Is the 2023 Nissan Altima Turbo a BETTER sport sedan than a Kia K5 GT?
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Altima is getting some upgrades from Nissan for 2023. On the outside of the SR Turbo you will discover one of two new colors, unique 19in wheels, aggressive new front fascia and grill. On the inside you will be greeted by zero gravity seats, a new 12.3in infotainments system and standard size sunroof. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 mated to a CVT. Is the 2023 Nissan Altima Turbo a BETTER sport sedan than a Kia K5 GT?

Thanks again team...great video. I've owned three Nissan's and those all seemed to be ahead of the curve when it came to technology and being ahead of the curve against the competition. Nowadays, it seems like the value (and excitement) just isn't there when compared to other vehicles in the class (even the all new Z car was a letdown in my opinion) Non-LED lighting, plain analog gauges, basic sunroof, large gaps in the panels, 1990's keyfob (that is the same keyfob I had in my 2008 CX-7) and noisy CVT just don't justify the cost. Also, as you pointed out, the exterior seems like a style mess with too many lines, shapes and colors that are not cohesive.
I had the previous gen, and loved the about of storage, trunk, glove box, door pockets, and elsewhere, but now it has has the amount of storage for a family sedan.
Nissan makes good honest vehicles and the zero gravity seats are no joke, I have them in my 2021 Titan pro 4x.
I love it Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video 👍💯💯💯
I swear a 9 speed automatic would make altimas the best selling mid sized sedans with the beautiful design and the screen
I had a 2016 altima SR V-6 . Great car, extremely comfortable and performance was amazing. Wish they would bring those back…..maybe add a turbo too! 🎉 4 cylinder engines, turbo or not 👎🏻
Your Pop Culture references are taking me back, man... Pepsi Clear, Slinky... You're gonna have me watching videos about these things all night!
Nissan needs to give this the Mercedes 9speed auto, Full LEDs & Panoramic roof like the Chinese market and it’d be the Midsize car to have!

Need to crank up the Bose stereo and drown out that turn signal...good review as always Joe.
In my opinion, the daytime running light needs to stretch the full length of the headlight like the Sentra. The wheels look plastic in person because of the finish. The gap between the headlight and engine cover is slightly less abrasive but still noticeable and a concern in stormy weather. The fake front vents look terrible from the side because it follows no body lines and needs fog lights. It would be cool to see a black line followed from - front (real) intake to the grill. The lack of a blacked out front chrome V-Motion grill kind of leans away from their design language in comparison to the previous model. I like the interior screen though!
I like the way Nissan did the Altima good video Joe
The Altima and the Maxima could bring more sales to Nissan, but they refuse to listen to the consumer (it's my opinion). The CVT transmission makes me want to buy a Camry, KIA or Sonata.
@raiti’s rides inspite the bad cvt,is there lagging of any kind? Does it drive? I got the 2018 2.5 s and it lags like crazy unless I the hood pooped up

All the switches and knobs feel decent. very forgiving cars specially for daily beaters ( Just my personal owners perspective )

Listen I do like the styling on the 5th gen but the 6th gen facelift is just that much better I don’t see how anyone could prefer the styling on the old one to the new one, it’s simpler yet more aggressive, it absolutely looks atleast equally as sporty of an sr trim as the later 5th gens and I’d say its got sportier styling, it’s almost not even objective. Pre face lift 6th gen sr yes are mediocre for sporty styling but the 23 model looks damn good.

JJ ~ SR Wheels = SUPREME. splash guards really are functional. baby sunroof ? - passable / good enough. they could have used the money on that back thingy for rear led turn signals. it falls behind competition engine & transmission wise, but if you compare Altimas to previous Altimas it is making gains ( slowly evolving ). interior is nicer than average. I dig the RETRO KEYFOB lol. I like the steering wheel. rear seats looking roomy. the interior stitching really give the interior a cool contrast & looks a little expensive. oh look, a school zone > ON THROTTLE lol. i’ve owned a 2022 altima for the last 10 months and all i can say is the side mirrors suck. the transmission needs to be an automatic, awd needs to be an option WITH the vc turbo, and some other things in that direction and this thing would definitely be a nice lil car
I will say that Nissan is better than Hyundai and Kia only because they have a lawsuit and are paying billions of dollars to fix and replace engines while Nissan is making good engines and now I understand some people are biased about the CVT transmissions but you have to maintain them and change the fluid of the CVT and not have it flushed so it doesn’t break. And Nissan is doing better replacing the pathfinder and frontier to the 9 speed automatic so time will only tell when the rest of the line up with Nissan will get the 9 speed. This altima is very nice i will say. But if I had $37,000 I probably would get this car knowing that some Nissan dealers do offer a lifetime warranty of the engine and transmission of course. And Nissan is different and unique from the competiton but I will say Kia and Hyundai is no good.
