I know. Umar bin AbdelAziz RH said music is an innovation and wanted to punish a man for permitting it; and also said on a different occasion how many of the learned scholars he knew stated that music develops hypocrisy in the heart.

You can’t just want music to be halal and then follow your own desires, and try to justify it by your own means. Fatwa shopping ain’t a thing, the majority of scholars agree music is haram, don’t be of those who promote innovation. What will be next? Dating is permissible? Abu Hasan Ali Nadwi mentions in Tarikh ad-dawat wal-Azimat that before Umar ibn Abdulaziz became Khalifah, he wasn't known for any piety or such. Rather, given that he was from a rich family and he was also of royal descent, he had the same habits that a rich and royal prince would have (spending excessively, etc.)

Poor guy, he fell for the oldest trick in the book. Looking for something regardless if its bad or good will give you results that closely stand with your position, so looking for the permissiblity music (especially on google) gave him results that admit the permissiblity of it. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: You would tread the same path as was trodden by those before you inch by inch and step by step so much so that if they had entered into the hole of the lizard, you would follow them in this also. We said: Allah's Messenger, do you mean Jews and Christians (by your words)" those before you"? He said: Who else (than those two religious groups)? Look at the masses and tell me with a straight face that music isn’t morally corrupting the youth…

The Duff is the only halal instrument from what I know. HOWEVER, it is only allowed in weddings. Using it anywhere else is haram. As for other instruments, they are haram according to more than 90% of Scholars. This is what I know from my humble knowledge.

It’s silly how some of the extreme Sufis will slam the ahlul hadith day and night for being “wahhaabis” (using a name of Allaah تبارك وتعالى as an insult) and say that they go against the 4 imams. And yes they may have certain mistakes. But then some of them they will go and do the same thing for music

I wish that you answered the stronger arguments such as those by Ibn Hazm and Al-Ghazali (ra) who used to say “music is like speech, the good of it is permitted and the bad of it isn’t” or the scholarly opinions on what point music is halal or haram for example if it is the background music of a video where the main focus is not on the music itself but rather the speakers voice or a visual transition etc. Or the scholars who believed it is haram but allowed drums in war similar to how dying hair black is haram but they allow it in war.

The point for ibn hazm or ghazali would be similar to what I mentioned about Abu talib al makki: All of these scholars have many strange opinions that many reject. Ibn hazm is known for his unacceptable opinions. So these people that rely upon ibn hazm or ghazali, why dont they follow everything they say? They don't, because in reality they are not following scholars. they are following their desires.

Well I don’t agree with that guy’s opinion on music (all music is haram ofc) I do agree on his opinion of women. There is a reason why there will be far more women in hell than men and why we are told to avoid women and avoid all fitnah. They are fitnah and he is absolutely right on that part. Women other than our mothers are all dangerous to us and they are nothing without a man. They are very likely going to Jahanam without a pious man on their side.

The source he quotes does not include a chain of narration so we don't know if this is true or not, or if it's weak or sahih. But, even if we say it's true, it could be that he adopted some families or women from the prisoners of war, and they happened to be singers or dancers. When muslims would conquer a new land, the muslim families would adopt the displaced families, men, women, and children. They would give them a home, feed them, clothe them, teach them etc. These displaced people had all sorts of backgrounds, some of them may have been singers, some dancers, some may have sold alcohol, etc. But the muslims would guide them and teach them that these things are incorrect. Or if these girls sang or danced at home, that would be fine just as a wife can dance for her husband, or daughters can sing for their father.

I see no one who's defend the permissibility of music is not fond of it himself. One only defends when he himself is involved in it. At this point I belief people's fitra itself should be telling them that music is haram. From Experience, Once i was just scrolling through YT shorts and i end up at a video (which I don't remember) but it was not something to be sad. So I watched it and i didn't realised there's was music in it because i was focused on the video and i watched like 3 times and suddenly my mood swings and i became sad for no reason. And even the video was not something to be sad about not even the lyrics but somehow my mood like crying. Then i thought what is it about music that made me sad for reason. So music just deludes you and take you away from reality whereas nothing changes in real life except your mood May Allah protect us from every fitna

Music is addictive. It can surface from your short term or even from your long term memory into your thoughts within split second and you tend to go along with it, disrupting whatever you are doing, even in your Salaah. The Mughal Empire fell mainly due music and other unislamic practices. Andalus fell to the non-Muslims on account of all the excesses being committed due to abundance of wealth. Degeneration commences with "simple innocent" music and makes its way into all spheres of your life. The Sufis' dances and performances are based on music. If there is no bass beat they become totally lost and can't perform. The Prophet (S.A.W.) was fully aware of human psychology and how the mind works. And that's why he told us to REFRAIN from music. The words of the Prophet should be treated as a COMMAND and our personal opinion has no relevance (Qur'an Surah Ahzaab). May Allah guide us to total SUBMISSION ti His Deen. Aameen

