Nice video! I bought a place less than six months ago in San José in a really trendy area, I have it 100% managed, and am literally just collecting a check every month. I love it! Usually between 95 and 100% occupancy at least right now, we will see what happens in the slow season. I may fill it with long-term tenants..

Do you use a company to manage it for you?

Our short term rental over the last five years was very much the same. Many people look at it like AirBNBers are millionaires because they own a rental property or several. What they don't understand is that it's a constant case of repairing what renters break, things beyond the control of the property owner, paying managers to take care of all the issues, etc. We have shut down our listing as we have retired and moved here permanently, but it's not a make a ton of money proposition like so many think. Nobody takes care of your property like you do!

This has been very informative, thanks! How big is your water tank? I had heard about these water issues from realtors, which freaked us out a bit.

Thanks for watching and for your comment. I don't remember exactly but it's enough water for 1.5 days of light usage, without doing laundry. I have limited space in this house but would go much larger if I ever buy another house.
