omg yay glad to see ya back Dave. Hope ya had a good christmas/new years break. Happy New Years as well. Can't wait for the content coming in 2023. One of my new years resolution is to learn to draw with my affinity programs. I have been on the painting grind throughout 2022 since I took my painting class at school. I continued throughout the remains of the year with 1-2 paintings a month. I would love to learn how to turn them into a fun abstract theme art book. that could be a fun video to make. a how to art book style in 2023?

Thanks Chip. Glad to have you over there too.
It's underway! I am talking about the production of my book. Just uploaded final files to the printer's server. If you would like to take a bow, please do so. Because you really helped me with book design in Affinity Publisher.

No bows necessary. You did all the work.

@@DaveConrey You made a book designer out of me! Your Affinity Publisher videos were very helpful.
I never understand why your numbers are so low. You have great content that is made with quality. Did you get canceled for something?

So the thing about KZread is that if you end up going marginally viral for a certain topic (ie: Affinity app reviews) but it's not your whole thing, you may get a ton of new subscribers who think they want to see more of you, but they ultimately don't watch. So now I'm building my content up in a way that is more beneficial to people who enjoy watching me, and not just waiting for me to talk about Affinity again. And that's also why I have the second channel because eventually that one will gain momentum and catch up to this one. We'll see what happens after that.
EDIT: Next time, I'll watch that other video where you say all this stuff before I say all the same stuff. Ha. But I'll leave this here for the sake of posterior. Posterity. Whatever. --------------------- tl;dr-you are the product, the content, the raison d'être. do that. All Dave, all the time. I had no idea you had 2 channels. Is it only 2? I've been mortally confused sometimes, wondering why I'd see a video, then couldn't find it again. More soapbox than rant: For a long time before I mostly retired I was both maker and teacher. What worked for me, and what I taught my consulting clients, was that strongest path to what you want, in art and business, is to have rabid raving fans, and the strongest path to rabid raving fans is to be you, out loud, dialed up to 11. Everything else is subservient to that goal. You don't want fans of art tutorials, or design thinking, or the business of art, you want fans of YOU, and then, by and large (a sailing term, apparently) they will follow everything you do. I had loads of crossover from my web design biz to my business books to my fiction to my self-publishing mentoring to my marketing biz. And I worked exclusively with people who I loved being around, and who were a joy to do business with, meaning they didn't quibble about price, they paid on time, they acted like professionals. They followed everything I did, because they were following ME.

I couldn't agree more with the "fans of you" comment, and yes, two channels... so far.
