Granted the Aldi saw had less displacement but just from observation I think it needed a good sharpening out of the box. It was throwing dust going into that hardwood, the BuKo was throwing nice heavy chips meaning a sharp chain.

Yeah, spares may be a problem. For the price, buy 2, one for spares! Aldi gives 3 years warranty, use an abuse then return at 2 years an 360 days.

Spare parts are very easy to get if you know what to look for. 45,52,58,62cc chinese saws are all pretty much the same and parts interchange.

Parker in the UK does some pretty decent saws for around the same price, they have great customer service and full parts inventory availability. I've been really impressed with their 62cc model which I've now been using for about two years. Another point, chains make a big difference, often the cheap china OEM brands come with very soft cheap metal chains which hamper potential performance considerably. There is a reason why tool brands who dabble in chainsaws such as Ryobi, Dewalt and others ship with Oregon chains, which are great out the box and almost as good as Stihl

You can herar the buko breathes better. Most likely less restricted exhaust and it screams better. But do they last can you get pistons, sleeves?

Just bought the buko chainsaw and I've had trouble with it flooding how many turns on the L and H should it be screwed out? I've tried the usual 1 to 1.5 rotations but still floods, also what should my throttle screw be turned to so I can start the saw. It's brand new but not tuned right at all

Parker Brand sell cheap and cheerful chainsaws and have great after sales service and parts catalogue. I have the Parker 62cc, unit not had the chance to use it much, maybe it might be worth a review.

My brother just picked up the Scheppach 56cc one for £59 from Aldi. He was looking at it when it was £99 then I saw it was discounted so he snapped it up. Arrived yesterday, testing tomorrow.

I've had my 52cc Chinese chainsaw since 2009, it's used for about 4 months every year since then. I had to replace the coil 2 years ago and had to replace the intake boot last year and discovered a walbro carby on it too. Very surprising.

Excellent review lads very well done !! The spare parts is what wouod get me im looking at the multi tool kit from buko but if its thwt hard to buy spares then i wouldnt invest !!

I found it much better to buy an old Husky then a new off brand saw. My 1985 Husqvarna 61 is a very good saw.

Bought my dad an Aldi saw 8 years ago so he’d stop wrecking my saws, when I say abused I mean it, bad mix, cutting roots, cutting nails, just mayhem with a saw. That saw starts every single time from cold within 6 pulls. The av system is shocking though so he usually stops cutting before he wears himself out too much which isn’t a bad thing either.

Still made by Dolmar so yes (assuming you mean gas) Sad news is.. makita/dolmar are ending the production of gas powered saws... so don't delay if you like that brand. Or come to the dark side and buy an Echo :-D

As a self employed gardener, I don't use chainsaws that much. I do need one from time to time, so bought myself a Husqvarna 455 Rancher. I find it does everything I need but wondered what your option of it was?

Keep it sharp and it'll be better than a manual saw. I'm an arborist and see people with big cc saws with wonky chains all the time. I'll do more work with a 455 than an amateur with a 90cc saw over a whole days work. 455 is nice because of dealer support, you can run that thing for half your life time.

455 Rancher is a great saw albeit a little heavy for its size. A 450 or 445 would do everything up to a landscaper level just as well. The Rancher is an awesome cross cutting saw for logging.

No antivibe on these. But i have one to hotrod. For the price they are decent. You open up the exhaust and do some measuring they are all around 58cc

I found myself rooting for the Aldi I mean you just knew it was gonna be the dog in this race 😆For the home owner who uses it once or twice a year any of them will due , here we have Poulan ( crap ) but again if I use it👍 sparingly then yeh purchase crap 🤷

As a small saw I have the SCHEPPACH CSP2540 which is a nice well made saw for small tasks.

The good "pro" saws excluded.. The lower end stihls are imported trash too. You pay a lot of money for a made in china white saw.

The Aldi one is now £60 with code.

Can't help but wonder if the Aldi saw was running a bit fat in the cut.

@@MachineryNation well there is something wrong with it then. I have that exact saw and I use it every weekend and it doesn't have the difficulty that one has and it's about two years old. Just listen to it when it's cutting it's not tuned.

@@diesel_man99 tuned by a very experienced 2-stroke technician 👍🏼 the trouble with these saws is you can have two identical saws bought at the same time and one will be perfect and the other rubbish. We think this one maybe drawing air through a crank seal. We may do a p&v test at some point to find out 👍🏼

You get what you pay for. My guess is the Aldi saw wouldn’t last three years, take it back and get a new saw or money back. I wouldn’t buy either but I’m a saw snob 😁

These very cheap shyyy. T chainshaws these not know cut 50 m3 woods trees. These only enough 1-2 m3 woods cut and drop rubish and need buy new. This very expensive!!! Becsuse every 1-2 m3 wood cut need vagy new Buco chainshaw not economy! Why not tested 8-10 m3 woods cut??? I think these chainsaws not know cut 8-10 m3 woods. I have Stihl 880 and Stihl 171 more better! I cuted 50 m3 woods with Stihl 880 and Stihl 171!