La ilah ila Allah, now we started having haram and Halal because the Aiaima decided so, then we blame the Christians for having their revelation temperd with. Its true that one cannot see his own fault if he is blind. busy pointing fingers at others without trying to see himself. Imagine if everything that was decided back in the Sahaba period is locked and considered a source of law instead of source of history. then that mean no one after them in all of the Islam timeline is not important, and non modern day scholars should try to disagree on matters that Allah left out in his book (the rule says if its not Haram then its Halal) and the Quran is the source of the law. May Allah guide us, look where our Umah is in right now, we are weak, and divided, ask yourselves why, and go back to the Quran and stray away from the qeal and qal "قيل والقال" isnt the book of Allah sufficient enough for us? or is that This or that who did this and narrated by that is more important? so we end up in shirk like the other people of the books before us.

Fitrah wise, i never liked club music, it's disgusting. But not all music is like that. In terms of addiction, music is no worst than eating, so if we would forbid it because of that, then let's us starve to death because some foods are bad and addictive... Nah, we have no right to forbid on our own. In fact it is haram to make haram like that, nothing righteouss about that... Those are transgressors, people who follow their own desires to micromanage other people. They are following their desires as much as people who look the opposite also are... @@blank0.01 The Qur'an does not mention music in general. It does mention hadiths of amusement. Which crazily enough you don't see how it refers to many of your ahadiths more than music... And many ahadiths you claim are authentic are amusement, slandering the prophets and making fun of them, Abu Hurairah is the perfect example... cursed be tbe fabricators, and i hope the scholars who claim that is authentic get a warning from above so perhaps they repent... The narration about Musa naked and the rock is disgustingly made... the worst part is that the liars put those words into the mouth of the Prophet upon whom be peace... Study this before worshiping the scholars and claiming they are all infallable or saints, they are not, some did excellent work, and some are the worst hypocrites on earth... they are not all the same... as the Qur'an mentions, the people of the book, aka scholars, are disbelievers or believers like any other community. Many of your favorite students of knowledge are kufar, and you didn't even notice. The forbid what God and his messenger made permissible and make permissivle what he forbade... That is a way of kufur. Kufur has nothing to do with disbelief in God or the last Day... Satan is a kaafir and yet he follows the laws of God overall and believes in him and the last day... Don't take my word, this is not a topic that can be talked generally, but just because you see a senior with beard and a white thobe it means nothing about his piety... just know that. And i know some sunnis are believers, but most are kaafirun by their actions, sadly for them... And when they receive warnings, they literally say the same the mushriks say in the Qur'an, it's amazing... They are ready to abandon the Qur'an if they can't shirk the ahadiths to it... Total kaafirun... but you don't see it that way. We just want the truth and to obey God and His Messenger by understanding what the messenger says in the Qur'an which comes from God, aka one message, one order, one will we must obey. As a Muslim who listens to music, while I am not happy with the restriction of music, if something is said to be haram in the Quran then I cannot deny that it is haram. So for this, I accept that the restriction of music is part of Islam.

This is a very good position. Its important that just because kf these seemingly "valid differences of opinion" (not valid actually in this case) should lead us to justify and legitimize ones own sins. The reason people clinge to this one topic of music is so much is because thry are desperate to justify themselves and feel at ease. However it is much better and sincere towards allah and his religion to admit one is sinning and yet accept that thjs is what the religion says.

@@ShrekGKSPrivacy Just make sure you do not object and scrutinize the *ruling* itself, i.e. that music is haraam. Allah says in Surah Baqarah - that you might hate something, but it is good for you, and you might love something, but it is bad for you, Allah knows and you do not know. You should stop music, its a terrible sin, its habitual - you don't tend to end up listening once and repenting. Rather, it's cyclic, you keep on playing and playing it. Know that Allah only prohibits what is bad for you and what will lead you to the Fire, and allows everything else. There are many alternatives to music. The matter of music is not light - some of the scholars said music causes hypocrisy to grow in the heart. The good feeling or emotions or whatever you feel when playing music will not help you in the coldness of the grave, or aid you when Allah questions you on Judgement Day. It will only make the situation worse. السلام عليكم.

