Currently reading a book on conspiracy theories. We as humans are constantly looking for patterns. The world is super complex and we need to make sense of things. Americans have a right to not trust the government, but I think more and more people lack critical thinking and that scares me.

unfortunately you can now offload your opinions, thoughts and knowledge onto google, just need to remember where you saw it and be able to describe it to the little device in your pocket and there you go, have someone else tell another person your thoughts and feelings

Some of the other major contributors to election campaigns are the NEA and the Lawyers Guild. Both of these present tremendous amounts of money to Federal and State legislators and 'guide' legislative actions.

The real tentacles in government come from Business. Business has always operated outside of social norms, and are all about profit for a few. American capitalism requires 4 things: - Continuous source of cheap available labor - Continuous source of cheap available materials - Efficient, resourced, cheap production = Profits for owner/stockholders Business uses it's $$ to ensure whoever is in power optimizes policies, procedures and laws that maximize those things.
