I love how you’re having the optimistic viewpoint on these points. There are tons of people who talk about them and it’s a little discouraging so I’m happy you’re bringing the positive of these things. I’d love the graduate interviews on the podcast! Yes! But I can’t believe people are concerned with the long videos. 😅😭 It’s a lot of useful information - I guess for me I love the details packed into the videos. 🥰✨

I'm loving your videos! They keep me so motivated. I understand why people are afraid of these negative points, because I did an Erasmus year in Belgium (I am veterinary in Brazil, planning to study medicine in Italy) and I know how frustrating is when you arrive in a country and you don't understand what is going on and nobody gonna take you by the hand. But I agree with you, this type of experience make us grow up a lot! At the end is the same all over the world: it is not the University that makes the professional, you need to chase it, because the real world (not the illusional academic world) is so much harder, you need to be PROACTIVE to be a succesful adult. Again, you can have good friends and family, but nobody gonna take you by the hand! It's scary, but at same time it's so great, it's the purpose of life living our own ways :D

Funny, being italian, I had the opposite reaction when seeing other university systems, the norm was for me oral exams and not written one. Yes students must have a lot of self control, motivation and a small leap of faith in feeling prepared to do an exam. I strongly suggest to all foreigners to get a digital identity through PEC e SPID, other than booking the appointment at poste directly online.

If it is possible can you give me info about how many percentages of student need to repeat a year and how many need to dropout from the medicine course in general? I'm quite concern about it because I was a medical student from one country in east Europe and the dropout rates here is ridiculous...like 50-60% couldn't move to second year. I'm planning to study medicine in Italy and found that your videos are very helpful, thank you so much and good luck with your studies.

As someone who discovered Anki in 6th year, I thought I could rely on it for top grades for the rest of my life but I wonder how I could incorporate Anki when most of the exams are oral? Could you pls consider doing a video on how you incorporate Anki into studying for oral exams?

Because the English have a strong sense of inferiority towards Italy? Why, apart from the south, is Italy richer, better, healthcare, economic, industrial, a paradise, has the first navy and air force? You work in the factories of former British companies, but now Italian, fat, redheads with freckles... Why? Leave the glittering London, there is desolation in Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Walles, in the north, look for work in Dublin, Scandinavia, Australia, if not for the Indians...

Hello!! I have a question about the topics on the oral exam. Does the students know which topics the professors might ask? for eampel is there a list of topics for every subjects? I study in Serbia and we have oral exams as well, how ever we know the topics beforehand. For examel in Biochemsitry we had 93 topics. On the exam, the proffesors asks maybe 3 random question of these 93 possible once.

@@earth2ellie to answer your question since I am from Milan and I speak fluent English. Would I even consider speaking English while being in hospital in distress because of a serious illness? No. As Serra said it is the patients' right to be treated in their own language in their country, because being in hospital is already an extremely difficult situation... and I find it a bit insensitive to be asked to speak in a foreign language on top of suffering from a serious condition. You also have to consider that even fluent speakers of English hardly know any specific medical terms in English, which are normally very similar to Italian but pronounced in a way which is normally rather incomprehensible for us. So just one question to you now: would you find it fair to ask a patient to speak a foreign language while in hospital just to accomodate for a student's professional needs? Obviously I am just one Italian... other Italians might give you a different answer, but I find it makes much more sense that medicine students learn the local language before having to deal with patients in distress. If you were studying any other subject it would not make much of a difference, but dealing with people going through highly stressful and possibly painful times of their lives does require extra sensitivity which means not asking for an additional effort on their part.
