People keep commenting on the grandmother's grieving, but did they miss the part where he says his aunts understand him because they lived through it , too. This behavior wasn't because of grieving, it's her normal parenting style. Everything is about her.

She said she is broke. This is the therapy he asked to be taken here she came! She didn’t have to come here and she didn’t have to take her grandkids on. She did. I disagree with these two comments. I think it is very difficult to grieve when you have a 3 week old and a 6 year old to look after. She clearly isn’t perfect and it is not ideal for the kid but WAY BETTER than foster care would be. At least he is with family. He is hurt cause he has no parents but that is not an excuse to take it out on the one person who is doing her best.

Agree he is trying to paint his grandma out to be the bad person . He she lost her daughter so she is hurting too he is only thinking about his own feelings . Everything was what he wants her to do but never what he can do for her . Yes, he should give her money , ti help for bills etc . I use to get money from my son when he got old enough to move I saved all that he gave me and gave it all back so he can get in his own when he was ready . She can show him how to invest or have a professional help so he doesn’t blow all his money and have nothing to show . The time is now , I believe his Grandma is truly there for him . Just because she the strongest in the family it don’t mean she doesn’t hurt too is what he fails to realize. I wish them both the best I think they will be fine.
This lady is showing something different than what the boy sees at home.

Yeah, I think this actually hurt more than it helped. It could actually make him less trusting and less likely to reach out for help. She was not forced to take accountability and at the end of the day when you decide to parent someone you need to get over yourself. It’s not your children’s/grandchildren’s job to heal you. Grow up and be the adult and take care of the children entrusted to you. Even if you take her side, his behavior is a reflection of her upbringing. People want to treat children unlovingly and then want to throw a pity party when they get the same treatment back.

I agree. I may be bias because I am a parent who has lost a child but it truly feels that we cannot grieve because we have to take care of ppl while we are broken. We are broken but it feels it doesn't because we have responsibilities and those responsibilities supersede your feelings of despair, the calls and the help die down and you are stuck essentially isolated. You have to give out of yourself something that you essentially don't have.It is a hard fight that you have to conscioulsy to take care of someone when you may not even want to live. The only thing we as people can do is try our hardest and communicate how we feel.

This is a heartbreaking story. I hope Keonie and Sharon both find peace with each other after losing the person connected to their lives. It's not about money, it's not about best interests. The two are grieving for the loss they suffered and I hope Sharon finds a way to not take it out on Keonie, but love him the best way she can.
he has lost his mum and she has lost her daughter its, so sad for both of them, they need to come together and try to respect one and other other and move on with each other, life is so short think the granma not accepting his sexuality but are you prepared for iif he moves away, just give him the biggest hug you can granma xx
The body language speaks for itself, while the grandson was pouring his heart out to his grandmother, notices her body language, I really hope they come together, they're both grieving, this is true, one lost a child and one lost a mother. This was the comment that I was waiting for. She 100% did not have to take them in. She chose to out of love. She had to sacrifice her life for years. People act like this is an automatic decision. Why couldn’t his younger aunts raise them? Since they seem to be so involved, but they couldn’t raise them??? I would be angry and bitter too, and I do feel she deserves some of that money. If for nothing else just to say, thank you for being there when you did not have to be.
The grandmother has been through a lot and although I'm not a grandmother I truly understand what she is feeling. It feels like maybe people have overlooked her feelings and treated her like she should suppress it all and take on the responsibility because it existed. She probably haven't grieved properly for her own daughter because she was required to be strong for her grandchildren. 💔
She’s abrasive. Hurt. Alone. He’s hurt and yearning for a mother figure. They both need counseling
I cried this entire episode. Kiani as you grow you will understand the love and strength of your beautiful grandmother. She did what most mothers do they fight to keep her legacy alive. She lost a part of that in your mother You three have the world Cherish and honor your Grandma. You better bless her financially too from your heart
She wants emotional comfort from a child and she tries to one up him in regards of his pain. I’m not down playing hers but she had more time with her daughter than he had with his mom. They both are hurting but she gives off bully vibes because of her position in his life. I hope he can get counseling for his abuse and trauma. I hope he finds mental/spiritual peace. He really seems like a gentle person who doesn’t require this kind of harshness.

