Is Table Mesa Road the worst Jeep Badge of Honor Trail?

While Table Mesa Road is one of the smoothest dirt roads I have ever been on, and certainly doesn't deserve to be a Badge of Honor Trail, we took some side trails and ended up having a great time.

This isn’t the trail you want. you went west, go east on table Mesa road and you’ll have a completely different experience after a couple miles. Great trail

So I have heard, but the Jeep Badge of Honor trail is what this is about. We are going back to Arizona this coming weekend and plan to do the other side.

@@TrailTraveler I live about 10 miles away and hit this trail all the time just for a quick trip. The east side has some great runs and if you have the time you drive all the way to Seven Springs. The west side also has some great trails and some extreme trails that I wont do. (Lower and Upper Terminator.) There is a long drive to the north west that takes you to an old mining town, etc. Hope you enjoy your next run out here. (Very sad with all the trigger trash, it is disgusting.)

If you take Table Mesa Road to the west, try the Indian fort as it is called and the road to the Tip Top Mine there you will have some fun

Table Mesa road west of I-17 doesn't make sense as a badge of honor. As you noted, you can take any car on this road. Table Mesa road east of I-17 to Seven Springs/Cave Creek road would make more sense. I consider it as moderate trail to borderline difficult depending on the latest flood damage.

@@TrailTraveler Having lived in Phoenix practically my whole life. There are two trails every off roader knows is "Challenging" Table Mesa Road east to 7 Springs, and the back way to Crown King. I've never heard anyone call that New River Canyon trail. That's Table Mesa Road to 7 springs. Otherwise, it's Table Mesa road to Lake Pleasant. The Jeep Badge of Honor App, is wrong.

@@namluu Well, I just like being outdoors and enjoying the day out & scenery...driving "sedately" and not being in any hurry. That's one reason I don't get the point of a "desert-runner" (Baja-type) where you high-speed it out there. What's the rush? Were I still living in West Texas (ELP, desert area), I'd likely have gotten a Gladiator Mojave (even though it's advertised as a desert-runner)...not to speed through the desert though, I'd still be driving fairly slow enjoying the trip. But it IS nice to know the Mojave can handle more "serious" 4x4-ing should that be needed -- I like having that "cushion" (more vehicle then I USUALLY need) -- just n case. Same for the Gladiator Rubicon...one doesn't have to ALWAYS be driving/rock-crawling it to the edge of its performance envelope (or beyond as some do!) every time one goes off-road. Forest/Fire/Service roads, and easy-moderate trails/mountain passes...and if more IS needed, the vehicle CAN do it. -- BR
