Is Mega Man 6 A Perfect Ending

Ойындар

After repeated attack’s by Dr Wily over recent years.. The Global Robot Alliance was formed in order to maintain peace and order. One year later a tournament was held to determine the 8 Robots that will represent the alliance and decide the strongest amongst the group. The sponsor of the event is the mysterious Mr. X the head of the X-foundation and various Roboticist. In the days leading up to the tournament however Mr X steals 8 of the tournaments most elite robots by reprogramming them. Mr. X claims he has manipulated Dr Wily and is responsible for his actions in recent years !
-
MegaMan6 is best described as “Fan Service the game”. Before the games release Capcom held a contest in Nintendo Power for fans to create and submit their own robot creations. The 8 finalist would have there robots represented as the new Robot Masters for the game. Six of the finalist would be from Japan and two from the USA. Outside of this the biggest improvements in MM6 is the rush power and Jet adapters that fuse rush and MegaMan into one robot! Mega can now destroy massive objects or hover over various parts of the stage leading to alternate routes. The game graphically is in my opinion at the series best and the OST here is rocking. This game is an amazing send off to the Nes and a huge thank you to all the fans that have stuck w MegaMan and Capcom through these early adolescent years. But where will MegaMan go from here? Stay tuned! (Oh and what about Mr. X? He was Wily and is doing some heavy jail time at the moment for his crimes!)

Megaman 6 *should* have been slated for the Super Nintendo. It's criminal that there was only one flagship game for that console: MegaMan 7. (Megaman Soccer and Megaman & Bass notwithstanding.)

After I replayed the whole series a couple years ago, I decided MegaMan 6 is my favorite. Maybe its because its the least familiar, maybe its the Rush Jet, maybe it's me. Whatever it is, 6 gives me the most joy when I replay it. Happy and sad to see this series end, you knocked it out of the park. Can't wait for whatevers next!

Part 6 seems like a forgotten game, coming at the tail end of the NES’ life, when most people were already looking ahead to the SNES. I’ve played through it a couple times, but I think it’s time to dust it off and give it another go. Thanks, and nice video!

This video was a beautiful way to send off the series, despite the retrospective being finished I hope you continue to find ways to delve into the classic 6. You also perfectly captured the way I felt about SNES when it came out, it was mindblowing, the colors and sounds were a quantum leap forward and I loved playing the new games whenever I had an opportunity (I didn’t get a SNES until 1995), but NES still felt like home. You described the controls as stiff, and they certainly can be, but to me they just feel tight and somewhat more precise for certain games. Great content looking forward to seeing more. -Cast

@@throwbackswiththetechnodrome 🙏 I def will come back to the original 6 in some fashion. Maybe in a bigger MegaMan project from a lore based or story telling angle I do enjoy the story of the series just as much as the gameplay. MM7 will be next so it will be interesting leaping into the 16 bit MM games. I remember seeing MM7 briefly here and there but I don’t remember it being to heavily advertised. I did rent it a couple times early on but I think it was really just overshadowed due to the popularity of the X series. Would enjoy to hear your take on MM9 and MM10 since they went back to the classic 8 bit style

@@RockinKatReviews maybe you can do a soundtrack comparison or rating (I’d love to weigh in!), or items and robot masters etc. I personally never get tired of content about the classic 6. Totally on point about 7, I honestly don’t think I knew it existed until I got the collection on Game Cube, I’m excited to see what you cover in your video! I bought Mega Man 9 on the Wii and loved it, but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to play it extensively before I sold my Wii. I do know that it felt very spiritually akin to 2&3 from what I remember, and had me yelling and punching couch cushions in frustration very quickly lmao. Wily Fortress 6 was the shortest and easiest. But from a narrative standpoint it makes perfect sense - he'd already spent a lot of time and resources on his next plan. While 6 was happening, Bass, Treble, and his robot masters from 7 were already built and hidden away somewhere. Another thing I enjoyed about this game was that sad musical style, as if they were saying goodbye to the Famicom/NES.

Nice video. Of all the classic Mega Man series, 6 is my favorite one. I liked the classic games. Don't get me wrong. But I feel like 6 is the most well polished and balanced game of the series. It defined many formulas from previous games, while also added features to make it more acceptable and loads of fun. The Rush Adapters were awesome, the Energy Balancer is an great addition that becomes very important for the series & the multiple branches in the level designs were genius. Combined with some of the best level designs in the series, awesome Robot Master's designs, great weapons, the difficulty; while on an easy side, still delivers some unique challenge to the platforming & such & has lesser obnoxious design moments, underrated soundtrack and the core gameplay being the same, MM6 is where I believed the series is at it's peak. Many would argue MM2, MM3 or even MM4 are the best games in the series. It's all subjective and I can understand it. But for me, MM6 is my top ranking classic Mega Man game and one of my top 10 favorite Mega Man games in general. Only behind X1, X2, X4, Zero 2, Zero 3 & Legends. Still an darn good game.

Agree with that take on so many levels. I always felt the series got stronger as it progressed on the nes. Just gave for so much more play style and ways to travel the game. I also think having those additional items and power ups really help ppl that are just getting into with the series w a bit more assistant for an already challenging platformer. Like E tanks you don’t have to use them you can totally just challenge yourself without them but the options are there to use the items.
