Is It Time to Rethink the Traditional Idea of a Couple? | Loose Women
Ойын-сауық
Former Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has revealed that despite being in a relationship with her fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for 8 years, and sharing a son together, the couple have never lived together. She’s not the only one - 9% of people in marriages or long-term partnerships in the UK are living apart while in a relationship. While Christine can’t get her head around couples that don’t live together, Coleen updates us on how her own life has changed for the better since living with partner Michael. Plus, Janet goes to town telling us the reasons she can’t stand the word ‘couple’!

Perrie’s statement was just taken out of context. She means that they never work in the same country because perrie is always on tour or in London doing promo while her fiancé is a football player for liverpool and now turkey. During lockdown they did stay in one house, as well as on their breaks.
What works for some doesn’t work for others. Each to their own. Good luck to them.

@ttp436 Perrie and ox(Alex) are busy doing their jobs
You have to respect Perrie for standing her ground. Rather than follow her partner she’s decided to stay where her family and friends are, she’s managing a career, and raising their child whilst staying in the UK. Unlike Victoria Beckham who followed David and uprooted their kids to every country David worked in.

They're not purposefully living apart, they both have jobs that requires a lot of travel - he's a footballer who lived in Manchester and she traveled around the world as an artist and then now his new team is in Turkey. They share a home and life together but it's not as traditional as a couple who works in the city town/city.

Once you are past child bearing and all that comes with that you can think differently about things. I wouldn’t want to share a house again. With my second husband we were incredibly happy and in love for ten years - then we got married and moved in together. That was the beginning of the end and within two years I left and we divorced soon after. I love my freedom SO much now the thought of being out and about doing my stuff and having a man calling me going on about where am I, how long am I going to be?? Makes me shudder
I can relate to Brenda :) I like having my own space and there's nothing wrong with that
Each to their own.
I love being in ‘a couple’.
I suppose every couple has been in this situation like Perrie. So why is this news everywhere? Like wth . Just leave them alone
What Perrie and Alex are doing is no different then if you are in a committed relationship to someone to does long distance trucking or a partner who has a apartment in the city and only comes back home on weekends. You’ve got to do what works for you. Personally I’m ok with not living with my partner 24/7 as long as there is good communication and a commitment to each other.
I mean , it’s cause he’s moves around with his football team and then Perrie has been touring so that’s all she means, they are well off so this life style is easier to live. Not saying it’s not hard not seeing each other all the time but I’m sure they have it handled, for ppl that work normal jobs it seems weird as it’s probably not financially viable to live alone and raise a family as there may not be family/ friends/ ppl to help with kids and stuff , it’s not that deep that’s all she’s saying
I would hate to live separately from my boyfriend. We’re together, so we should live together and there’s no one else I’d choose to live with.
My partner and I have separate bedrooms. Its nice to have your own space but still able to come together when we want. We have different schedules and it means we both are well rested
Having a child with someone being engaged with them and not living with them ??? Each to their own ! Imagine not waking up to your partner and child ? Surely most people would WANT to be living with their spouse when they at least have a child lol

They will eventually live together as they have a house together but right now their jobs don't allow it.
That way they don't get on your nerves if they are happy with that and Thier both happy with it
Sometimes I wonder why they like to take care of other people's lives. does it harm them?disturb them? it would be better, just mind their own lives, Is their life, or their household perfect? happy? After all, many couples don't get married until they are old, even when their children grow up they follow in their parents' footsteps
They’re rich, they can afford to live separately. Most average people xant
I think its just like a Long Distance Relationship.
Can't share their space but can share their bodies?
Didn't mean send the l
There are different forms of marriages in the society. The main thing is that they are together as of now and everyone is happy.
Christine and Colleen only ppl talking any sense
Don't be silly.Normal houses are not big enough to live separate Couples are together and want to spend time with each other and yes Collen you are right.Relationships should not be together aa not live together.Together is nirm and if u can't you are not loving the person as it should way
