@@DeletedDenizen but are still not selling as much as they should considering they won more design awards than vw cars in past few years and are way more reliable than vw but don't sell as well as vw except in a few countries like Australia.

Ive had 2 Mazda's and they were both great. Honestly, the name, their name is like nails on a chalkboard. Nobody is impressed or intrigued when you say, you own a Mazda lol. Their cars are good quality, just kinda.....souless aside from the Miata and a horrible sounding brand name.

They don't offer CVT transmission because they don't make hybrid vehicles. All other companies they do, therefore CVT transmission is a must. Mazda transmissions are not that great. I worked as a Mazda technician for many many years, and I replaced these transmissions all the time both 2 wheel drive and AWD. Working 30 years as a technician, I maybe changed once Toyota transmission, on the other hand I changed a lot Mazda, Honda, and Nissan transmissions CVT or non-CVT transmissions

@@positively_broad_st3780 I worked as shop foreman at Mazda between 2001 and 2020. Therefore I am talking about Mazda in general, old ones and new ones. I did have gap between 2012 and 2017 when I worked as an College Professor in Automotive Technology.

Congrats mazda for being the top 1 most reliable automotive brands for the year 2021. Imagine they beat BMW and porsche on this! You guys deserve this!

Planning to buy 2021 Honda Accord xse but I changed my mind after watching this video . Everything I want in a vehicle are in this car : leather seat, excellent trimming , blind spot assist and etc . That I don’t have to pay more for those ! Thank you Raiti!

We just received ours this week... same model, AWD turbo Carbon edition. Love so far!

I love the sleek, minimalist exterior style, and the premium quality interior of the CX-5

Just drove my brand new Carbon Edition home from the dealership a few hours ago. Then watched your video to see if I could learn some of the features a bit faster than reading the manual. Great video and the CX-5 Turbo is everything you say it is. Fantastic to drive and everything I need in a new car.

@@tylerjmast Thats a steal--I just paid 35k out the door for a CX-30 Premium Plus Turbo.I sold a 2020 stinger for a big profit and was able to buy my CX-30 outright and pocket almost 10k.I just put an exhaust on it today and use premium gas and the thing Flies for what it is.In the CX-30 that 2.5T goes from zippy to fast.It has no prob hitting triple digit speeds while getting on the HWY and is faster and has a better interior then a q3 which is 50k.Car prices are way up--the CX-30 I bought is now listing at 37k and I paid 35k with taxes etc.A similiar CX-5 was 40k.

Awesome job reviewing this vehicle. Based upon this review I have one of these beauties on order with my local Mazda dealership. I hope to take delivery within the next two weeks on this exact same vehicle. Thank you!

Just purchased a 21 CX-5 Signature and Love Love Love it! Superior handling (If you like the heavy steering, which I like) and very elegant interior. Worth every penny, way better than paying a $40k non-turbo CVT.

Love the new updates on the CX-5.. I have a 2015 with 180,000 miles. Car has been great to me. Definitely would buy another after I drive the wheels off the one I have.

Hey Joe, thanks as always for the informative review. As a car insider, not to mention a snack-cake aficionado, have you heard anything about the new CX-50 and its launch date?

My wife had her carbon edition delivered Tuesday, she has the black interior, black lug nuts and wheel locks. She traded her 2018 alfa romeo stelvio to sport for in. While it doesn't have the performance or amenities of the alfa, it's a nice car.

Drove 2019 BMW X3 and 2020 BMW X3...and my mom/s Mazda CX-5 and Mazda feels lot more high quality in the interior

Do you have the Bose système sound or the regular one? Cause I want to buy one just like this one but here in Canada it comes with the regular sound system and can't have the Bose with this combinaison

Computer adjusts everything and you actually don't get any gains. It's all in your head.

@@itcantrainallthetime9886 incorrect. This motor is DI and has octane adjust built into. Can run on regular but when premium is added, can run more aggressive timing hence the power increases. Mazda disclosed that premium is needed for max power but most people will just run reg.

This is the same version I got about 3 weeks ago. I'm a person who like drivability, rather than all the bells and whistles Nissan, Toyota, Honda tries to give you. That 250 HP/ 320 lb tq along with the great steering response is why I chose the CX-5 carbon turbo AWD version.

@@Mrtellitlikeitis Well what do you recommend that is better for about the same cost? Because I have driven the CX5 Turbo and I though it was great. But I'm used to the wind noise with the Miata, the Lotus (can't hear anything over the beautiful exhaust anyway) and Honda Element so...

Definitely the one I would buy in this respective category. In the Carbon trim.

I plasti-dipped the chrome trim around the doors, and around the grill, and dipped the badges on the back. All in matte black. Looks badass.

Nice and smooth ride.

As an owner, I can definitely say and confirm what Mr. Raiti is saying about this thing. Though, I'd opt for red leather instead of the black leather. Red leather just makes THE statement instead of making A statement.

Joe, awesome review as always, but you missed something that you thought it didn't have.... I literally bought this exact car 2 days ago because of your review. Guess what.... Just went out to get some bottles of water from the back (it's 10pm and dark).... and there IS cargo lighting in the back. When the hatch opens, there's an LED light in the inside of the hatch and, with the hatch up, it illuminates the entire back cargo area really well!

Do you like the AWD with Turbo? Does it give you more grip? Generally I use FWD as it has better gas mileage, and my area does not need AWD, but maybe AWD pairs better than FWD with the turbo.

I love my 2020 CX5 GTR, best car that drives well for the money and doens't have a CVT! My only complaint is the screen in the speedometer, i almost feel like it's useless but hopefully they fix it in the next gen

Very nice car and great job as usual Joe. We’ve owned several Mazdas and will likely own more. Gotta ask though... is it the camera angle, or is the steering wheel not registered for when you’re going straight? It looked like the wheel was *slightly* turned to to left when going straight. If that’s just compensation for our crowned roads, then I can forgive it. But it’s a major pet peeve of mine. Hope I run into you out there someday (not literally) so I can say hi. Love your content and the fact that you’re a neighbor. 👍

Mazda so underrated they're right change from zoom zoom to Born Be Alive. CX-5 is a great crossover I'd take it over CR-V and RAV4. I look at Mazda but something like Volvo or Lexus the cars are sporty and fun to drive. Think Mazda is like Oldsmobile doesn't get enough attention until test drive it I consider it up there with now Kia and Hyundai it's a beautiful crossover.

This is great SUV! I have a Grand Touring with heads up display. Love it. Wish I had the turbo though. I want to yell "On Throttle"!!
