Is it Time to Switch? Hoyt RX7 vs RX8 Comparison

Спорт

The new Hoyts are out for 2024. The question is, has there been enough upgrades to warrant switching to the new bow? RX7 or the new RX8? Should I make the switch or stay where I am? The 2 biggest reasons for my decision are laid out in this video. #Hoytarchery #RX8 #Carbonbow #archeryhunting

    I just got my buddy’s rx7 because he had to have the 8. After videos like this I’m glad it worked out the way it did.

    Last year I bought the VTM34 because the RX7 had more vibration in my hand. This year I wanted to go smaller so I shot the Alpha X 30 and the RX8 and was very surprised that the RX8 was more dead in the hand and it wasn’t close for me. My RX8 is on order…

    I agree. It doesn’t really make sense that the lighter bow would be more dead in the hand but that’s what I felt too. Thanks for watching.

    IMO, the bows that draw the smoothest is a very important factor. Now those that are young and strong can do the harder more resistant drawing ones and have a blast. Of course, draw weight is variable to make nearly any bow comfortable to shoot. The better a bow fits your abilities will help you become a better archer hopefully because you will most likely shoot it more. IMO, one is way better off using a bow they can CONTROL easily AND SPEED is not the answer. Accuracy is the final answer. And that requires an archer to be able to control the whole shooting process. 👍👍

    You are 100% correct. I’ve seen so many guys “over bowed” and can’t figure out why they are inconsistent. Quickest way to develop bad habits take the fun right out of archery. I don’t focus much on draw cycle but for someone new this it certainly should be a consideration.

    Yes sir, the price is steep! Just like the new mathews lift 33 at pretty much 1500 before taxes. Bows have gotten stupid in the price department. I hope they eventually decrease in price, but that's wishful thinking. Prices aren't going to deflate in my lifetime.

    I agree. We have seen waaaay more bows come in to get new strings this year. I think with the economic instability and these bows being more expensive people are choosing to take care of what they already have instead of upgrading.

    At least with the LIFT you are getting basically the same weight as a Hoyt carbon (it's actually lighter than the RX8) and the riser is made in America and not China like the Hoyt@@blessedvetoutdoors

  • @WolfinWolvesClothing713

    @WolfinWolvesClothing713

    @TangoOne a tenth of a lb on paper isn't even worth saying anything about. The riser frames are just wrapped with carbon over there, big deal. Everyone that thinks the lift is something new hasn't been around very long. My martin (rytera) alien x is only 3.5 lbs. , is rated for 340, has rotating mods, roller cable guard, rubber string stop, and is 10-12 years old, all the things all the big companies have been toting as new for the last ten years. Then there are all the people that think the lift grip, and the draw cycle suck, unlike a hoyt. Different strokes for different folks etc... that's why they aren't all the same.

    I liked your video…. I shoot an original ventum 33 and I am not a big guy at 5’10 but I like the string angle on a bigger bow. I also have a phase 4 33 so the last thing I need is another bigger ata bow. After hearing your reaction to the string angle I think I finally want a rx8 and btw the tombstone 🪦 color is amazing. I’ll have to go see one. Thanks for the review

  • @anthonysimone7232

    @anthonysimone7232

    7 ай бұрын

    I know this isn’t exactly what you wanted but it’s all I can offer…. I have the ventum 33 since released in 60 lbs and I love it but this yeah I went to draw the bowtech ss34 phase 33 and rx7 34 in 70 lbs. The bowtech was a cake walk and the phase was actually nice because it’s easy up front …. Hoyt’s usually stack up front so the rx7 was tuff. Now maybe because I have bad shoulders or because I was used to a 60 lb bow….. I went with the phase 4. Hope that helped somewhat
