The way the drops work now seems better. I believe before you had to claim a drop before the timer started on the next drop, now the timer starts on all of them from the start. The time for the drops would increase the more you claimed before anyways.

I have 4k hours, been playing since launch when I was 12. Sad to see what once had unlimited potential and inspiration has become a money suck. If they ever thought to really engage community ideas this game would be so massive. I feel like the last hope we had is gone

why does everybody complain about the servers? I have 1600 hours and have almost never had server issues. Honestly, in my experience, rocket league has some of the best servers of any online game I've ever played.

I got the drops before they fixed it, legit there was not a SINGLE thing in there of interest, the new decals or boosts or whatever are so useless so it’s just not worth anything when you can’t get anything of value from the drops and you have to pay for them

One thing I will give epic no matter how bad it's been, is once a big company takes over something like this they will make it as profitable as possible then start pushing out new stuff and rewarding consumers, Textron did this when the bought Arctic Cat 4 years ago and now we finally are getting the power sport products we expected they just had to get the company back in line and I can only hope epic is doing this with rocket league and that it will come back stronger than ever, I mean look what epic did with Fortnite it's done very well so I will have hope

Some people are saying get gud and I kinda agree but what this man is saying is that after probably 10k games throughout the course of the games history he and I have seen this game disintegrate from what it recently was. We no longer get gud because the game is poopy these days! Expect more people

as someone with 3k hours RL is completely dead to me it is more than clear they do not care, I do not care about how good a major was, the game is still in a dogshit state and for me stale and boaring.

Maybe you aren’t at a high level? Grind some mechanics and be creative with how you score goals. Makes it fun to almost like freestyle with a friend and go for insane shots you wouldn’t normally try for

Why does NA even have more than 1 spot anymore

The core mechanics have always been the saving grace of RL, hence why rlcs continuously pulls in viewership despite the game receiving little to no effective updates or support from devs. The reason the game is dying not bc we need new modes or “fun” new mechanics but bc of an indifference to the wants of the community. Still no clear answer as to why trading was removed besides corporate greed, the rocket pass is shit, the item shop is shit, and the servers are at an all time dogshit state. Why would anyone waste their precious time grinding mechanics if the servers are so shit that it doesn’t even matter? If the game dies it’s simply due to lack of care cuz epic is sitting on a gold mine.

Right now if you don’t play with friends and can’t easily rise up the ranks the game is dead

This is good news, but I will point out that most of this is the doing of Blast, not epic. Blast has dramatically helped the RL scene while epic has not done too much. The central server addition is good, but only a start

4K hours: I get on to shit on kids in casual now I don’t even play ranked anymore and I’m SSL. RL doesn’t listen to anyone and they just care about stupid fucking bundles that only bronze to silver players buy.

I am feeling a little more positive about the game. I hope that this continues but I am not confident. Thanks for making a positive video though, we need lower ratio of doomers in the community.

The game is more than dead, it's been nuked from orbit by epic. It's so bad that I'm surprised psyonix hasn't sued epic for buying out competition and dismantling it. I mean let's look at what epic did: 1. Bought out psyonix and rocket league under the promise in the legal documents to use their financial backing and manpower to make the game better in ways that psyonix never could with their small team. 2. After acquiring the game, they made the game free and did not touch it for years 3. They laid off nearly every dev from psyonix 4. They removed trading 5. They removed dropshot for the season that they removed trading 6. They reduced the pay that pros received which did big damage to RLCS, along with the whole giving teams no time to get there that one time 7. They made it so getting into RLCS is based on your RANKED MMR instead of actual skill 8. They have been purposefully tone deaf and ignored all pleas from the community to do literally a single thing for the game besides tear it apart. Personally, I think their goal is to kill the game so that they can liquidate all the assets for money to support Fortnite. Now how is this NOT a lawsuit. Any lawyer would take this case in a heartbeat if it was two tech companies instead. Like imagine Apple bought out a local phone repair shop, laid off every employee except for one manager, liquidated over half of the assets, and never touched the store again. I have never heard something more illegal in my life.

Epic was never competing with rocket league though. Yeah both are games but Fortnite’s take off was WAY and has historically been more profitable than rocket league ever has. 2nd what assets are their to liquidate at psyonix? It doesn’t make any sense, why would it be worth it for a billion dollar company to destroy a smaller studio. 3rd I guarantee that item shop sales have driven up exponentially since trading was removed, which was their only way to make money. Being a free game how are they supposed to pay for Esports/Payroll, or any of the other expenses. Could you honestly tell me that after ten years the game would still be sustainable from the game selling copies? Probably not. Some say that epic are money hungry and are ruining the game. Really they are just trying to keep the lights on and the game above water, for as long as possible. Some people forget that it’s a business. This comment might be the most ignorant take I’ve saw so far on the matter.

I mean just look at any other game that also has a skill based multiplayer grind, like LoL, SMITE, Overwatch, etc. Their main money maker is the shops and not selling copies but they all have maaaaassive amount of money rolling in. Because believe it or not, when you update your game and make it better, people will play the game and want to buy things for the game. Imagine if LoL didn't release any new content for years but only released skins. It would be the exact same situation as Rocket league, where they start liquidating the assets to keep the servers up because no one wants to buy new skins for a game that's been the same for years.

@@thenayancat8802psyonix used to do a weekly post about rocket league talking about the game and what’s going to happen, they also gave shoutouts to lots of people for finding glitches, making mechs, giving suggestion, or just making underrated content. They added updates that we actually cared about lots of times and genuinely LISTENED to the community. They also communicated everything that was happening frequently
