I agree with you 100% on the value for your money in Cuba. I always say I would rather go to Cuba twice a year then anywhere else just once a year. 🍻

Hey Mike. I totally agree. I am retired on a modest pension but my wife and I go to Cayo Coco twice a year in October/Early November and April for 2 weeks each time and no where can you get value for your dollar and the greatest people in the world than in Cuba. You are so right about what it would cost in Canada to do the same thing which wouldn't even include the flight. I tell people go to Cuba and Enjoy. Life only lasts so long and any day above ground is a good day. Keep up the great videos.

And let's be honest, average Canadians don't always have a wide variety of breakfast options. Complaining about breakfast at a Cuban resort? Not fair. Especially if you only paid 700 bucks. Try to survive on 700$ in shittiest town in Canada for a week.

Just found your channel this morning! Been binge watching your Cuba videos. I've been to Varadero 3 times but never to Cayo Coco or Santa Maria. Like you I usually travel low season in May or September. Never had an issue with hurricanes. I also look at the hurricane watch website and also book about 3 to 5 days before my trip when the prices drop significantly. 3 weeks ago I went to Jamaica at a resort called Riu Palace Tropical Bay. Booked with Sunwing and had an oceantfront room. Nice videos! the beach looks fabulous!

another great video. I remember staying at a 4 star going to the buffet... tipped every day and the waiter on the last day brought out a whole HUGE plate of lobster. every day from the first day we were there and tipped the same guy brought a bottle of champagne and put it in our beach bag while we were eating. I do tend to stay away during hurricane season though

My wife and I with 3 others are headed to Melia Cayo Coco In 3 weeks for our 20th anniversary . We have been going in October for 20 yrs now and have only missed 2 years in that time. We have always lucked out with the weather and if it does storm you can always sit in the lobby with a book. Love your videos .. Salud !

Hey Mike! After watching your videos I decided to check out the Cuba in 2 days for my first time! I know it's the wet season, but for the extremely low price and my low expectations that I am sure it will be a blast regardless. Heading to the Memories Flamenco for that wonderful beach and hopefully at least a nice sunset or two.

I’ve been to Cuba in hurricane weather. I use to bring Yahtzee and stay down at the lobby bar and drink the amazing coffee and then switch to some alcohol. I usually book a week in advance. Take the change and enjoy your vacation.

It was great Value for money

We were in Cuba (Cayo Santa Maria) the last week of August and it only rained a few times. It was very short lived. We stayed at Angsana (adults only). It was a beautiful resort. The beach was amazing! The staff were so welcoming and there was plenty of delicious food. The resort absolutely exceeded our expectations! But yes…BRING BUG SPRAY 🤗

The Memories !!! ive been there many times before. we just came back from a September 2023 trip to Varadero and I have to say its been the hottest with clearest skies ive been in many year to Cuba so far. you'll get a really great morning with sunny skies and as you get to sunset the crowds comes in. its a hit or miss that's all I have to say. be safe !!!

Love this video. Even though I am Canadian I grow up in Balkan and I am use to shortages. As long as I have something to eat, drink sleep and enjoy myself it's great. My kids are finally old enough to stay home and hubby doesn't have as much vacation. I wandered about single travel. Thanks

Another informative video. We always include a fall trip in our travel plans. We’ve been airlifted out of Samana once, part of the gamble you pay during the fall season. Currently booked for two weeks at Cayo Largo, late October. As you say, it’s all about managing expectations, remaining calm, being kind, and living in the moment.

Hi Mike, Just started watching your videos the last couple of months. You have grown on us and we really enjoy watching your videos. We been to many of the same resorts you have stayed. It brings back many fond memories of our trips. Paula and I have travel to various Caribbean Countries since 2008 (Cuba, DR, Jamaica and Mexico). We seem to always return to Cuba . We love the people and have always had a better time in Cuba. Since Covid we did two trips to Cuba one to Varadero and one to Cayo Cuz. Each resort had shortages but we made the best of things. We just finished watching your Cayo Largo trip to Memories. We were heading there last March but seen some negative reviews and went to the Iberostar in Cayo Cuz instead. We now are sorry we didn't go there after watching your videos. Paula said I told you so this would be a nice place. We are heading back this year to Cuba again . I think the nicest beach in Cuba was in front of the Memories in Cayo Santa Maria it was like sugar. We do love Varadero Beach, Flamenco Beach and the beach in front of the Pullman and Melia but Cayo Santa Maria Memories to us is the best. Keep up your videos I know we enjoy then alot. We might run into you on the beach I am tall/heavy set and wearing a Tilley Hat.

Hi there, I love your videos! Awesome content! My husband and I went to Memories Caribe in 2022, which was the first all inclusive travel experience either of I had ever had and it was AMAZING! the beach was just perfect, we didn’t have hot running water during our stay but we didn’t care at all, we were at the beach the whole time lol! Like you, our priority was the beach & safety. We are planning to take our son (he is 8) on his first all inclusive trip as well and we are booking a last minute to either Veradero Sol Caribe OR Memories Flameno in Cayo Coco, he is also most excited about the beach. I know the purpose of your channel is not to recommend things, BUT, in your opinion, which beach would do YOU prefer? We are hoping for white sand, calm waters & lots of seashells & wildlife (in Cayo Coco we saw crabs, starfish, fish, etc) and our son is most looking forward to the wildness of the beach. ❤❤❤

I’ve not been to Sol!!! But Flamenco many times!!! Flamenco as you know deals with many maintenance issues, plumbing etc… But the beach there is so beautiful…. They also have amazing pools… I don’t recommend only because Cuba can be unpredictable with water and food shortages!!! Flamenco needs up dates and work, but the beach is amazing!!! I leave it at that!!! Enjoy you vacation where ever you decide to stay!!! Your going for the beach and safety!!! Enjoy Mike

I was at this resort last November and paid a lot more for a single. The prices are always higher November to April but the weather is usually better. The resort was ok and as usual a great time was had by all. There were some shortages but always something to eat and drink. The staff were amazing and they work so hard. They closed memories section but they kept the lobby bar open for nightly entertainment. We are booked for two weeks at memories caribe Cayo coco this November. We were going to book Cayo Cruz but then heard about the rats in the rooms so switched to caribe. Thanks for the great reviews, really appreciate your honesty. Have you ever been to Ensenachos? we’ve been twice and the coral section is amazing and the beach will blow your mind. Cheers from Canada …. Heather

There can be!!!! but the Probability of hurricanes heats up later in the Summer and more risk in AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV but yes of course JULY - AUG \but in all my years travelling to the Caribbean of have yet to have a problem in JULY and AUG

The food is fine but if your pregnant there a great chance you’ll have no issues!!!! But there’s been a few water shortages but nothing major for healthy strong people!!!

@@tee6394 No, I knew going in that the food would be not great and that there were shortages. However what I find is every time this channel goes to Cuba (which is VERY frequently) and shows the food it does not match my experience. Makes me suspicious. I would have been overjoyed to have had food spreads shown in these videos. Cynical me suspects that this is sponsored in some way. I loved my time in Cuba but I wouldn't be making videos suggesting people should go during a hurricane season and raving about how tasty the food is. If this is completely genuine then I apologize for the accusations to the content creator.
