    I've used 2024 Fox X2, 2023 Super Deluxe Ultimate coil, Ohlins TTx22m, and the Storia V3 on my enduro bike. Can confirm, Storia is the best feeling shock I've ever used. Ohlins feels very good but much different than the Storia. The X2 and Super Deluxe didn't feel bad, just not on the level of the Storia and Ohlins.

  • @JaggedTusk

    @JaggedTusk

    27 күн бұрын

    @@OtterMTBtech I found the Ohlins was the easiest to get feeling good mainly because it has less adjustment with only two positions for the high speed compression. With the Storia I feel like I'm able to dial in the shock a little better because there is more granular adjustment available compared to the Ohlins and Rockshox. Since the Rockshox only has 4 clicks on low and highspeed compression I can't get it to feel quite as good because the gaps in adjustment are so wide. But it's hard to screw it up at the same time. I'm able to get all the shocks to feel good enough that I wouldn't complain too much if I was forced to run any of them. The biggest downside to the Storia is the rebound adjustment range is very small and you only have adjustment range for about two spring rates. If you're outside those two then you might need to get the shock tune changed to get the rebound correct. This applies to the Ohlins to a lesser degree. Rebound range on the Rockshox seems fairly broad. The Ohlins and EXT are noticeably most sensitive than the Rockshox to me.

    Did you use same sag with the shocks you comparing this? The EXT has lower internal spring rate (lower damping oil pressure) according to your testing with the weight scale and you use lower rate spring on it so the ride height must be lower also. You can't get around it by changing damping. Every suspension set up should be started by setting up sag and rebound. You skpiped this step and started changing every possible adjustment all at once rather than doing bracketing.

Personally, I like the IFP in the reservoir rather than the bladder, but the V3-S also uses an internal negative coil that allows it to be much softer off-the-top. Steel shaft adds some weight, as well as durability. Additionally, the V3-S and e-Storia use a different piston holder, hence the difference in noise output compared to the Arma/Storia V3.
