A great compound, used it last year on my wife car to remove all the swirls and some imperfections. Done a great job, then used F6 and didn’t feel the need to use a M3 or P3. Car still looks good now. I am a big fan of these compounds and polish. Also have the Koch pads for my DA. Would recommend them to anyone.

I can only speak for the H9, but I can confirm, it is a fantastic product, even using their heavy cut red backed pad it still finishes up amazingly. It removes the majority of swirls, anything that doesn’t get removed usually needs a wet sand and the finish, to most people’s eyes, is perfect. I usually finish with their M3 micro cut and purple backed pad and the differences are visible but only slightly. It just adds to that extra wet look.

so weird i’ve just sat down from using this exact compund. Fantastic heavy cutting polish - got to be one of the best out there. The gloss it leaves despite it’s high cut is amazing. Can dust up if you hammer it hard on a rotary but a for DA it’s a sublime polish. Cuts so quick and easy, breaks down nice and predictably

The KCx explanation for the slightly higher cuts on the abrasive line released in America is because of the high rate of random orbit machines being used in the US. The higher cut rating is to make up for the cutting ability of the machine being used.

boom. I wish I could frame this. when you take the factory clear off your lens you will be forever needing to repolish. You better off seeing if you can get some new chinese lens that clip on to your existing headlights. using a clearcoat solution will be more perminant make sure you key the surface then degrease and tack cloth it then you can use a plastic primer and a clearcoat. But you will find you will only get a year out of it, at least in my experience.

Hi Jon. Even though the Koch Chemie H9 and the whole range is solvent based not water and thicker than i would like, it and the range are amazing. If anyone has a car with a paint finish lacking clarity, it will make it Super clear really quickly. I love F6 too. The pads are excellent for DA machines, not tried them on rotary. h9 is far better than alot of other compounds. great for single stage paint as it can break down the coloured paint residue better than a water based one can. This keeps the pad from turning that colour and clogging the fibres or foam cells and reducing the effectiveness of the abrasives. I follow h9 with a water based polish for maximum colour richness and gloss. I give koch a 9.5/10

@@ForensicDetailing oh yes it has water in it and is still an emulsion but is it an oil in water formula or water in oil. Oil in water is better usually. The way it handles single stage paint residue so much better than the water based stuff i mainly use, thats why i feel it is solvent/oil based not a true waterborne. Though perhaps its just different solvents. Im no chemist but i was mentored by one but i can always be wrong. Regardless, koch is a great lineup

you have to manage the spent polish the pad more. dusting is just the carrier drying out. If you keep going with one pad and dont remove residues eventually you get dust.. if you run the DA on a high speed you can get too much dusting. But koch h9 is pretty good on dustying H8 to.. but they definetly can be made to dust. Ball up , im not sure what you mean. some polishing I see bed down on the panel but ive not seen this with H9. But if you try koch and dont like it you can try Scholl s2 black heavy cutting if you like. you might prefer this? some do but Ive literally not found anything with the koch products that makes me want to change.

Thank you for your imput. I've saved up and bought a XFE 15 and PXE 80. I'll try the XFE on speed 3-4. Ball up. If you imagine you have flower on your kitchen side, move your hand around and around over it, it clumps up into balls. I've tried Scholls but swaped it for Koch due to your recommendations :-)

Going down the odorless kerosene route. What about lamp oil ? I take it that's roughly the same. Cant wait to give it a try. My end goal is a nice glossy show wax that hazes in a maximum of 20mins. Oo and with a hint of bananna smell lol. Again thanks for the reply your a gent. 🤙

@@greggsmith5391 my advice to you is to spend a year working on a simple organic wax using Nuba/Montan/Parafin keep your overal wax % at around 25-35% of the total product.. so your running 25-35% waxes to carrier and solvent. Use mainly nuba so of you 30% of wax for example you could go 70% nuba, 25 montan, 5% parrafin. NEver go much more than 2-3% parafin in the overall blend. try and reduce the oil amount down. Coconut oil is a good thing to use. Solvents. You need to use a combo of a light fast vaping solving with a heavier slower vaping solvent at around 50-50 light to heavy. Eventually you should look to remove organic oil from your waxes. Oil in the wax will make your wax not competative with modern waxes. by trying to make an oily organic show wax you are treading a path millions have trod before and that path was trod by people better than use decades ago. Try and find a way to make the wax formula not use oil. Oil stop a proper cure occuring you only get a partial cure. so you need a strong solvent mixed with a lighter one to do this. tiny amounts of synthetic carrier can be good or the wax will be too hard and unspreadable. make friends with other wax makers. dont try and focus on making SI02 wax or any clever additives focus on trying to make a wax which does not use oil, and dry cures within 5-10 minutes. if you can achieve this you can add the clever stuff later on.

@@fordyford it is. And the old product H8 really is superb. theres a slight difference in the products thats hard to explain. But they are so very subtle. Its a case of do you put your faith in the brand because Ive heard its using a new abrasive tech that was a much more modern developement. Or do you just say Im happy with H8 and I can save money. Im not sure what the answer is but Im certainly not going to buy H9 until my H8 is used up. After this I will go with H9 prolly. Koch are a brand I rate highly, the chem regs in germany are really strict so they are environmentall safe, they have some real high value stuff as well, but they are geneuine market leaders when it comes to OEM abrasive development.
