Not gunna lie, I think the exterior of an SE looks a lot cleaner than this XP. The rims and the badging looks aftermarket. For the same price, I’d get a manual Accord 1.5 Sport

These are dealer add-ons. XP is not a factory package. Toyota doesn’t put on aftermarket wheels in factory.

@@boosted1955 it is actually not a dealer package, rather it is a southeast toyota distibutors package. However everything is installed at the factory as far as I am aware.

It just needs a grippier set of rubber tyres (tires) and you'd have better handling on the corner turns during fast cruising speeds. That is all.

Xse is way better offers way more tech & features, full leather interior than a body kit and an exhaust that increase no horse power at all.

XSE V6 is 6k more than the TRD so that is why you get more creature comforts

Went with the Kia Forte 2020 Gt2 package after your review. So much value. Camry came in close second. Great review as always.

@@Mattwiistand have had it for a month now. Have the gravity grey. Blacked out the rims i have a 35% tint all around minus front of course, and changed the branding to brenthon. A Korean company for kia Hyundai. Not that Im "hiding kia" just really liked the look. Its Good on gas. Looks great. Whats your main concern?

@@Mattwiistand I average 32-34 mpg. Depending how hard I hit the pedal. I have the auto. Its fun to drive. I believe the gli has a higher msrp. For me, power performance and comfort is perfect. Its going to depend what your looking for. After doing research there wasnt a better option for me. Fully loaded out the door for 23k. Hard to beat.

The road noise is way too loud but better quality materials though.

Cant go wrong with Toyota products. You buy it for the reliability, everything else comes 2nd. As priorities should be when purchasing a vehicle

Im still sold on the Toyota Camry TRD in the White 2 tone or all black. Unfortunately im gonna have to wait until next yr to get it....got some bills to pay but once October comes around ill be ready to get the camry TRD....who knows what the 2021 TRD will bring

Idk i like the accords, ive test driven one and ive never felt my face push back like that from the G forces this car feels like it puts out when you floor it. Its faster i than the camry trd because of the turbo but what scares me is just that....the turbo. Thats one more thing i gotta worry about fixing when it breaks vs the camry is a V6 naturally aspirated. Plus the camry trd looks so much sexier lol. So its gonna be trd for me

Definitely would pay extra for the TRD. The XP's 2.5 motor would have been better if turbo at say 250hp, 220tq or so. Great review as usual Joe 👍🏾

I agree. I’m looking for something like this. I’m going the Camry route. I wanted a Honda, but I changed my mind

The thing about the S shape entertainment center is that it allows drivers with long legs, like me, to sit comfortably. With my dads accord, the hard plastic hurts my knee after driving for 30 minutes, but I can drive for hours with my camry

Literally this model is a offbrand version of the nightshade edition Camry. I have the nightshade Camry and it comes with all accent pieces blacked out with black rims. But the brakes are silvee

@@RaitisRides Those XP are very rare here in California. Haven’t seen one yet. Only seen the nightshade edition and TRD trims.

Really like the Camry in general, wish we had other options here in the Czech Republic too. The only one that Toyota offers here is the hybrid one. Similar situation also with Honda, one engine only, no Si or more powerful versions neither...

FOR ANYONE TRYING TO FIND THESE, THIS IS THE SOUTHEAST DISTRIBUTORSHIP. They are exclusive to that region of the U.S.. YOU WILL NOT FIND IT ON THE REGULAR TOYOTA WEBSITE. I know nothing about these and I've worked in a Toyota dealership for 33 years. The modifications are done after the fact once it hits the south.

4:14 In Australia where I live, the "Ascent Sport" trim (identical to the US market's SE trim,) but it does actually come with FOUR exhaust tips. One for each cylinder! Although two of them are fake.

I love this car. I love the interior & exterior. Are the seats heated for the winter? 🤔 btw, I’m 5’3 will this be a good sized car for me?

I’d def spend the extra couple thousand to get the XSE with same engine but a few more options on the inside. I have a 2018 XSE with 2.5 and love it, sticker was 31,xxxx, price was dropped to a little over 28,xxx. I do like the blacked out look on the XP though. I don’t really see a difference on the exterior of an XP vs an SE, save for the black wheels and badging??

It would be annoying as a daily driver, super low ground clearance and the loud exhaust. If you want that buy an old junky civic and slam it and put a fart can on it

I prefer Honda Accord 2.0 sport. Cheaper in my area and I can find used ones too. Camry with the V6 used are so hard to find because Toyota makes so few and the ones that are made are sold off right away and will never be seen again in a used car inventory for 3-5 maybe even longer years

Trevor C If you had the extra money, would you ever consider buying a used Lexus ES instead? It’s basically the same car as a Camry but a little nicer. I’m thinking of buying a used ES 350 in the future and from my understanding, the V6 takes regular gas (unlike Lexus’ others sedans).

XSE V6 is way to go. I like the styling stuff on TRD but it’s still an SE+ really compared to XSE top trim. HUD, bigger multi display, bigger JBL audio infotainment screen, leather, pano roof full LED head/DRL/tail lights, dual climate, AC vents rear, front/rear parking sensors with bird eye camera, etc etc. Overall I’m still glad I went with it over TRD.

They arent dealer add ons, they are added at the regional port by Southeast Toyota. Big difference.

I'd definitely get the Honda Accord 2.0t with the 6 speed over this but still a great mid size sedan.

I’m so over Toyota’s “fake” sport cars. No more Just appearance and more real performance please!

I wouldn't call this a sports car in an trim.

I hope that Toyota would also produce limited editions of higher horsepower Camry, 350hp or over. I had 2019 Camry but I traded in after 6 months to a more fun to drive sports car.

My favorite Camry models LE LE Hybrid SE SE Hybrid XLE XLE Hybrid XSE (No hybrid on the XSE model unless you get an Avalon or RAV4 XSE Hybrid) TRD - Absolutely no hybrid models here.

Looks like the 2008 LE appliance my girl had. I worked forever tho

Anyone who buys the absolute cheapest Camry on the lot just should've bought the most expensive top trim Corolla XSE instead.

It looks fine for what it is. Yeah, it's an appearance package with a few nice things added in. No, it's not as fun as an Accord or Mazda6... But you'll have the last laugh when the Honda and Mazda owners complain about repair bills, and the Altima is already on its third CVT transmission.

It just doesn’t seem like you really get the value at 28k. That’s Jetta GLI money. That’s Passat money. I think the accord is a much better value for 28k. But you can’t really go wrong with a Camry either.

I guess Toyota fans would stress reliability.

What kills that car for me is in fact the lack of quad tip exhaust. You can tell there’s a spot for it, and it shows that they cheaped out, and so did you. That and the terrible, dating looking infotainment system. I’m a huge Toyota fanboy, but the Accord Sport 2.0 is what’s in our driveway... next to my Tundra 😬
