Make the front grill black

You can just push the start/stop buttom without the brake to make adjustments, and then turn the car on, cheers mate!

But the valves will stay open for a good ~5 seconds after startup until there's enough vacuum built up to pull the valves closed. (I have loud exhaust on my gen2 R8 and my neighbors probably hate my cold start for this reason)

It's burning more fuel because it's spitting much more unburned petrol on to the manifold because it getting much more pops and cracks.

Hate to be a hippy, especially when that fuel is used to make that glorious sound but at the end of the day it is extremely wasteful and it's slowly killing off the internal combustion engine

i believe the noise limit within the UK for cars is 74dB where as motorbikes have a maximum limit of 80dB within the UK

Great vid Archie! with your racing experience i think you should do some more track based videos, Maybe tutorials, lessons, track review etc. Would separate you from the other car guys. Just a thought.

I think it just needs Audi badges dechromed along with the R8 and V10 badges. Also I though the X motor support strut (ontop of the engine) would look different from other R8s and would really cool if it had a colour wrap that matches the blue exterior rather than the plain black one. What do you think Archie?

Not sure which cell phone you have, but for my iPhone I was able to install a free app to measure sound decibels. Possibly you could do this and measure the exhaust sound from the both the exterior and interior of the R8 at the car's various settings. This would of been great if you had done this before with the original exhaust as a comparison.

Hey Archie, does the r8 go back into Sport if you arent constantly shifting in manual mode? On the new s4 it tends to go back into S if you dont shift

You should wrap the part of the car where the sideblade is so it matches and looks like the old R8 where it is one continuous piece.

I haven't been a fan of yours in the past but I must say your R8 sounds incredible man!

Did you do an ECU tune as well? How would simply an exhaust improve your 2-3 shift time as you said somewhat early in the @4:20?

How did you get your number plate on there so quickly the process for me was weeks!

I think the rear lights would look great slightly smoked/darker to try and tie them in with the large grill below.

the fuel bill is higher because every crackle is caused by unburned fuel in the exaust. With a stock exhaust it doesn't crackle that much and less fuel is being used. Hope this gives you a good explanation and sorry for bad english.

How can an exhaust make a gearbox shift faster? Maybe because it's louder, you're getting the impression its shifting faster, but I fathom to understand the link between the gearbox brain make the shift faster and the new exhaust.

I installed the German made HMS exhaust on my Plus and it’s the best of both worlds. Has a Tesla’esq silent mode and a loud as F#@! Performance Mode. But no matter what, cold start is LOUD. Videos can’t do it justice. If you have the windows open or the door cracked and you cold start it, it hurts the ears it’s so loud. My neighbors must hate me in the mornings when I leave for work. Last night I was driving home and got stopped under an overpass waiting for a light. I was behind a Maserati Gran Turismo with aftermarket exhaust and I pulled up behind him in quiet mode. He started revving the Turismo, which sounded awesome, so I hit the P button and obliged with a rev of my own…damn! I thought the overpass above was going to fall apart from the sound, like the trumpets at Jericho… Turismo stopped revving after that..haha.

Scaredy Bear it depends. If the car has a problem, and the modified part is a part of the problem, then yes, warranty is voided. But, if you look up Street Speed 717, he made a vid where his highly modified Z06 was taken to a dealership and fixed under warranty, because the problem was not with the modified engine.

You should wrap all the black and carbon bits in the body colour - spoiler, diffuser, splitter etc.

Everytime you start it, it will put the exhaust in comfort mode. Even though you start up in Dynamic/Individual. So you always have to either press the exhaust button or switch drive mode at least once to get the Sport exhaust back :-)

joseph mourad each to their own, but I would always opt for black over chrome or silver especially on saloon cars around the window frames, I think the silver, chrome is just way outdated....that said, it will prob be bacm in fashion in a couple of years like highly polished chrome wheels as apposed to the trending black wheels which I never liked at first but has grown on me.

You can drop your car/airSuspension and maybe set the camber that the wheel is a bit out of the body. Archie i found all of your videos just great i think your in awesome man.

Decat is fine on certain cars. Some have legal requirements but those are mostly diesel
