Better to Join NPTEL Course once your First Year completes.

Yes, you will get your Degree Unless your University has made it compulsory to Pass NPTEL Course.

Sir my daughter is doing her Btech CSE at Amrita University Coimbatore. Going to 2nd year now. Recently IIT Madras introduced online BSc course in programming & Data Science. Will that be useful for a CSE student? or to do online cretificate courses in NPTEL? Can u pl suggest

Ok, My suggestion for your Daughter is to go for an NPTEL Course as it is also from IITs. The Good thing for NPTEL course is its Online mode of Lectures and it's wide acceptance across the Nation.

May be it will be useful but the value of NPTEL Certificate mostly depends on the university which will accept it.

Your Videos on NPTEL courses are very helpful. I work in one of the big Four companies and i acknowledge that you point 3 - Employees is very valid I myself have registered for a course to upskill and to keep myself valid in the industry
