Whoah man!! your video is really cool stuff...love the way your hand moves every time you sketch n paint🥰😍 really talented would love to see more of your videos. I came here to see some videos of watercolor painting and ended up landing here. I got an sketchbook from Menorah a square one coz I wanted a handy one I sketch when I travel😁 was amazed to see your drawings on menorah sketchbooks 😍 they are really good sketchbooks for all kinds of artists

New sketchbook new palette clean water, what's happening? 😮 I just bought white gouache, I've never used gouache in my watercolors just the white of the paper. Gouache is odd if I add water to it it looks white but then it fades and sort of melts into the paper and kind of dissapears..... I'm not sure how to use the gouache, if I use it pure from the tube it's jarring, too thick, looks like it doesn't belong on the painting, any suggestions? I wanted to try it because you use it 😅.

I think that depends on the kind of white gouache you use. There are two types. The semi opaque and the extra white opaque one. The super white opaque one is marketed as Titanium white. The other the semi opaque is Zinc white so you have to check the pigment that your white gouache paint is made off. You are looking for the PW6 pigment.

@@creativecolours2022 thanks for answering, it's Windsor and Newton designers gouache permanent white pigment PW6, so what am I doing wrong? I also was curious if I was supposed to mix it with my watercolors? I really have no clue how to use it 😕 and quite frankly so far I can't see the appeal of gouache when just leaving the white of the paper works fine.

I use it blended with other colours to increase opacity. Sometimes it's for the background and to help things recede, other times, i mix it thickly with the colour to paint the final details if I'm painting light over dark. The old masters knew how to use white gouache (or body colour as they called it) in their painting. If you have a chance, borrow some art books from the library to see how they used it. It's eye opening to see what we are missing with our current myths against using black and white in watercolour.
