    Great work! This confirms what I have started to suspect that Taylormade is making the "flagship" model driver somewhat "semi-draw" biased since the Sim2Max. I always wondered why they felt the need to place the weight in the front towards the heel starting with Sim2Max instead of dead center for neutral?

    TSR3 is a fast driver for sure. Speaking of Titleist, any iron better than the T150 low on the face but can still keep spin up ?

    Interesting. I've been using an SLDR 9° with a Fujikura stiff 56 gram shaft. A friend was "upgrading" and gave it to me. On a good day, my clubhead speed is 108 mph and I carry it ~280-285. R local indoor sim shop had Titleist in for driver fittings. I went and purposely didn't tell the rep what I had only that I'd used a Titleist driver in the past. By the end of the session, the driver he assembled for me was nearly identical. Same loft, same shaft weight, and same performance numbers. I felt quite vindicated in hanging onto my SLDR. When I told him what I was using, he said it was a unicorn and should play it as long as possible.

    SLDR is very long due to the CG location creating high ball speed and v low spin. As long as your miss is not high and out of the toe side you’ll never beat it for distance

    Fascinating explanation of the dispersion and standard deviation issues that can be created by a lot of weight in back to get launch up separated from the front by an increased zone of light weight material. It’s plain physics, but I don’t recall ANY other fitter I watch mentioning it. Yet it could be a critical factor in fitting, especially for the better player. Your reminder that the maximum coefficient of restitution COR for the driver face was set way back in 1998 at 0.830 was also helpful and honest. Your explanation and objective advice can help players save money which is also admirable. A little money and practice spent on lessons to increase strikes in the sweet spot can improve one’s scores more than shelling out top dollar for the latest new equipment.

    Hi, can you produce numbers for what a) spin rate and b) launch angle is optimal for maximum carry for ball speeds of 85, 95 and 105 mph for driver? Slower ball speeds generally need more spin and higher launch angle.

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    How does purchasing clubs with PG differ than online..? Does the fact you build them in house, assumedly with shafts & heads that you can order “in bulk” make it cheaper for the customer? I’m looking forward to booking a full bag fit very soon!!

  • @Precision_Golf

    Hi Andrew. Fit and build quality are like ying and yang. Our build is superior in quality, tolerance and EXACTLY inline with our fitters recommendations. The reason we can achieve such precision is everything is built on site on equipment calibrated with the fitting bays. We charge a premium for our equipment and with that comes our guarantee of performance. We are far less expensive than buying twice!

    Where you have the led tape at on the driver could have something to do with it going left.

  • @Precision_Golf

    No, that little lead tape is only mass rather than creating a bias. With heads at nearly 200g you have to move at least 10g to create any shot bias

    I played the Sim2 Max before switching to the Ping G430 this past year. I tried out the Stealth and the Qi10, and neither were an improvement over the Sim2. I feel like the carbon face technology was good in theory, but really flopped when put in to production and into the hands of us mortals. I do see a performance upgrade with the G430, however. I did some trading/swapping from the LST into the Max 10k, and they are nearly identical. I just very narrowly settled on the 10k, but the difference was minimal.

    The point was that just buying the new version of an “old” club does not always produce a good result as the heads change a lot. Whether it is an M4 or Sim2 Max the same principles apply.

    You said the new models are more forgiving and you didn't even test that. For high, mid and even low handy cappers forgiveness and dispersion are what people are looking for even more than a few yards distance. All modern golf clubs perform outstanding with center hits, but we aren't all scratch golfers. How do they perform on off center hits?

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    We wanted to keep this video a little shorter but will be publishing something on this soon. Ultimately the best head for you manages the miss hits (and the location of your miss hits ie high toe or low heel etc) best, minimising losses and flight compromises. This video was mainly to highlight not just buying the next generation of a head just because that brand has worked in the past as it might not work for you as well

    What will you be comparing the QI10 with in 5 years. You still hit the M4 well. Why switch? The only advantage us golfers can do to increase speed is train for speed, and work on our swing mechanics. Buy a new driver, only if you break the old one.

    @@Precision_Golf that is a good reason. Titleist makes a great product. I found a 910D2 and was amazed how accurate and far I was with a 2010 club. I’m hitting a SIm2 now, broke a Stealth, so I will not be going back to Taylormade for my new driver in a few years

    What’s the point of the lead tape? Doesn’t that defeats the purpose of the test? Sorry, novice here. Just feels like that’s kind of the point of 7 years of technology progression that they’ve changed the weights for a reason, and particularly repositioning the weight it has. If adjusting the swing weight should then you change the shaft and not the head weight? I’m sure I’m 100% wrong. Thanks for the video.

  • @Precision_Golf

    @Precision_Golf

    Ай бұрын

    The lead tape is a fine tune in swingweight and serves no other purpose as it is not enough weight to materially affect CG. Both the shaft balance point and head weight are key factors to dial in the club set up and influence swingweight however you need both to be right to make the club perform as consistently as possible. The 7 years of tech progression has moved a lot of weight around the head and improved the performance off-centre but any lead tape adjustment (unless you add 10g or so which is a huge amount to add) is just for swingweight and timing.
