Came here from your Instagram; this is very useful. Thanks for uploading. Genuinely it feels like nowadays every brand is just charging luxury brand prices without having the quality, or previously dependable luxury brands are going down in quality. Maybe it’s because the recession, but it’s very unfortunate.

I'm having the same annoying experience with some of their pieces being too big despite ordering based on their size chart. I wish their website featured customer reviews in the product listings. Adding to that I had to consign one of their jumpsuits (really only reformation I ever owned) bc the legs were a nice length for a tall lady like me but the rise was too short which made no sense to me. If making this for taller ppl make the torso longer too lol

I just went to the Reformation store in London and was shocked at the quality. They are basically using premium fabrics but fast-fashion stitching. As a person who has been in fashion production industry, I would not buy their stuff at the price they are selling.

I was considering the Giorgia brocade top, in that same color, and have a similar build to you, and it was really helpful to know about the gapping in the chest area. You saved me money! The Cristina top, on the other hand, had a stunning fit and I might actually get that one.

I occasionally have issues where I change the size of items and find I do not fit in either size or the proportions aren't the same as before... or have still way too much or little chest space for example.

I’m definitely noticing a trend with reformation hauls and my own experience. I’ve been shopping at Reformation since 2018. I think they do an amazing job at marketing, styling their clothing on their beautiful models, and having gorgeous photography. The reality though is that a lot of their clothing does not fit well. I have a local store that I frequent on a monthly basis. I’m up to buy more there, but I rarely get anything now because the fit is rarely right and even when something does end up fitting, I struggle to justify the price with the quality. Some of their stretchy items are so thin , it feels like Amazon quality. I think the linen and silk prices are fair, but a lot of the linen items do not fit right. I’m 5’8,slight hourglass shape, and size 2 for reference. All in all, I’m starting to conclude that the people that are up to spend higher prices for their clothes can’t even do it because the clothes don’t fit right most of the time.

I want to thank you for really explaining about fabrics and how things are put together. It has helped me tremendously in deciding what to buy and what to purge out of my closet. I always assumed synthetic materials were more affordable because of the source, not because they are simply bad. I have been reading up on how polyester, polyamide etc., gets absorbed by the skin and are carcinogenic. On top of that...all the pollution--not just in production, but ever time they are washed! I have a very limited budget but will seek out only natural materials from now on. Thank you again! I am learning so much!

hi! studied apparel sustainability in school so wanted to give my input - the brands you mentioned are definitely fast fashion. they’re maybe not as “bad” as shein, but h&m especially has had a long history of dangerous labor practices (supposedly they’ve improved them). an easy trick I use to identifying if a brand is fast fashion is to see what their product turnover is - if they’re constantly putting out new collections and products, if they’re always running sales to try to get rid of product etc

The styling is, to put it mildly, quite different from Reformation, but drive-by recomendations: 1. Ureshii Design. It's a two-person company making sustainable clothing to measure out in Canada. I've owned like 10 of their garments for... gosh, 8 years now??? and in all that time, exactly one stitch has ever gone partly undone. 2. American Giant, if you're a hoodie person or a legging person. I've owned their ponte leggings for about 5-6 years and I wear them *constantly*, and it's only just now starting to pill a little in the groin. Their hoodies are so heavy-duty, at least as of 6 years ago, that I'm fully convinced I'm going to have mine for life.

In person, most of their clothes look very cheap and the fibres are synthetic. I only buy their denim and it has to be on sale.

If it’s made in China it’s not very sustainable and that’s what drives me nuts about this brand :(

I can barely hear you and I’m using a super-max volume speaker, please get a microphone! I like Reformation except that all their tops and dresses are too low-cut, tight and sexy. I often buy silk skirts there.

Reformation is the worst. Coming from South Asia I have seen similar or superior quality clothes on the streets for fraction of the price. I was appalled the first time I ordered it from Nordstrom years ago . That was the last time . Most clothes I ordered was obviously returned back 😂

yeah nah fast fashion isn’t the “only option” for the overwhelming majority of people in the western world. most fast fashion buyers could buy waaayyy less if they wanted to and spend that money on sustainable clothes or thrift items. they choose not to.