Give proof he was a sufi Ibn Hazm was a follower of the dead Zhahiri school and came to that opinion based on Qiyas that since birds sing music is allowed, which once again can only be extrapolated to singing. Singing is not music he clearly defined music to be that which comes from an instrument Daff is an exception to the rule on celebrations outlined like Eid and Marriage

Quoted in a manuscript of the work al-Mas’ala at-Tabriziyya (manuscripts, Damascus, 1186 H): “labistu al-khiraqata mubarakata lish-Shaikh ‘Abdul Qadir wa bayni wa baynahu ‘than” “I wore the blessed Sufi cloak of ‘Abdul Qadir, there being between him and me two.” Ibn Taymiyya is quoted by Yusuf ibn ‘Abd al-Hadi, affirming his Sufi affiliation in more than one Sufi order: “Have worn the Sufi cloak [khirqata at-Tasawwuf] of a number of shaikhs belonging to various tariqas [min turuqi jama’atin min ash-shyukhi], among them the Shaikh ‘Abdul Qadir al-Jiliani, whose tariqa is the greatest of the well-known ones.” Further on he continues: “The greatest tariqa [ajallu-t-turuqi] is that of my master [sayyidi], ‘Abdul Qadir al-Jilani, May Allah have mercy on him.”

The Quran doesn't really talk about music, but our prophet (s.a.w) did. Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. Basically he (s.a.w.) said there will be people that will make sins halal for themselves, such as music.

Quoting so called tamiya from 700 hijrah is sanad and quoting abu talib al makki of 300 hijra is no sanad 😂😂😂😂 wahabi logic makes no sense.

Why is Ibn Taymiyya "Sheikhul Islam"? Why is his word the most important for this salafiyya brothers. He lived 700 after Hijra and claims some hadith as daif. I cannot understand. He is a Alim in some topics, bu tif you say "sheikhul islam" it means he know the whole islam.

Firstly please provide a source and a chain for the claim that abdullah ibn zubayr permitted maazif (musical instruments) mutlaqan (absolutely)? None of the places I checked gave a source!! Edit: I did tahqeeq (checking) and found that this statement is not found anywhere and is a weak inauthentic riwaya with no chain found. It is stated in the book لكتاب: نهاية المطلب في دراية المذهب Nihayat al-Matlab fi Dirayat al-Madhhab by the great shafii jurist imam al juwayni (teacher of imam al ghazali also) that لم نقف عليه يعني لم نجده (roughly saying that we did not find this). 2. Music is prohibited with a few exceptions by the ijma of the 4 madhabs and over 30 great ulema transmitted ijma on this and the early salaf did not disgaree on this prohibition. Including the sahaba like ibn abbas (ra) and ibn masud (ra). This is a liberal cope to now re-interpret the statements of Abu bakr (ra) to only be due to “superstition” and that we know better. So who are you to bring me quotes and evidneces from ibn hazm, al ghazali who didn’t even agree with your position, and al shawkaani (I think same thing as al ghazali) against the vast material against you?? 3. Also regarding the hadith in bujhari 5590, the objections are useless!! Firslty, it is not the only hadith and chain forbidding music. Secondly, the understanding that it is weak is weak and not sound as explained by ustadh abdurahman hassan in his long 3 hour discussion on music. But, the main purporter of this idea was ibn hazm who is weak in hadith and a zahiri in fiqh. He even made strange statements like al tirmidhi is majhool!! This is an invalid batil khilaaf where the other opinion is invalid to act upon or give fatwa. You quote abu fadl ibn tahir who also is a zahiri!! So brother, I advise you to do rujoo and take back your stance on this as you will be held accountable for this and this is spreading to other Muslims who do not know better. If you must promote and if you want, you can promote the mu’tamad shafii position which is that all music is haram except the duff and a few types of drums with conditions like a drum is of equal circumference on both ends and in the center, it is permissible whether one of its ends is open or not, but if the drum is wide on the ends and narrow in the middle, it is haram, whether one of the ends are open or not. But check with the shafii scholars for better details and not my word for it inshallah.

​@@stupidtag123 But here the guy says all musical instruments are haram , that's what my point is , today's western music Is completely haram , I 100% agree , but nasheeds or praises of Allah SWT , the Messenger, the great Sahabas & leaders of Islam ( until & unless they have lyrics which equate to shirk ) & even the songs of praises in a marriage aren't haram , like the guy in the video says , & I have also mentioned a hadith , where singing is encouraged by the Prophet for marriage ceremony , where the Prophet instructed Aisha R.A to send singing girls to a marriage of the Ansars because they liked singing in marriage , but here in this video says MUSIC ( not just instruments ) is 100% haram
