sam had 31 and 33 goals the last 2 years, then 57 this year.....he's only had 1 year of this production,,,he needs to show more than 1 year to get this type of money, he's also 29 years old ...a couple of years ago kreider had over 50 then after that never got more than 39

If Marner is worth 11 million... Reinhart is easily worth 12 million.

If we go there if reinharts worth 12 then sasha is easily 15 16 mil player and connor is worth atleast 20. Reinhart is good player but not special player, 8mil at max.

Guys who are big and less than 30 years old who score 57 goals are worth a lot. The problem with Reinhart is that 57 goal tally seems to be an extreme outlier. His career high in goals previously merely was 33. He's not a defensive stopper. You can't play him on your penalty kill. If you pay Reinhart $10M AAV and he reverts back to his career mean of around 30 goals per year with only so so defense you've wrecked yourself. Risky bet. Caveat emptor.

I get what you’re saying but you realize he was 4th in selke voting? To say he’s not defensive is not a stretch, it’s not true. I don’t think Florida pats him that much but he will have that option. The Hope is he stays at a discount and we bring back as many as possible

I still maintain he'll sign a team-friendly deal of 8x8,5M.

Several things. He did score a lot of key goals his season (powerplay) including the Cup winner. His age is working against him. Plus, where would he have been without Barkov? I'm thinking he will end up taking 8 to 8.5 million tops. Whether it's with Florida is a whole discussion in and of itself.

Nylander isn't actually good compare cause Leafs over pay so much to their stars.

Considering they don't pay taxes, he can sign for 9 million and still be making more money than Nylander or Marner.

He’s a 8x9M player in this market and in Florida imo

Hard to see him at 10+, know he had a good year but that doesn't mean he's going to ever produce anything near that ever again. I would like to see the league change rules on cap though, either give teams with higher tax more cap or teams with zero tax less, it's kinda unfair if you think about it.

Florida has some serious decisions to make. Reinhart and Montour are due up then next year is Bennett, Verhaeghe on good deals plus Ekblad and they don’t have much in the cupboard. It’s going to be hard to repeat.

I don’t think that # would age well attached to Sam but as of right now he is

Did this former 7th pair defenceman just compared Reinhart to Nylander? One is Stanley cup winner, other is not. Pretty obvious who is worth more and has done more. Willy is 8mil dollariduus player at most.

If i would be the owner and would see that my gm is paying same penny more than 8, i would kick that gm out for sure. Hes 30, hes not that fast, great scorer, especislly pp, the thing with Sam is that he cant do it himself, he needs good setups alot and this season was just faitytale. Ive seen enough with him and i wouldnt pay him for 1 season success, you need to look big picture and not be fool like many people who are telling you this bs.

Most of us panthers fans realize that part of why he did so well this year is he was with barkov and he probably won't match it again. However he's still a good player that fits in here and hopefully he'll take a bit of a more team friendly deal
