I just saw Tenet at Medlock RPX in Duluth GA. I was impressed with both the huge screen and the sound. I plan watch movies at RPX theaters in the future.

I have seen Marvel Studios films in Cinemark XD, IMAX, and AMC Dolby. Regal RPX is the only format still on my Bucket List.

@@MarquezDaniel when I first commented that , I’ve only gone to XD, and that’s all . Since then I’ve tried all these format . My list is DFX , Dolby Cinema , XD , IMAX , then RPX . DFX is similar to Dolby Cinema but I liked the chairs in DFX more including screen and sound .

I saw UNHINGED in RPX The day theaters reopened..My husband and I were the only people in the theater. That was nice..Let me tell you, we are both sold on RPX..The sound, screen and seats were awesome, oh, and The movie was great too..

They’re decent. No as good as other premium seats.

I have a couple questions, I recently went to a local regal and they upgraded all screens to the nice seats and upgraded screen and says rpx, are they all rpx or it rpx one screen that has an additional feature like Dolby atmos with those new seats? Also they said all screens now have laser projectors, does anyone know which projectors they used for the new laser projectors?

Just saw Top gun Maverick went in unemployed, left the theater a fighter pilot. It's that good.

You mean XD. Cinemark XD basically crops a widescreen image to fit while IMAX shows more of the widescreen version (top and bottom) which would fill up your TV screen at home. To anser your question, they probably do crop a widescreen image to fit the RPX because only IMAX has the license to do that. They are short with IMAX cameras, not XD or RPX cameras for a reason. I just wish all movies were shot in 16:9 😅😅😅 I have black bars and zoomed in crops.

what do you think about RPX vs 70mm in regards to seeing oppenheimer, im torn.

@@jessieFSD you know. It was pretty good. It was about $5 cheaper than Imax proper and the experience was very similar. Vbig screen and a noticeable audio upgrade to the regular speakers

Imax is still king, however if you have RPX available it's def worth it

This was not as helpful as I was hoping it would be, although part 2 is definitely more useful than part 1. The title of this video is "Is Regal RPX worth it?" but when it came time to actually answer the question, it was a quick yes and not much detail into why. What was it about the experience that made it worth the extra money? 90% of this and part 1 are not helpful at all.

my favourite film format is IMAX/IMAX 3D depending on the film... my 1st RP(e)X eXperience came when i saw Green Hornet in its 3D format. it was amazing! yes its 1 level below IMAX but well worth. i normally do not watch regular or standard 3D films because they just dont work for me. flickers in higher formats, they are well worth it. i am not a fan of it but can you please do a segment on Regal's Screen X? much thanks & great work as usual.

@@WrestlingErnestHemingway As far as I know, Regal shows the aspect ratios correctly. When you see the curtains moving around on screen after the trailers and before the movies, that's the theater adjusting the screen to show the correct ratio.

My regal haves rpx and imax! I am happy

So that I'm understanding IMAX and Dobly Vision are high end the best of the best and rpx will be 2nd best and 3rd place will 4dx if you what some extra entertainment? If you had to pick one and why?

The RPX I have in Vancouver Washington does not provide the real movie experience although they advertise as an RPX and charge a premium price per seat, honestly I can’t say that the experience is anything that stands out to me as wonderful as what it is marketed to be. I will say that when I have to watch a movie in regular format I think Regal goes to extra length to make that experience stand out as a bland benign experience so that when you see a moving in the RPX theater you are more impressed by it than you would be.

While the RPX movie experience is very good, in San Diego where I live, that experience is typically compromised by their "good seats", as is it in many premium theaters throughout the country. How is that? Sound quality is noticeably compromised for comfort by the seats' high backs - at least for those normal-sized people whose ears end up below the top of the seat back. Here's how it works (or doesn't). Regardless of the immersive sound format used (Dolby Atmos, Auro, etc), directors, sound designers, and sound engineers usually go to great lengths to carefully position and move sound objects in 3 dimensional space. Sound objects can be small like a buzzing bee or large like a helicopter or swirling hurricane. Each sound format carefully positions and balances the sound from many speakers to properly recreate the spatial audio effects that the filmmakers created in their mixing rooms. High-back seats destroy this careful audio matrix in 2 fundamental ways: First, they prevent sounds from behind you from reaching your ears compromising the immersive audio sound field. Second and most important, they reflect sounds from the main screen speakers back to your ears, increasing their relative volume and obscuring the image focus of sounds from these main screen speakers. This compromises dialogue intelligibility, the most important aspect of cinema sound. You can clearly hear this for yourself. Next time you are watching a movie with immersive sound in a high-back chair, spend a couple of minutes leaning forward enough to get your ears at least 6 inches forward of the seat back. Chances are you will find all sounds, especially dialogue, much crisper and easier to understand; you will hear the sound field open up. Devil's in the details and high-back seats are the devil. So as good as the movie experience is in these premium theaters, it could be significantly better. BTW, for many years I worked in the audio business training people on designing high-end home theaters; I worked with Dolby Labs engineers developing products, technologies, and training to properly transfer the immersive audio experience from the mixing room to the home; and I trained high-end home theater installers throughout the world about correctly implementing Dolby Atmos and Auro.

Vancouver Washington statium 16 Regal Theater boast an RPX and IMax theater. But I have seen IMAX in Southern California and in San Francisco Calf. I am head to tell you Regal IMax can’t even begin to compete with these other IMax theater screen. The others are literally gigantic screen much much bigger than than any regal IMax I have seen at a regal

All I can say I was sold when I heard all the sound is JBL.

Watch John Wick 4 at an RPX. Wasn’t impressed. It was watchable but didn’t make the movie experience any better like IMAX tends to do.

I think there should only be IMAX every thing else is less then especially sound I'm just saying I bet the sound in RPX is low we use to have a regal close to where I live and I always had to ask them to turn it up and then it still was not that good

Sean Fanelli I tried RPX for Mission Impossible Fallout(With my dad) John Wick Chapter 3 Parabellum(With my dad and uncle) Godzilla King Of The Monsters(With my dad and lil sis)(LOUD AF) Toy Story 4(With my mom, 5y sis, and 1y sis) Hobbs & Shaw(With my mom) I may try RPX for Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker with my mom, step dad, and step sister(Might go to IMAX, XD, or Silverspot)

It literally was like a couple bucks extra it’s not bad lol

Aren’t basically all movies filmed at 24fps anyways lol

no. most movies are filmed at around 60 fps or more these days. it's in post production that the video is slowed down to 24 fps

Movie University You mean “MSG”, the one we have here in our area use to be a Krikorian Theater and now it’s very bad. Seats are not as good as AMC or Cinépolis. There is nothing special about this theater. It’s just a regular movie theater with no IMAX, Dolby, Rpx, or Xtreme Digital. It’s just a plain theater with regular screens and very bad seats.
