Now I hear her speaking and read you’re comment and I shouldn’t be laughing but honestly he just said well isn’t it something you supposed to do is take care of us??👀👀like really she isn’t obligated to do anything she chose to take them in and lost her daughter, broke and having to deal with kids traumatized they all grieving and hurting but this comment was kinda funny. People keep commenting on the grandmother's grieving, but did they miss the part where he says his aunts understand him because they lived through it , too. This behavior wasn't because of grieving, it's her normal parenting style. Everything is about her.

She said she is broke. This is the therapy he asked to be taken here she came! She didn’t have to come here and she didn’t have to take her grandkids on. She did. I disagree with these two comments. I think it is very difficult to grieve when you have a 3 week old and a 6 year old to look after. She clearly isn’t perfect and it is not ideal for the kid but WAY BETTER than foster care would be. At least he is with family. He is hurt cause he has no parents but that is not an excuse to take it out on the one person who is doing her best.

Agree he is trying to paint his grandma out to be the bad person . He she lost her daughter so she is hurting too he is only thinking about his own feelings . Everything was what he wants her to do but never what he can do for her . Yes, he should give her money , ti help for bills etc . I use to get money from my son when he got old enough to move I saved all that he gave me and gave it all back so he can get in his own when he was ready . She can show him how to invest or have a professional help so he doesn’t blow all his money and have nothing to show . The time is now , I believe his Grandma is truly there for him . Just because she the strongest in the family it don’t mean she doesn’t hurt too is what he fails to realize. I wish them both the best I think they will be fine.

He wouldn't have any of it if she didn't fight for it. He talked about what he lost as if grandma didn't lose her child. If grandma is unavailable emotionally, it's because while raising him and his sister, she haven't had the time to grieve the loss of her own child. That woman is hurting, and all some of you people can do it talk about her being unavailable.

The irony is that they are both grieving in their own ways. He’s gone numb as a measure of self preservation and she’s still at the anger stage of the grieving process. She’s externalized some of her anger towards the situation and her grandson has been the target of convenience. It took her seeing herself to finally take ownership of her misdirected anger. I’m glad Kuramo let them talk because he will put words in people’s mouth sometimes.

That lady is definitely toxic. As soon as that boy said “I was getting bullied at school & had to come home & hear it from you,” she immediately made it about herself. All these tears & foolishness are performative. I feel for him & I hope they’re both able to heal. Also, if she knew she wanted some of the money from the settlement, she, as the adult who fought for it in the first place, could’ve made it clear that some of the money would be for her when the kids get access to it. Not a huge sum, but enough to help her with some things, yknow? Why argue with this 18 yr old kid when you could’ve set the expectation years ago??? I don’t like that lady. Not at all.

She was not forced to take accountability and at the end of the day when you decide to parent someone you need to get over yourself. It’s not your children’s/grandchildren’s job to heal you. Grow up and be the adult and take care of the children entrusted to you. Even if you take her side, his behavior is a reflection of her upbringing. People want to treat children unlovingly and then want to throw a pity party when they get the same treatment back.

Yes she may have not have been as supportive as her grandson expected her to be for a variety of reasons one reason is she's had to put on a hard front to deal with it all and toughen up her grandkids as well so none of them fall victim and weaken to a grief that's so strong at any time could knock them over where they can't come back from the fall

If the relationship was always the same, how do you surmise that it's about the money. For taking care of him and his sister for the past ten years, he should have given her something. She fought for it, and she deserved something. It was his mother, but it was her child. He feels entitled and he is selfish as fk. Because he doesn't understand the pain she's been going through. He thinks everything should be about him. He had to be told to hug his grandmother. That was sad.

WOAHHH THIS LITERALLY SCREAMS MY ENTIRE LIFE. I’ve literally gone through the exact same situation. Both my parents are still alive but were not active in my childhood. My grandmother has raised me so I understand where he’s coming from, I felt alone my entire life. When the circumstances are like that, we as the children do need emotional support. We didn’t ask to be here, we are not the reason for your pain! I’m 21, and I do wish I would’ve found a solution much younger before it affected me mentally. Props to this young man, I hope they’re able to build their relationship more and become supportive of each other.

I understand how he feels. My mom and my sisters moved from my granny house and I asked to stay. They were moving to a neighborhood where the kids did not like me. Believe it or not they resented me because I was smart excelling at most subjects plus I won a lot of chorale awards. My granddad said she’s staying here with us. My grandma, I quickly found out, didn’t want me to stay. I think she felt like she’d finally have kids out the house. She quickly changed her mind because I became her travel companion.

He says she couldn't get money in her daughter's death but if she didn't pursue it he wouldn't have it either. He didn't go to foster care, group homes yet he doesn't feel like she deserves any money? Many are saying it's the money for her yet it seems it's like it's the money for him. Why not want to give her some money to show appreciation that she took him in and she was grieving and still grieving

I feel like he’s expecting her to be his mother when she’s not. Yes she’s his grandmother but she’s also grieving the loss of her own child. As far as the money goes, he should give her a little bit because she did raise him, instead of sending him to the system and her fight is what got the money. It’s not easy to take on the medical system when it comes to a wrongful death.

I believe that she genuinely loves her grandson. I believe that she went through a difficult time just as he has and didn’t have any support in that time and she has a lot of bottled up pent up emotions that she needs to release and receive healing. We always believe that the parents or grandparents are superheroes and don’t have emotions or don’t need as much love as we do, I’ve seen all my life where families naturally depend on the grandparents especially to be strong and carry whole families but they need support and have feelings just like everyone else. My nana was the person who kept my whole family coming together and now that she’s passed we’re strangers so I know the weight that grandparents carry. Being hurt does not excuse hurting other people but it sounds like she said some things in anger which is never fruitful but I believe she’s genuine and she showed up so that alone says a lot. She didn’t come out defensive but humbled herself and was willing to hear him out and not make excuses. Praying for her and grandson ❤
