I'm old school. V8 no turbo anxiety. Simple right to the point. Went to the top of my list. Four door goodness, reliability. Good investment. Seems to check all the boxes. Has the power when I need it. Just need a great stereo. Great enthusiastic review. Thanks a bunch Joe . You are the best.

how many other sport sedans have you driven??? Reliability is overrated from what I have seen. Shit I made a Dodge Charger RT reliable and go look at the reliability ratings of that thing.

Joe you’re having way too much fun and I’m super jealous. Always been a big fan of Lexus because of their comfort and reliability and I think they did an amazing job with this IS. Great review!

Lexus all day for me too baby! I just got the 2022 IS 350 Fsport a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it. Now this IS 500 with the N/A V8 472 HP!!! WOW. Must be an absolute thrill ride to drive. Love your videos and N/A energy that you bring! 😄😆

Wow that thing is sweet, refined, sporty, historically reliable, and sounds awesome. I think I just found my daily driver after you posted the base prices because that is right in line. Was totally expecting a higher tag with that V8 and leather in there.

Other than the track pad nonsense, I love the interior and don't think it's dated at all, I think it's contemporary... really love this, inside and outside, stunning cars built properly to last! No silly turbos, all NA and will last 3250k miles no problem! Loving the on throttle action, once of the best...

Joe, as a long-time Lexus owner and a previous owner of a 2008 IS250 (cough, cough), I would most definitely go for one of these IS500's any day over any German product. The main reason would be because of the overall reliability of this product. I really got a kick out of this full-throttle review, too.

2008 IS250 was my dad's first Lexus! He currently has the 2014 IS350 and passed the 2012 CT200 h down to me. We're a Lexus loving family! It's super reliable, lovely drive, and all around beautiful brand.

@@alicemccree same here, made the mistake of going German for my first car last year and it became riddled with problems, got tired of it and sold the merc and bought an is350. Now all 3 cars my family has are Toyota’s with two of them being with us for 6 and 12 years not a single major problem just peace of mind. You can trash Lexus all you want but you’re gonna be regretting when your car breaks down every other week lol learnt anxiety the hard way.

I love how you made the price and everything appear on the screen. Excellent work!!!!!!

Red seats, V8, having a red glass of vino Rosso, on throttle, on throttle… just found my next car. Two years ago you convinced me to get the Toyota Highlander, loving it - no regrets but my wife will be inheriting my Highlander. Lexus With theV8 engine will be my next car. I can only imagine how much this car will be worth in a few years from now. Phenomenal review and thank you!!!

A great review Joe! The Lexus predator grille looks fantastic on the cars, it's the CUVs and SUVs where it gets stretched and looking a little wonky.

My last GS300 had over 200k miles all original, not a single issue! Now I have a supercharged GS-f and I LOVE it!!!

Guys let me tell you something. This car is one of the most fast selling cars in the market right now. I had to wait two months just to receive my Lexus IS 350 DHP. Imagine trying to get your hands on the IS 500 LOL Goodluck. I don’t feel like the interior is outdated at all. The fit and finish is nice and the cabin is comfortable and sporty.

The IS series just has those beautiful classic Lexus lines that I love. The transmission is the only thing holding this car back from being a true competitor performance wise to its German counterparts.

Great driving review, Joe. Superb videography Lori❣️I’ve got a 2021 RX350, great car, very well built, super on interstates but not very fun to drive. I’m a performance sports sedan guy I guess!

I can only imagine the sound with a cold air intake, as it sounds like it has one already. I like it most cause its such a sleeper car.

This has become one of my favorite cars! Love the naturally aspirated power and great work :)

Lexus does an AWESOME job with those sport sedans..I DEFINITELY think you get a lot of bang for your buck!!!

3:10 that's actually the transmission cooler. Lexus didn't bother to put in the oil cooler but there's room to put on there so props to Lexus for having the options for modifications to put down on this IS500

Joe I love that new Lexus IS 500. the styling blows me away and the interior is beautiful. the dash is not dated and I like the touchscreen.

Great review Raiti! Considering an Audi S4 and M340i as choices for my next car when my 2019 Volvo S60 lease ends. Will definitely have to check this one out! Also going to add the S60 T8 Polestar Engineered to the list. That’s one you should check out if you haven’t already as an alternative to the German and Japanese mid-tier sport sedans.

No replacement for displacement!!!!! Definitely I have a love for horsepower and a damn good exhaust note. Not a fan of the EV market or impressed with the lack of true driving experience you get from a gasoline engine.

Beside it just look very similar to my 2017 Lexus IS200t both the outside and inside. It still look like a actual car unlike those newer one rely on touch screen and boring internior look.

Really? I guess you haven’t watched any of his videos. He acts goofy on all of them.

If you want better performance than purchase the M3, Mercedes c63(s) or Audi RS4. The Lexus IS a normally aspirated V8 with adequate performance for most but the utmost in craftsmanship and reliability. If it had AWD it would be more ideal, but having owned a BMW M3, M5 and M6 I can attest these vehicles have crazy performance but chronic unreliability. I’ll take the Lexus

This car is perfect for those of us that want a nice client-lunch car that you can also be a total hooligan in on the weekends!

Great thing about a performance Lexus is that you can push it hard and unlikely chance of breaking down in the long haul. V8NABABY is a perfect plate!

I like the price. Love the V8. As for the lack of tech. No prob. The sound of the V8 engine does it for me.

Another dagger in the heart of the Acura TLX Type S at the Base trim ($56k). I wish the car had launch control but I have to assume that 0-60 is better than claimed. This car from a roll is probably much faster.

Base type s price is 52K u can only get it to 56k if it has every option and accessory available or a dealer mark up. And the car does have launch control it just isn’t bragging about it… yes I agree the car falls short in performance from factory but Honda mobile mechanic did a simple inlet tube upgrade and a Dow pipe and it can now do 13.0 to 12.8/9. Now imagine when a tunes get out? kzread.info/dash/bejne/hGaJysyana3aos4.html Oh and the 0-60 of the is500 is definitely better than claimed. More like 4.3-4.0

I’ve been going back and forth on this and an M3. Short term M3 hands down, but long term IS500. The reliability factor and lower price point is what is drawing me to the 500.

If your leasing the M3 would be better, but if your buying and planning to keep it the lexus would be better. Both cars will have good resale value, you can always sell it.

I’m in the same boat! Really really thought about a new m3 or m340i, I’m just scared long term. I just can’t put my money down on a car id be worried about long term, it just doesn’t make sense to me and scares me.

im a huge lexus fan boy even with a v8 i find 67,400 in this market with no discounts kinda steep, i paid 82,500 for a LC inspiration during lockdown, guess ill keep enjoying that for now

Most people aren’t buying the launch edition (only 500), so nowhere near $67k. Thusly most will fall in the $56-$61k range.

Love the sound, really hope they have auto lane centering and Adaptive Cruiser control that follow the front car all speed on Highway
