Is something different about the front of this tractor? 1956 Ford 960-5 LP Gas
Charlie Hardesty of Indiana is all about Ford Tractors. One of the stars of Charlie's collection is his 1956 Ford 960-5 LP Gas with factory adjustable wide front. Most Ford 960's were sold with a factory narrow or "row crop" front end, and estimated 15-20 percent were sold with the factory adjustable wide front.
Charlie's 960 has a Ford 4-cylinder, 172 cubic-inch, LP gas 46 horsepower on the belt and about 38 horsepower on the drawbar. Back in 1957 the Ford 960 would have cost you about $2,561 US dollars or about $23,356 US dollars in 2019.

I just wanted to let whoever runs and oversees this channel. It is wonderful and amazingly well done. I firmly believe if more entertainment could be this positive and joyful we could all live a more positive and productive life.

Does Charlie have a web page??? I have 1963 Ford 4000 Industrial 4-cylinder Diesel I'm about start in on and would like some advise.
What an enviable and truly curatorial collection of Fords!
Beautiful Ford tractor and quite an amazing collection of tractor treasures! 🚜👍
I realy think was ahead of the game on all their tractors their still all used on farm just as much as collecting them their still useable if runing good we farm using a 801 it still looks great and keeps up just as good as are new tractors. They had a great lift system and always have some times i forget some are so old
Beautiful restoration, love the early iron. First new Ford in this part of the country was a '53 Julibee.
Mine is a F 951 with 5 speed row crop, looks alot like our F 901 four speed row crop Both were my late Uncles and I rode with him many hours as a8 year old
Beautiful looking tractor frontend a little wide for my liking and the reconditioning is absolutely fantastic, , , , 👍 , , nice job mate.
Classic Tractor Fever, eh? Good for you. I hope you always have such a noble “illness” and you live for many years to spread it to others. Good for you and thank you very much for all your restoration work and your willingness to provide entertainment and knowledge to others. Terrific video…thanks…..Mac

It's the name of a TV show. RFD TV en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/RFD-TV Classic Tractor Fever
That colour combination looks so nice and grille is beautiful, good looking tractor. In here Finland only Ford tractors In those colours i have seen were 8n models, here was more Fordsons before blue Ford tractors.
My father had 1958 model 951 diesel with a wide front. I wish I could find it.
I've been watching this show on TV for a couple years now. Love these videos... I've got a '55 Ford 860. Very similar to this 960. I've found it very tough to use the 3 point mounted 2 bottom plow. It digs too deep plugs up with dirt, wheelies the tractor, or just stalled it out. I've moved the draft control lever up and down with no success. My IH Little Genius 2 bottom plow, on rubber tires, is dramatically easier to set the depth and makes very uniform furrows. So what am I doing wrong with the 3 point mounted plow?

Sounds like too much depth in too heavy of soil. My 960 struggled initially with a 3-14 that's identical the one in this video until i took several hours to study KZread and learn how to adjust and set it. Also, plowing sod is a much different experience than plowing previously worked soil, i know that's obvious but i myself did not account for how difficult it was. As for the draft control, the lever won't help if the coil is adjusted too tight. The coil below/behind your seat that attaches to the top link should be able to be moved or rotated slightly by hand. If it is tight, it won't properly adjust draft for you. Also, make sure you're using the proper pin hole in the bracket for the top link. If you look carefully, the bracket itself tells you were to attach the top link so as to activate the draft control correctly. Hope this helps, I know the comment is old but I couldn't help myself, since i had this exact situation myself and had to figure it out the hard way.
I'm pretty diverse in tractor brands (mostly Allis Chalmers and Ferguson) not really into fords, i mean my brother owns a 1949 Ford 8n which is pretty nice, but what i really like is the 900 series, i like myself a 940.

How 'Fifties can you get ? terrific machine
