Is the CF Moto 800NK All Hype or the Real Deal Against the KTM 790 Duke?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The KTM Duke 790 has been in production since 2017 and was KTM's first parallel twin bike. Nicknamed as the "Scalpel" for it's agility and pep, the 790 was very well received by riders.
CF Moto has been making the engine for this bike for some time and has decided to try their hand at creating a bike to rival the Duke.
I first saw the 800NK in Vegas earlier in 2024 and thought it had great potential. Many creators and editors have been praising it for it's similarities to the Duke with added benefits like cruise control.
BUT- how do I like it as an unbiased rider and buyer? Do I think it stacks up and outshines the Duke like everyone else seems to say?
My answer may surprise you.

This is great to hear- maybe the demo ones we got were not happy with being ridden all day long around Daytona. I really did want to like it- I went in to the demo thinking I would love it and say it's a no brainer to buy one.

@@alexdombi-weridetwo Hi I'm from PH and own the advanced version. I experienced the same issue but only during sport mode. Very jerky at low rpm and there's a flat spot at around 3k rpm. So I decatted it and remapped it with the same 9800 rpm limit just made adjustments to the AFR. The engine runs so lean at stock and for me that was the culprit. Side note: I asked CFMoto regarding it and they told me that an Update via OTA is coming in the coming months but just couldn't wait and the factor of it still not fixing the problem is there so I went ahead and had it remapped.

@@alexdombi-weridetwo just went back there few days ago for my 10k pms. One guy told me that there's already a 2024 version of the 800nk with traction control and he thinks it's possible to have tc on the current version too via update of the software will keep me posted whenever the new version comes here and if it's possible to install one on the current gen and how much would it cost.

I own the cf been riding it for two weeks now, the lean mixture problem is unfortunately there. IMHO easily fixable with an O2 sensor eliminator kit which costs approx 70€ and works in the closed loop (so in the 3000-4000 rpm range) for me coming from a 701 svartpilen which ALSO had a jerky throttle this issue is manageable. I will probably buy an O2 sensor eliminator along the way. Aside from that the bike is tons of fun.

I feel like this is a great bike and I'm really looking forward to checking it out. @@alexdombi-weridetwo Thank you, friend. The CFmoto 800 nk has two versions, sport and advanced. The advanced version looks a little different, has an 8-inch TFT display, a steering damper and other improvements. It was important for me to save money and get the most technology. So far I am satisfied.

I live in the u.s have the 800 nk. The bike is freaking amazing. I have not had any issues with any modes i use but yes it can jerk you a little in first or second gear but with good throttle control i do not get it that much at all. My next bike will for sure be a cf moto bike.

That's awesome, I am glad to hear you are having a great experience with it. I wish I could have ridden it for more than 20 minutes and messed with more things. After 24 years of riding and having ridden over 100 different bikes I'd think I have decent throttle control. The issues I experienced were not due to my right hand- or even my left. I'm hopeful they had just an issue with some of their production runs.

The more I think about it- the less a Z900 makes sense for the growth of this channel. My goal is to help people learn about bikes, learn about how to work on bikes, and learn where to ride bikes. People who would be buying a Z900 won't come to my channel for how to videos, I think? What do you think?

I've been really considering buying this bike since it came out. It is significantly cheaper than the Duke 790. Here it costs 39k($8k) while the duke is priced 60k($12.5k). But the problems people had with this bike gave me big turn offs. The throttle mapping you mentioned, quickshifter problem, and there are some who got their plate/indicator holder broke and flipped to the rear wheel. For me, it's a shame. It's a really good bike for what it's worth. Good video tho.

Made or not Japanese bikes are still using China parts. My 800 nk not only runs amazing it built damn good. So if you ask me I could careless where it comes from if the price is good also build. Cf moto is no joke when it comes to the building the bikes so just because something is made in China does not mean it's not made good. Cf moto has been around since the 80s

I think only Suzukis sold in the US are for sure from Japan. And parts are sourced globally, by globalists, who like globes.
