airframe as it doesn't lockup as hard at high speeds which was my biggest criticism with the f16/f15)

I say the f-14 is better to grind with than the f-16 because it gets more missiles and it also get aim-7s unlike the f-16A

still score 1-4 kills per match with it, ppl even with RWR cant understand a fat phoenix is headin their way
