Have been an eastie for quite a while. Should I buy Treasure tampines or a old freehold condo in Meyer with sea view. I feel that the old freehold condo offers more value as it is closer to city and high enbloc chance. I own a 5 room HDB now. What are your thoughts?

Depends on your budget. Freehold budget can buy bigger leasehold condo which potentially makes more 👍

Few years ago I almost paid down a deposit to secure a landed property. But due to some reason did not carry on with the deal. Now few years later forward, I regretted as the property price shot up over 40% n more. Private property prices have been going only 1 way UP for most except for some special cases. So if you ask me if it is the time now to buy. I am a bit skeptical as prices as move up so much for the past years. Property investment in the long term wise is still a win case if you buy in at the right time though...

Only fools make frivolous comments like the one you have just made. I bet you have never experienced a financial crisis the likes of 1998 and 2008 before. Reminds me of my relationship manager in a leading local bank who has never seen high interest rates in his entire career until now and trying to sell me products which will work against me when interest rates rise. He didn’t believe interest rates would ever rise, nor asset prices ever fall. These are the people who joined the markets after Lehman.

what products did they offer you to buy? iirc 2008 housing crisis didn't affect SG as much as in the US (there're videos on that), everyone's been saying sg housing market's a bubble since 2000s but as long as the demand > supply, it's not coming down anytime soon. Personally I don't find that little bit of space in SG property worth at all lol, I'd rather buy a bungalow in the US for the same price as a condo, but investment wise it's pretty good I think. Alot of foreigners and investors want to stay in SG and they don't mind paying exorbitant prices to set up base (e.g premium condos and landed) here be it for economic, political or personal reasons.
God damn I’m sure he has good content but I could no longer tolerate his super exaggerated Singlish
