Why do we panic every single season? It gets old. We don’t try to unload the bag in the portal because Michigan believes in its players and their development. We’re fine.

Can't blame it on NIL. Dusty May works with the same restrictions and yet he is killing it in the portal. The entire football coaching staff should have so much momentum and recent on-field success to work with that recruiting and the portal should be so much better than it is.

May landed some nice players , but none I would do back flips over . Let’s get real . We landed starters at OLB and OG in the winter , everyone else is for depth this period

Michigan needs to find assistant coaches who don't drink and drive. Sad for shoelaces.

Suggs committed to LSU, so they didn’t get him! Also Amir Herring isn’t a LB, he’s an Offensive linemen. I hope Michigan is able to land Jaden Mangham, because the portal hasn’t been friendly to Michigan lately!

Definitely not failing in the portal as of late. And recruiting is to be somewhat expected when you lose the coaching staff to the NFL and Scruggs and Robinsons drinking issues. But they’ve actually come to life in a big way in the portal. Michigans defense is still going to be very good this year. But the recruiting is a struggle at the moment because of the immediate NIL packages. They have NIL but they do no pay for play for state and school reasons like an Ohio State or Alabama. Also Michigans AD Warde Manuel is a very stubborn man lol If Michigan payed straight up for players to come there they wouldn’t be constantly losing recruiting battles for big players in their own state. Unfortunately the U of M has limitations on NIL. Harbaugh fought hard with it with Manuel before he left and now Moore is doing the same thing.

Lots of drama around the program with signs, Harbaugh halfway out the door for several years, then leaves and takes half the staff…slowly. (Get that he earned the right, but still), then staff members added and flaked out due to poor decisions, late to NIL, high academic standards, etc. etc. It”s been a great journey. No need to panic, but at the same time recruiting and portal has to improve. These past few years were unique. Can.t be way behind perpetually. Michigan should NEVER be out of too ten for recruiting. Time to grind away to level up recruiting to meet standards of rest of program.

the vast majority of the meaningful transfers through the portal ALL left programs where the head coach that recruited them was dismissed; their motivations weren't necessarily as mercenary as the typical player in the portal who is either looking for playing time to boost their chances of getting drafted, or they know that they're done, so they're hoping to maximize their earning potential - which means michigan will be at a disadvantage pursuing these players. the players they *did* convince to transfer to ann arbor were probably not going to be in the portal if their coach weren't leaving - the level of loyalty suggests a level of character that would make them culture fits - which is a factor that most people overlook even though culture fit is a higher priority than skill set.

Michigan has lost a ton of recruiting battles in the past year. For a team that has been in the playoffs the past three years they have been unusually unsuccessful in recruiting. Something isn’t working in what they are doing. They seem to be resting on their past laurels.

We have 3 1st rounders at least starting on defense. Sherrone Moore is a wizard with the Oline and we have the Don still. We are gonna be ok guys. RELAX

As soon as everybody started to panic we got 4 very good and experienced secondary players within 24-48 hours of each other lol I say keep ‘em coming! We could use another big bodied WR and either another WLB or pass rusher( hopefully the 4 star Tennessee guy who is in the portal). He was teammates with DB Wesley Walker who we just grabbed. And we might end up with 4 to 6 overall 1st rounders in next years draft. You got: Will Johnson. Mason Graham. Kenneth Grant. Colston Loveland. Donovan Edwards and Barnham at MLB. I’d say for sure 4 though.

I don’t know why, but something is not working to bring in a lot of the recruits that Michigan attempts to sign. It’s not all about NIL. Something is up!

I bet they’d crack into the ytube market in a big way, and get a lot of thumbs up from UM fans. Unfortunately they’d probably be too wiped to do a new project. Nonetheless I think it’d be a gas if they did, but then again there’s a good chance it would stink

Sherrone was handed the keys to a car gutted by player-matriculation, player departures to the NFL, and nearly the whole coaching staff going with Harbaugh. On top of all that, Moore has to try to recruit with potential NCAA sanctions looming over the whole thing. This is NOT Urban Meyer putting Ryan Day on 3rd base with a STACKED roster and coaching staff. So of course it's been messy and Mich fans will have to be patient with Sherrone---particularly if the NCAA comes down hard on the program.

@Backyardfit I'm simply saying things are a bit chaotic right now compared to the last few years. I don't think that that is a stretch to say. And yes Michigan has a lot of studs coming back and will be a genuine threat if the QB play holds up.

That's the current AD and Michigan's boosters; the school's Chancellor Santa Ono better get it together; with the NIL issue is most likely becoming a total disaster & embarrassing a bunch of 3🌟, stars. What 17th-18th 2024 recruiting-class-WOW . Unacceptable👎🏻! For now, they have a Natty. What about next year and the year after that now, the trajectory that the school is going on is two to three years from now, or do we have to wait for another thirty years from now if there is a world from now and then that's is 64K-Q.? Always, GOBLUE-NATTYUP🏆!

You don’t want to hear this and I don’t care either way but I live in Tampa and IMG is right around the corner. Kids and parents from down here are hearing nothing but negative, negative, negative when it comes to this cheating stuff. It IS a big deal and they don’t want to be associated with it. And yea I know because I work with two fathers and no one wants to be associated with a cheater. Whether it’s true or not it’s going to take years for this to go away. And this is the very sad truth of it.
