The Rupture and Tempest designs are the reason I started playing this game in 2005. I had never seen ship designs so unique and interesting in sci fi before and I just had to get involved with the game to fly them. Then I realized that EVE was basically Tradewars 2002 with a graphical interface and I fell in love with it even more.

EVE is an incredibly special and unique universe. The fact that there is SO MUCH lore hidden beneath the surface too, and so much going on... It's astonishing!!

you mean the targets?
Yep, those devoted rooms can get downright hairy. The first time I ever tried an abyssal deadspace, I was barely three days old and had just bought myself a Rupture. I thought the abyss looked cool, so I decided to take it into a t0 electrical. Unfortunately, I had terrible skills and didn't have any idea what I was doing. The first room I entered had a Skybreaker. I was completely unprepared and got utterly destroyed XD I was crushed and under the impression that Abyssals were just way too hard for me. I didn't find the nerve to try again for weeks! XD I look forward to the Vagabond video, and would love to see a Cynabal video. It was one of my favorite ships in EE, but can't really figure out what to do with it in EO.

Awesome story! Abyssals can be scary but I'm glad you gave it a second attempt!
Not sure if you mentioned it in the video, but in the fitting you mention using EMP rounds, but I would swear that in the Abyssal Combat demo you are using Phased Plasma (Thermal damage). Of course when you check the resists of the Sansha rat then thermal is its lowest armour resist anyway as it happens, and you are pretty much through the shields by than point anyway. On the whole, great video as always. Looking to learn how to run abyssal stuff and your videos are helpful. Moving to calm so I can learn tactics and rats, but dont want an expensive fit so this looks ideal. Its not about running T0 to make more isk at this point, its about learning what I'm doing so I can move up to higher Abyssal Deadspace. Keep up the good work!
@captainbenzie

Yes, I'd accidentally loaded Phased Plasma at that point but it should pretty much be EM. It's a cheap fit and a great way to learn - good luck!!
You were stressing me out leaving your large shield booster overheated at the end there lol.

Yeah I'm bad at that 😅
14:22 I've always been amazed in Echoes by how many people never realized it gave a passive penalty. It was one of the reasons I main afterburners, I liked ships like the Stabber, Rupture, Thrasher, Typhoon, and of course the Hurricane and i always found the MWD fits of those so cap unstable you'll cap out just from a hardener. I admit, the Stabber is notorious for its horrible capacitor but thats a trait akin to a lot of Minmatar ships. Terrible capacity, excellent recharge though.
@captainbenzie
Жыл бұрын
Yup, it's not very well explained and a lot of folks miss it. Sadly, in Echoes, recharge on ALL capacitors is constant.
It tickles me I'm not the only one that looks at the Rupture and gets Galleon vibes. Specifically it looks like the upper stern deck, where the wheel and captains quarters would be. Even the engine thrusters look like some of the decoration you'd see a galleon wearing.
@captainbenzie
Жыл бұрын
Yup, it's literally got a stern, poop deck, and full broadside magazines with cannon hatches! And yes, the thrusters are very reminiscent of whipstaff ornamentations, similar to ships like the Mary Rose!
I really like the look of the Rupture, i also like the omen which i know is not your thing but we agree on autocannons for sure. Just the idea if them. Its an expanse thing to me somewhat, and BSG remake, the autocannons in both those shows were awesome. Anyway i trained into Arty because I was flying a thrasher but its no big deak to train up autocannons.
It’s a beautiful ship for sure. Love it really much ❤

Yeah, as I said, it works, but there are better options
I still have to recover my loss from picking up a random fit for the Rupture in T1 abyss. The only thing I'm thankful for is I managed to save a couple million ISK by using the tier down in guns and not stocking up a ton in faction ammo. The failure was survivability, as it used passive shields and I couldn't sit around waiting for the shields to recharge. Killing things was also dreadfully slow with the 420mm guns, the battleships I was afraid of never showed up and I kept struggling against frigates and destroyers.
My first cruiser. Been forever ago. God i thought it was expensive back then lol! 5mil!!!
love you videos

Thank you!
Allow me to rephrase, what skills do we need to survive the deadspace with average/suboptimal gameplay, e.g. the T0 Corax build that I run needs 120 dps from skills to overcome the pacifier
So, i loved this video but there was one thing i have yet to figure out. When can you activate the filaments? Can you just go in from any location in space or do you have to got to a certain point? This is the only bit i have no clue on for sure and i havent had a chance to tey it yet.

On a ship with a raised prow and stern deck section, you have a forecastle and a castle at the stern. On a ship without a prow forecastle, the stern one becomes the forecastle. Also where the poop deck is. At least, that's how I was told when working on the Golden Hind.

Uzi? Hair dryer? Black and Decker, mate. 😂 I wonder how far up the abyssal chain one could go in a Ruppy? I lost a Vexor in a T2 to a Marshal in about a minute this morning, and I knew it was going to happen. Do you think a Ruppy could do T2s?
@captainbenzie
Жыл бұрын
Hmm, it's a big jump from T1 to T2. Might be possible with the right fit and implants but...
I purely run T6s and i grab the nodes with an MTU dropped on the gate and it adds minimal sometimes no extra time to my sites. If they're too far away I leave them. Some T6s one room can have an extra 40+ mil from just the nodes in each room. just today I had one node drop 17 mil. I did have a 6b drop also last week. sold as well. :D

newbro here, I was thinking about the MTU but didn't know if it was possible/good idea, should I try? Because right now my thrasher clears faster than my Rupture so there are no incentive isk related to use it instead of the destroyer

@kr4ftt

@@captainbenzie can't I just use the drones to destroy those far away then pull with the mtu? otherwise what is the point of runing the calm ones with the trasher? The ammo is expensive and you waste more because autocannon instead of arty, it's slower to finish but the payout is the same. I mean maybe some different blueprints but since I'm a newbro I don't have enough skills to make it profitable... I'm in a pickle...
@captainbenzie
Жыл бұрын
@@kr4ftt depends what you're running and in which Abyssals. Cost of filaments is why I steer clear of Electrics as they tend to be expensive. I'm merely showing things that newer players can do, it's up to you to figure the most profitable for you. The point with Extraction Nodes is that they take time to loot. MTU can help with that if you have a ship that can shoot them quickly. If you don't, it's often better to run multiple Cache only runs than a single slow full loot run.
you should do a vid on your marshal!

i wouldnt recommend cruiser to do anything below t3, even as a alpha its not worth it, you can do anything under t3 in a destroyer or frigate which can yield you way more isk, cruiser in t1 gives same money as frigate in t0 but slower as ship is also slower, better off doing something else with a t1 cruiser rather than doing abyss

I get you need/want to do the intro stuff but that whole section describing abyssals seems unnecessary/repetitive. Just link your other videos regarding abyssals and move on. That being said I loved the rupture in EE, even more so the guardian versions. Tring to reproduce some of that gameplay in EO with logistics cruisers.
