    Facts. I totally agree, 8.5 it’s just a couple BHP more, the HUGE iPad on the dash and the new forge wheels. I will understand if people were upgrading from 7, 7.5

    Thank you so much for your comment and for supporting my channel by watching the video, I really appreciate it! Absolutely! I think that's what people tend to lose sight of. It's easy to eat every new iteration and model year, but it's not always worth the upgrade. I think the 8.5 is a great upgrade from a mk 6 or 7

    In a materialistic world, chasing the latest and greatest is like chasing a mirage. You can chase it all you want, but you will never reach it. As soon as you sell the one you have and buy a new one, they come up with a newer version yet, and your new purchase is old again. It is the intention of marketing to make people feel as if they are less if they don't have the latest version of whatever it is they are selling. I think the trick to deal with that approach is to be happy with what you have, think about what matters, take a while to and do lots of research to make your decision, and don't be impulsive. For the most parts, happiness and contentment comes from within and does not have an external locus.

    I got the 2024 R for one reason: last chance to get the manual. Speed isn't everything and it's a blast to drive. It would take SUBSTANCIAL upgrade for me to consider, which probably would be 2-3 generations down the line. But sadly at that point it probably will be full electric. I'm stage 1 APR full torque... so it should have been a close race... but I shift like my grandma... I didn't buy this car to win races... but to have a ton of fun driving it. So far I haven't been disappointed. Next car will be a manual 911. That would be the only thing I'd rather be driving. LFG XRP!

    Yo, Yosef.... what KIND of cameras do you have? LEICA Q3 now?..... I believe there is something about.... changing to a NEW THING.... then they look and look and look, it's exciting to RESEARCH then they GET the particular thing... LIKE ME and MY NEW 2024.... VW Golf R.... 6 speed.... so OH NO the 2025 is coming out? I shudda waited for the 2025? NOPE... NO MORE 6 speed... is the reason I for MYSELF... because I always wanted a Volkswagen Golf R, I am glad that it took this LONG, because I would have had to swap 3 of them out, as they progressed in SHAPE and Style... this ONE is ENOUGH for me and as much as the LOOKING BUYING and Driving it for the FIRST TIME.... I HOPE that the THRILL is always with me each drive and GEAR CHANGE...... I settled for Black, wanted BLUE but both get just as dirty.... and did not want white but ALL THREE COLOURS ARE... beautiful.....

    What's up man? Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it!! Haha I wish, I'm a Canon guy now, but have had Nikon's for many years. I shoot with the R5 and primarily the 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8. They are awesome! Do you have a Leica? There absolutely is! It's always exciting getting something new! The sad thing is now everything comes so quickly, we are so used to having things instantly, it takes away the novelty of anticipating the new thing that is coming. That's the key! When you do your research and truly decide about something, nothing else matters! You are actually satisfied with your decision and don't have buyers remorse. I'm exactly the same way, I wanted one of the last manuals. This generation of golf r is amazing and I honestly wouldn't trade it for anything else right now. Enjoy your black one man! Hang on to it! It will be worth something one day!

    The 8.5R actually looks uglier than the 8R to me. The front end grill has large gaps in it that would make me worry that anything could get caught in there while driving. And the huge children's Ipad in the dash is comical.

    For me I am debating getting the 2024 or waiting for the 2025. These markups I am seeing are ridiculous. I think i personally dont like the giant screen on the 2025 golf, but do like the illuminated climate control.

  • @MiCoopRS

    @MiCoopRS

    Ай бұрын

    your fingers will get to know exactly where these controls are at night.... the middle is volume, and the far sides are the climate and why do you need to adjust the passenger one... as long as the passenger does not fiddle with the volume when they try to adjust their HEAT and COLD settings....

  • @Drivers-Edge

    @Drivers-Edge

    Ай бұрын

    That's tough call... Honestly I haven't had any issues with the lack of illumination on the sliders, I think that was just something people picked on. The new screen is nice in the Id4 and it has a much better UX in my opinion, so if it's the same for the 8.5 golf r, it is definitely an upgrade. I don't particularly like giant screens in cars, so the mk8 is the winner for me.