I would have rather been on the damn streets. Smh YES AT SIX! I hattteeeeee people like this! Elders will freely treat you like shit and expect you to be “okay” like them. She IS NOT okay and wasn’t in a state to raise him at all.
Yes she may have not have been as supportive as her grandson expected her to be for a variety of reasons one reason is she's had to put on a hard front to deal with it all and toughen up her grandkids as well so none of them fall victim and weaken to a grief that's so strong at any time could knock them over where they can't come back from the fall
I'm a grandma and if I lost my child. I would never look at taking my Grand children in as a favor. As what am I getting out of taking care of my grand children. This is very sad....

If the relationship was always the same, how do you surmise that it's about the money. For taking care of him and his sister for the past ten years, he should have given her something. She fought for it, and she deserved something. It was his mother, but it was her child. He feels entitled and he is selfish as fk. Because he doesn't understand the pain she's been going through. He thinks everything should be about him. He had to be told to hug his grandmother. That was sad.

WOAHHH THIS LITERALLY SCREAMS MY ENTIRE LIFE. I’ve literally gone through the exact same situation. Both my parents are still alive but were not active in my childhood. My grandmother has raised me so I understand where he’s coming from, I felt alone my entire life. When the circumstances are like that, we as the children do need emotional support. We didn’t ask to be here, we are not the reason for your pain! I’m 21, and I do wish I would’ve found a solution much younger before it affected me mentally. Props to this young man, I hope they’re able to build their relationship more and become supportive of each other.
She's manipulative and he's detached from her to much damage he couldn't even hug her while she fake cry im sure she made her daughter feel the same way...I feel him being around and his sister it reminds her of the pain of losing her daughter
I understand how he feels. My mom and my sisters moved from my granny house and I asked to stay. They were moving to a neighborhood where the kids did not like me. Believe it or not they resented me because I was smart excelling at most subjects plus I won a lot of chorale awards. My granddad said she’s staying here with us. My grandma, I quickly found out, didn’t want me to stay. I think she felt like she’d finally have kids out the house. She quickly changed her mind because I became her travel companion.
I’m not sure if one sit down will fix it all but this is a great video to bring awareness of toxic family members
To me it seems like how grandma acts at home is totally different, I believe grandma might really be what he says she's being, but she brought the broken side of her out on stage, and not acknowledging how she treats him, he feels is mean she flipped the script on him
He says she couldn't get money in her daughter's death but if she didn't pursue it he wouldn't have it either. He didn't go to foster care, group homes yet he doesn't feel like she deserves any money? Many are saying it's the money for her yet it seems it's like it's the money for him. Why not want to give her some money to show appreciation that she took him in and she was grieving and still grieving
I feel bad for the both of them and I also believe she do deserves some money. She took them in and fought for that money.

I feel like he’s expecting her to be his mother when she’s not. Yes she’s his grandmother but she’s also grieving the loss of her own child. As far as the money goes, he should give her a little bit because she did raise him, instead of sending him to the system and her fight is what got the money. It’s not easy to take on the medical system when it comes to a wrongful death.

Grandmothers can do so much and no more they can’t be Mothers and Fathers, this grandmother went through a lot too she cant be everything to everyone and so is her grandson, hope they can heal from this in due time.
I believe that she genuinely loves her grandson. I believe that she went through a difficult time just as he has and didn’t have any support in that time and she has a lot of bottled up pent up emotions that she needs to release and receive healing. We always believe that the parents or grandparents are superheroes and don’t have emotions or don’t need as much love as we do, I’ve seen all my life where families naturally depend on the grandparents especially to be strong and carry whole families but they need support and have feelings just like everyone else. My nana was the person who kept my whole family coming together and now that she’s passed we’re strangers so I know the weight that grandparents carry. Being hurt does not excuse hurting other people but it sounds like she said some things in anger which is never fruitful but I believe she’s genuine and she showed up so that alone says a lot. She didn’t come out defensive but humbled herself and was willing to hear him out and not make excuses. Praying for her and grandson ❤
