I was born and raised in west Auckland. It is all a matter of perspective. As a boy everything was great, innocent and exciting. As I grew older the rot was clearer to see.

I am a born and bred 'Westie'. and Henderson was my neighbourhood, you walked past many of my places of work or favourite places. Corbans used to be a vineyard/winery and the Corban family were among the earliest settlers of Henderson, they are well known. West Aucklander's are the most down to earth and friendly people you could meet. Enjoy

I grew up in West Auckland, I would move back in a heartbeat. Henderson main road back in the day was the place to be seen. Still an awesome place to be with a wild reputation.

Hey Curls I was raised in Te Atatu my parents had a shop in Henderson, I worked in the first Kmart there before heading to Convict land.if you go to TeAtatu my old man and his mates built the TeAtatu Rugby league club, next to the north western motorway.Cheers from Brisbane DA.

I used to live in Titirangi and when I first moved there I didn't have a car and members of the Head Hunters MC gave me a lift up to the shops. Being into motorsport, I fitted right in. West Aucks. 👍

Corban center is a gymnasium and leisure Centre. I used to play basketball there.

You should definitely check out Massey some time it's quite similar to Henderson and I think you'd love it.

I live out these ways my whole life(and still do). Hendo mall can be hood as when its packed compared to other malls in Auckland😂

You should visit Daiso. One on Queen Street and the other one at Westfield St Luke.

Corbans is a winery - one of the original (white) settlers in the area Best art out there, check out the statue by the roundabout beside Westwave Also theres nowhere in South Auck with the number and variety of shops as Henderson, closest prob Papakura

I’ve only been down to Henderson once in 2015. The people there are friendly. Had more clashes with people where I live compared to the westies.

I wouldn't say henderson is they new south auckland, sure its a little sketchy at times but I see way more sketchy things in south auckland like Otara or Manurewa. I would say the most sketchy place in auckland would be the CBD itself. If you wana explore more sketchy places in west maybe look at massey i know there is some gang stuff there and few years ago i think a cop was killed there.

Henderson has improved the west city mall and public transport (rail -link) connecting West Auckland to Auckland Central. It's still a dodgy place though haha.

The "av" in Avondale is pronounced in the same way that you would say "have". Just drop the "h"
